A DUI, drugs, speeding (100 mph). This can happen to anyone's children, but Gore might want to start spending less time lecturing the world with junk science and more time with his family. Perhaps they need him more than we do right now. Quite a rap sheet on the kid I wasn't aware of. It's a shame, really, but it happens.
Police said Albert Gore III was speeding at 100 miles per hour and that Xanax, marijuana and other drugs were found in the car.

I wonder how big Gore the 3rd carbon footprint is?

His son is 24. Moron...
That's why he wrote "This can happen to anyone's children" moron.

I note the son went to Harvard. Obviously, not pursuing any of their real degrees (physics, math, etc). Probably some Wizard of Oz degree in Political "science" (the same sort of science that is currently looking into global warming). Wonder how he got to that school? Oops, forgot, if a Kennedy can get in...anybody can get in. Perhaps we should encourage young Gore to pursue a pilot's license. Heh.

Bob in Stamford obviously believes that once ones' progeny reaches a certain age, they no longer are part of the family unit, hence the "moron" comment.
Families are for LIFE, Bob. If you cannot comprehend that fact, make sure you make good, frequent use of those mail-order condoms your CT hometown is famous for.
Moron.

Perhaps young Mr. Gore can get a pardon or Bush could commute his sentence. A DUI seems so much less serious than treason.
Posted by: Bill Adkins | Wednesday, July 04, 2007 at 08:00 PM
Perhaps young Mr. Gore and Noelle Bush could compare experiences? Or perhaps young Mr. Gore and George W. Bush could compare experiences?
Posted by: Bill Adkins | Wednesday, July 04, 2007 at 08:01 PM
The only reason Bob in Stamford needs condoms is to keep his keyboard from sticking.

Yes, we all know this NEVER happens to the children of Republicans.

Young Al was caught smoking pot in his dorm room at St. Albans at 13. 13!!!!!! When the school wanted to discipline him, Big Al had a hissy fit. How dare they!! He also managed to get the press to keep it quiet. Looks like Big Al didn't teach his son there are consequences to actions. And he still hasn't learned.
Nice namesake there Al. You must be so proud. And just in time to embarrass the family for the big Live Earth concert and their daughter's wedding this summer.
Posted by: Jo | Wednesday, July 04, 2007 at 11:14 PM
With this track record and rap sheet, at least we can be fairly sure now that young Al won't be trying to enter the family business of politics. We've had enough Gores to laugh, oops, I mean last, a lifetime.

"A DUI seems so much less serious than treason."
The very reason I voted for Bush over Gore in 2K! Or by treason, were you referring to Sandy Berger, and not the illegal fundraising from totalitarian sources? Hard to keep track, without a controlling legal authority.

"The very reason I voted for Bush over Gore in 2K!"
You were against treason (Berger) before you were for treason (Libby (and Cheney and Bush)). Hard to keep track when consistency is absent.

Well, have you *always* been against it, or just lately, when you've been assured it's the real deal.
So hard to keep track etc., etc. But welcome to the refuge of patriotism! Come on in; the water's warm.

Oh, I've always been against it - particularly when the miscreant is convicted and sentenced. As I recall, Berger was convicted and sentenced and served - hey, think Bush might pardon him now that Sandy's served his sentence? I'm sure, now that you've determined clemency for traitors is ok you'll endorse his petition. See? Not so hard to keep track if you can keep up.
Salutations ...

Bill,
*You* are having trouble keeping up, because your background is all off. Berger was charged, but made a deal with the slackers at DoJ: $50K fine & no time other than some community service, if that. Disqualified for having clearance for approximately the remainder of the Bush term, so he could be "Reporting For Duy" under a President Hillary. Though he's voluntarily surrendered his law license, rather than be forced to answer questions from a bar committee reviewing his conduct.
Bush's commutation of Libby's prison sentence still leaves Libby's penalty ($250K) those five multiples above Berger, who committed a violation of unknown seriousness, but most likely very much greater than Libby's presumptive lying to investigators about who/what & when conversations with Tim Russert & others journalists.
Berger didn't commit treason (as far as I can tell; Clinton/Gore maybe, assuming that when the Chinese Red Army contributed to their '96 campaign, they stayed bought [honorable southern gentlemen that they are]), and certainly neither did Libby et al. Et al leaves out Richard Armitage. If it was treason to reveal the identity of Valerie Superspy, Armitage should be walking in the Rosenberg footsteps.
So you see, there's not much room for Dubya to pardon Berger. One rightwing suggestion was that he should've used the occasion to knock Libby's fine down to the level of old Sanford. But Dubya never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

You know, Al Capone was not convicted of organized crime but, instead, of tax evasion. Does that mean Al isn't so bad? As to Berger, i think you laid out all that he did accurately - and he paid the ordered price - a plea bargain and a conviction and sentence being the same process. As for Berger, he's as eligble for a pardon as is Libby. I'll see your Red Army allegation and remind you that Haley Barbour pulled in a pile of cash in Hong Kong harbor on behalf of the Republicans. Now, if you buy the Armitage excuse, please call for my available ocean front property located in warm, sunny South Dakota. You, too, can own your own beach house, enjoy sun and fun and recreation in that oasis in South Dakota. Surf, sail, parasail and deep sea fishing available, too. Don't forget, if you believe that Scooter Libby is innocent, that Richard Armitage just happened to let the Plame name slip and that Dick Cheney didn't try to smear Plame and Wilson in retaliation for their telling the truth about the lies of the Bush/Cheney criminals, then call now - Sunny South Dakota awaits you. And don't forget the sunscreen.

I just think it's important to point out he was driving a Prius. And that he was driving that Prius at 100mph. Kick ass.

"...and that Dick Cheney didn't try to smear Plame and Wilson in retaliation for their telling the truth about the lies of the Bush/Cheney criminals."
Bill,
It sure is fun toying with you, because you toss of howlers like my cat does fur in a sunbeam.
What, precisely, is the nature of the "smear?" In fact, what, precisely, is the specific Wilsons "truth?" Careful, now.
Use the allotted two hours and plenty of paper. Show your work when you turn in your answer.
Can I take you silence as assent that Dubya should've knocked Libby's fine down to a Berger level. I'm glad I'm so persuasive.

Just checkin' in - no assent here, Rick. The 'truth' is the proven, Rick - no yellow cake, no nukes in Iraq, no WMD.
Posted by: Bill Adkins | Thursday, July 05, 2007 at 08:02 PM
Keep working, Mr. Adkins: you may get up to use the restroom, sharpen your pencil, and get some fresh paper.
A hint for you, since I'm so darn altruistic: who suggested sending Wilson to Africa, as opposed to who Wilson said suggested him? And another: what did he tell the CIA & Congress about the Iraqi shopping, as opposed to what he wrote in the NYT?
And how exactly *did* the administration smear our dear Boris & Natasha?
Take all night with your answer--this story (the real truth, as opposed to the truthiness construct) is years old, so there's no deadline pressure.
BTW, Valerie gave differing, contradictory testimony to Congressional hearings. Perjury that we come to see as close to treason, no doubt; I hope Dubya preemptively pardons her (if Presidential writ extends to Congressional penalties).

Here's the lawsuit, Rick -- and I believe the statements made. I know you don't, but I do. As for Plame and perjury, I hope the DOJ goes for it. I'd love the discovery process - hell, I am going to love it in this lawsuit, too.

Your stupid mouth? Your stupid head? Your stupid comments?
And where's the verb? Your stupid comments ARE not worthy of consideration.
