Amazing ht Instapundit for this Volokh link on a domestic act of terrorism the MSM is ignoring. I Googled the intended victims name to scope out the dismal press coverage: ten hits?
Not quite, enter Duck goal tender Jean-Sebastien Giguere in a long, compelling human interest story I've excerpted - the intended victim plays a major role:
His emotions run the gamut as he experiences the joy of the birth of his first child, fears for that child's health, finds hope in a medical solution and then wins the Stanley Cup.
"I saw Maxime's right eye and just figured that it would take time to open," Giguere said. "Everyone in the room thought the same thing, but my wife — I guess a mother knows — was really worried and kept asking for a doctor to come look at it."
For the next two nights, Giguere slept at the hospital in the bed beside his wife while doctors flashed lights in front of Maxime's eyes. The right eye was an undersized, cloudy and malformed marble, hidden beneath closed lids. The left, bright blue and open, slowly followed the brightness, much less the waving hands and big-clown smiles of his rookie parents.
Nurses took the infant out of his mother's arms for two days of tests and brain scans, each one bringing a new wave of worry to the Gigueres.
"This was something the doctors said they hadn't seen before," Giguere said. "At that point, we didn't know whether he would be able to see at all. We talked about it. We were afraid to talk about it."
Blindness. Nothing in any of Kristen's prenatal exams prepared them for this.
Then Dr. Arthur Rosenbaum, the chief of pediatric ophthalmology, emerged with promising news. He told the Gigueres that Maxime's left eye was healthy and explained that the deformity in the right eye was caused by a rare condition known as persistent fetal vasculature syndrome.
The blood vessels in Maxime's right eye hadn't had enough time to develop fully during pregnancy and hadn't yet disappeared to form the clear structures of the eye. Surgery, Rosenbaum told them, could help.
After surgery, the baby is fine ... Dr. Arthur Rosenbaum's car, not so much. Local reports claim it did burn up. It just didn't make any news.
LOS ANGELES - Animal activists Thursday claimed they firebombed an automobile belonging to a UCLA primate researcher.
A white BMW belonging to Arthur Rosenbaum was set on fire in front of his home at 465 Loring Ave., said Dr. Jerry Vlasak of The North American Animal Liberation Press Office.
Police confirmed there was a car fire in the area on Sunday but did not immediately release more details.

Not that I would wish anything bad to happen to Jerry Vlasak, but if he were to be say...permanently crippled and blinded in a car crash and the hooker who was blowing him bit his junk off, I don't think I'd loose a lot of sleep over it. Just saying...
