Update: The moron just keeps coming. If I didn't detest his politics so much, I'd almost pity the crazy, obsessed bastard, destined to go down as a footnote of lunacy in the nation's history. I bet he cries real tears over his junk science. Sad.
WE — the human species — have arrived at a moment of decision. It is unprecedented and even laughable for us to imagine that we could actually make a conscious choice as a species, but that is nevertheless the challenge that is before us.
Our home — Earth — is in danger. What is at risk of being destroyed is not the planet itself, but the conditions that have made it hospitable for human beings.
It just isn't fair!!!! And the list goes on at link. sniffle
Many of the assertions Gore makes in his movie, ''An Inconvenient Truth,'' have been refuted by science, both before and after he made them. Gore can show sincerity in his plea for scientific honesty by publicly acknowledging where science has rebutted his claims.
For example, Gore claims that Himalayan glaciers are shrinking and global warming is to blame. Yet the September 2006 issue of the American Meteorological Society's Journal of Climate reported, "Glaciers are growing in the Himalayan Mountains, confounding global warming alarmists who recently claimed the glaciers were shrinking and that global warming was to blame."
Gore claims the snowcap atop Africa's Mt. Kilimanjaro is shrinking and that global warming is to blame. Yet according to the November 23, 2003, issue of Nature magazine, "Although it's tempting to blame the ice loss on global warming, researchers think that deforestation of the mountain's foothills is the more likely culprit. Without the forests' humidity, previously moisture-laden winds blew dry. No longer replenished with water, the ice is evaporating in the strong equatorial sunshine."
Gore claims global warming is causing more tornadoes. Yet the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change stated in February that there has been no scientific link established between global warming and tornadoes.
Gore claims global warming is causing more frequent and severe hurricanes. However, hurricane expert Chris Landsea published a study on May 1 documenting that hurricane activity is no higher now than in decades past. Hurricane expert William Gray reported just a few days earlier, on April 27, that the number of major hurricanes making landfall on the U.S. Atlantic coast has declined in the past 40 years. Hurricane scientists reported in the April 18 Geophysical Research Letters that global warming enhances wind shear, which will prevent a significant increase in future hurricane activity.

Lies all lies. Everyone knows the Sun Times is a paleo-right wing propaganda rag.

I haven't seen it, but I've read quite a few comments written by it on this site.

so let's recap. al gore, privileged son of of a powerful political family, gets into an elite ivy league university solely on his father's connections. (an SAT score lower than george W. bush certainly wasn't what sealed the deal for him, we can be sure.) while at his elite ivy league university, gore exhibits a profoundly mediocre mind at work, cranking out a grade-point average lower than known simpleton george w. bush.
later, in a laughably vain attempt to appear soulful, gore enters divinity school and flunks out almost instantly. the uptight, old-fashioned buzzkill friars weren't all that impressed with "who his daddy was", it seemed.
and now, it seems, his tawdry little psuedoscientific book of scary stories is proving to be full of - we'll be charitable here - "inaccuracies".
can we call him 'stupid' NOW??? or do we just call him 'LIAR'?? gotta be one or the other. or - he IS a democrat, mind - or both.

He has Banty-Rooster Complex. I know he's an oaf and doesn't fit the physical profile, but that's what he has. And he's not even very good at it.

On the surface of the facts presented in his book/movie, he may not be that smart. But, consider how much dumber all the people are who have bought into his overhyped scare-tactics.
Now, if he had parlayed his approach into the threat posed by the approaching Hubbert global oil peak (and provided some answers to it), he'd have not only made more money, but also might not have come off as such as seemingly ignorant windbag.

Seek,
The scariest line - *no matter* the event, situation..... "But, consider how much dumber all the people......"
We need a King. Just for a while. And we need a little reality hardship - not in the form of taxes - to get the dumbwads back to earth. The dems count on that dumbness. They exist because of it.
