Update: Aww, poor libs ... hey, any news on that very old truthwhatever dot org story on Karl Rove being frog marched out of the White House over Plame? No? I thought not. Looks like this one may be a bust for you, too.
No, it's in the emails we tell you, the AG emails, yeah, that's the ticket. LMAO
Sounds like the "20/20" piece won't be as salacious or sensational as your inner Schadenfreude may have hoped for. Sources tell The Sleuth not a single elected official has been implicated in this case. At least not as of early this afternoon.
The name of a legal secretary who has lost her job as a result of the DC Madam scandal isn't provided and isn't important. The Blotter appears to have a typo in the name of the firm:
A legal secretary at one of Washington's most prominent and well-connected law firms, Akin Gump Strauss Houer(sic) & Feld LLP, has been suspended after telling her bosses she secretly worked at night for the escort service run by the so-called D.C. Madam, Jeane Palfrey.
Here are the comparable payscales for employees at the firm, though they omit current or previous heavy hitters such as, Tom Foley, Vernon Jordan Jr., Ken Mehlman, Robert S. Strauss, Tommy Thompson, Former associates David Catania, and George P. Bush for privacy concerns.
According to e-mails the woman sent to Palfrey on her Akin Gump account, she "enjoyed and even missed" the work she did at night for Palfrey, who has been charged by federal prosecutors with running a large scale prostitution ring.
"Perhaps not the weekly grind, but was thinking that a day a week would be fun and spa money," the legal secretary wrote to Palfrey last year, after Palfrey had closed her business and was considering whether to re-open it.
So far, in what may be an imploding story, all ABC has done is nail one relatively insignificant political appointee and hurt the little guy girl. Way to go, ABC. Maybe you can hire what may be additional unemployed office workers in DC who can't afford to lawyer up like their clients can to do the heavy lifting for you next time you agree to do the legal research in a sensational news story.

Yet ANOTHER victory for you cons. The Decider should be seeing 34% approval ratings soon! Congratulations!
Thank you for your service!

Wait, is Dan talking about the five million emails the White House lost? The ones they are required by law to keep? Or the GSA conference in which Rove ran political plays by government employees on the tax-payer's dime in direct violation of the Hatch Act?
I can never keep all the scandals straight.

"I can never keep all the scandals straight."
I'll help - Hatch Act - see al gore and his fund raising scheme. But then as Captain Climate failed at the seminary and law school, we shouldn't really expect too much of him.
Vice President Al Gore recently was caught with his hand in the fundraising cookie jar. Although he admits mistakes were made, Gore claims the White House counsel cleared his actions. To the contrary!
Vice President Al Gore ignored advice from the White House counsel when he solicited funds from big donors, according to a 1995 White House legal memo. And the first lady's chief of staff, Maggie Williams, may have committed a similar violation. Her actions occurred before the memo, but the memorandum itself purports only to interpret and apply existing law.
In ignoring that advice, Gore may have violated a federal law prohibiting fund-raising activities in federal buildings. The April 27, 1995, memo written by then-White House Counsel Abner J. Mikva to the White House Office of Policy Development and Office of the Vice President provided legal guidelines for federal employees regarding fundraising. The memo warned that violating the guidelines can result in criminal convictions, punishable by prison and substantial fines.
The White House press office provided the Mikva memo to Insight upon which Gore claims he relied when deciding it was legal to solicit funds while sitting in his White House office in an action that has been described by critics as "dialing for dollars." Gore attended Vanderbilt University Law School from 1974 to 1976 but did not earn a law degree.

You know what they should do, Dan? They should prosecute him for it. You had six years, with a Republican Congress, Presidency, and a right-leaning primed and ready. It would have been easy to gather the mountain of evidence you claim you've got against Gore and actually throw the man in prison for his transgressions.
Except no one will actually try that, because Al Gore didn't actually violate the Hatch Act, and these charges are as trumped up as any thrown at Clinton or Reid or Pelosi or Dean. That's why we've got at least two different former Republican Congressmen and a Republican advisor to the VP on their way to prison at the peak of a Republican Administration. Because Republicans really do break the law. Democrats just get empty allegations thrown at them during election cycles.

While working for the federal and local government from 77 until 86, I was well aware I could not show any kind of public support or raise funds or make a donation to any candidate running for elected office.
kelvin do your polls make you bigger, better? Because you sure as hell cannot speak on your own beliefs with your poll in hand. Come on pal, give us more than one liners........... And if you haven't noticed yet, PRESIDENT BUSH does not give a flying crap about standings. His job is more important than kissing public ass. Unlike your boie clinton, who found kissing ass more important than his executive duties while in office. You won't understand that. All you are concerned about is yourself. Well guess what lil boie, America has always been a country made of people with honor. Something you seem to be missing. You and your generation have no clue what it means to be American. Maybe, just maybe if your parents had any morals, other than letting you be a free thinker you would have amounted to something. Stop trying to fix america, because AMERICA is as good as it ever was.
