And it comes from some of the people who matter most - especially when it comes to money. Though I wouldn't necessarily see Novak as a purely objective source in reporting it. I have no idea what, if any, his own motivations might be for pushing a particular Republican candidate in 08. As I said at the time, don't rule Romney out. He's very sharp, is raising money, is qualified and may be the one who wants it most.
''It was not Reaganesque.'' ''No red meat.'' ''Too low key.'' That was the preponderant reaction I heard to Thompson's half-hour presentation (leavened by a few favorable comments, mostly by women, that he was more ''statesmanlike'' and ''presidential'' than the announced candidates). Lincoln Club members, like many conservative Republicans, had been unimpressed by the existing field of Republican hopefuls and envisioned Thompson as the second coming of Ronald Reagan. They did not get it Friday night.

Please no more actors. A poker player would be just fine though.

Novak has a well-known liberal bias.
Didn't you ever watch Crossfire? He and Paul Begala practically made out on-stage.

Robert Novak hates the troops and America. He should go back to France.

Consider the source. I suspect Novak has a shed full of axes to grind against Fred Thompson.
Especially as this directly conflicts with reactions to the speech that have been communicated to me.

I like ol' Fred, but how is his voting record? Did he vote to expand NAFTA? Perhaps, he is for securing the border. From what I have read, Fred is a gobalist, not a Nationalist. I'm sorry folks, let's look closer at his voting record.

Romney is dead in the water. Too many "flip-flops," plus there is a solid and unyielding large core of voters who will not vote for a Mormon under any circumstances. Count me as one of them.
The candidates all need to stop invoking Reagan and start acting like they are aware of the issues in 21st century America, quite frankly.
