France, typically, wetting its underpants over the prospect of violence accompanying their elections. Interesting that around the world such threats always come from states with socialists on the ticket. The broader and deeper the socialism, the worse the threat.
In another piece, I found this below interesting.
At a polling station near the Champs-Elysees in Paris, unemployed voter Anne Combemale said she had chosen Mr Sarkozy because of his market-oriented economic platform.
"He has the willpower to change France," the 43-year-old said.
In Argenteuil, the town north-west of Paris where Mr Sarkozy notoriously talked of hosing out "rabble" before the 2005 urban riots, Doratine Ekoka, a 70-year-old retired computer programmer, said she trusted Ms Royal to "clean up public life".
More than 3,000 police have been deployed in Paris and its multi-ethnic suburbs to prevent a repeat of the 2005 riots if, as many expect, Nicolas Sarkozy celebrates a victory on Sunday night.
The reportedly incompetent Royal most likely isn't going to "clean up" anything. And I doubt more socialism will do France any good given the level to which its fallen. If they elect Sarkozy, the more pro-America of the two, they will be shifting right economically and toward a purportedly more law and order style regime. The French hate Bush and America so much, they want to be more like them. I think I get it now.

Expect allegations of Bush/Rove and RNC oversight of Sarkozy voter fraud efforts to surface shortly.
