Right on BB. Mark Styne also wrote a great article on May 1. His thesis, which of course he puts much better than I could, is basically this: the enemy is uninterested in and not at all good at, logic. Instead they are blindly dedicated to their cause, our defeat and their victory. That means they will win while we sit around trying to make debating points. As he kind of puts it: a sharp and sarcastic wit like Oscar Wilde would have no chance in a subway car late at night against a tough young man with a knife. It can be found through PJM today.

Would anyone please explain to me how the "jihadist" threat we face today is any more difficult to deal with than the crime waves we faced in the 80s or the gang problems of the 90s? Do you think the Crips and the Bloods, or for that matter the John Gottis and the Cosa Nostra, were somehow less dangerous and less destructive on a whole? And yet you guys always manage to completely pass out from terror at every new "emerging threat", then run off and invade 3rd World countries in the Middle East, telling yourselves that killing Saddam/Assad/Ahmadinejad will save us all.

It's both breath-takingly paranoid and breath-takingly stupid. I can't wait for Democrats to take back the reigns and actually solve the Islamicist problem, rather than just talking big and getting our troops killed.

What is really amazing is the fact that we can have these guys on film, plain as the nose on your face, saying things about gays and women that would have anyone else in jail and yet these immams get a pass. Not just a pass they have libs that will sit there watch the tape and then look you right in the eye and say thats not what they mean or they didn't really say that. We are living in a surreal time in this country.
I think Matt and Tray of South Park did a very good episode that sums this all up. They showed everyone terrified of muslims but instead everyone burried their heads in the sand. Then they showed that the left in this country finds it perfectly alright to make fun of other groups just not muslims. If you get a chance watch it.

Why is it Zifnab you are willing to believe as fact that there is a vast right wing neocon plot to take over the world when not one neocon leader has gotten on tv and said " we the neocons will take over the world ". And yet, you sit here and ignore and deny such statements from muslims? Major islamic leaders get up in front of TV cameras and make those kinds of statements. What is it about them that makes you not believe them when they say those things. Why don't you think they mean it. Why can't you accept the idea that even if you don't think they mean it many angry, young muslim men do? i believe evan sayet has posted some really good, thought-provoking commentary as to why liberals - champions of women, gays, and mental defectives; enemy of state-sponsored religion above all things - why liberals reflexively defend the system - islam - that features hatred towards *everything* they say they stand for. witness ziffy's pavlovian defense of the islamic dogs: "sure they systematically beat women and hang queers, but look at the crips! and the mafia! and at least they're not as bad as bush!!"

Barrasso the first step in stopping it and curing it is to get everyone thats not a muslim to get on the same page. We need to stop being in such denial about the fact that there is a serious attempt by a rather substancial group of muslims to impose their view of things on the rest of the world. The use every means at their disposal both peaceful and violent. Once we in the West can agree that its a problem we can talk about the solutions. We have to go after this in the schools, in the homes and anywhere else it pops up. We can't just treat this like a simple crime any more nor like the mob. We need to go after it just like we went after the Klan in the 60's. We broke them to a large extent, not perfectly by any stretch, but we really knocked them into the dirt where they belonged. Watch Mississippi Burning some time and see how Hackman handled those guys and you see how I want to go.
