Far from conclusive of anything, really, but the lawyer demanding confidentiality for his "government witness" client is a Democrat. Gave to Kerry. His most prominent previous client was a Dem CFO of Fannie Mae, J. Timothy Howard, who I am not suggesting is linked to this case. But this particular lawyer does seem to run with the Democrats.
Howard walked away with millions and a pension despite financial problems at Fannie Mae.
Howard, whose resignation is officially viewed as a retirement, stands to walk away with an annual pension of more than $400,000, plus lifetime access to Fannie Mae's medical benefits. He is also owed more than $4 million in stock options.
Howard's attorney, Steven Salky, called the allegations against his client "a politically motivated attempt to rewrite history."
