Update: PJM is tracking, look for updates there.
I realize that the reported death of al-qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Ayyub al-Masri is unconfirmed, if not actually dubious. But, just in case, ABC News couldn't even wait for confirmation to begin down playing any possible good news out of Iraq. (see screencap)
Would it matter, they ask in the story banner but don't broach that issue in their story, yet. I imagine we have to give them points for not attempting to fully undermine any possible good news from Iraq ... at least not until it's confirmed.

Answer:
No.
By all means keep the 'good news' coming though!

Lefties don't want good news from Iraq. They are fully invested in the failure of the Bush administration and the US image abroad. They will deny any progress that might emerge from our efforts there.
Let's see:
Saudi terror plot thwarted
Iranian gun runners captured
Major AQ ops leader sent to gitmo
AQ Iraq leader killed
British terror plot stopped
These are all developments from this past week. Sorry if I think people who deny the radical islamic terror threat is real, and blame our "failure" in Iraq on President Bush are flaming idiots.
Here is another piece of levelheaded analysis from the NYT of all places.
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/01/opinion/01west.html
It is written by a two tour Iraq vet. Note that the dems realize pulling out of Iraq is a stupid idea...but they can't tell their base that because they have created a slobbering pack of pavlovian dogs that only respond to shrill cries of "Bush Lied." The mainstream media supports the left in their desire to create political disharmony in the interest of taking power from the right.
The truth matters not to these people. But the truth is that we are in a long, difficult war, Iraq is one battlefield and we will be there for a decade or more. That is the right thing to do, our grandkids will thanks us. Libs can't see the big picture.

Good comment, ET. Henny Youngman wannabe, zerodegreesKelvin, wouldn't agree, but that is expected and further evidence it was good.

Such an angry bunch of troop-supporters.
Thankfully, I found something to fill you with patriotism.

You're welcome.

nobody's angry on our side, calvin. Things getting better will drive your butt-buddies nuts in the near future...of course, you pull a tired old article from FOUR YEARS AGO. You are truly brillaint and an enlightened debater.
Rant on! Lunatic.

Such a moronic, rabid America-hater (BoobInStamford).

"Thankfully, I found something to fill you with patriotism."
Good times, good times.
Of course, I remember when they killed Zarkawi, heralding in another corner turned and another victory in Iraq. Strangely, the violence still hasn't stopped yet.
Maybe if we kill even more Al-Qaida terrorists we'll win. I mean, we've been doing it for the past four years and look at how Iraq has improved since we invaded.
Meanwhile:

"The largest bloc of Sunni Arabs in the Iraqi Parliament threatened to withdraw its ministers from the Shiite-dominated cabinet on Monday in frustration over the government’s failure to deal with Sunni concerns."
Victory is at hand!

Yes we are done for. Our troops tried hard, but were defeated at the Battle of...of...the Battle of...? Gee, I can't recall. Funny, when you lose you usually know how and where. The enemy surely remembers Iraq One and the Battle of Baghdad, and the several battles to depose the Taliban. Oh well, it'll come to me.

That's what they said about Vietnam. They also cheered over how we totally beat back that Tet Offensive. And let me tell you, 30 years later, isn't it a shame we retreated from Saigon. Modern day Vietnam is just a nightmare of tourism and bombing capitalist industry.

That's it Zif, ignore the parts of history that prove you wrong. Pretend that when we left and the DEMS cut off funding to SVN that no one died, was tortured, worked to death, etc. Yes, us leaving was such a good thing. (roll eyes) You must be 14 years old considereing the lack of intelligence you routinely display.
Little Bitch in Stamford, good new really upsets you, doesn't it? Good.

Why Ms Ziffy, I didn't know you likie Viet Nam. It is number one, eh, number ten? It is the nicest little totalitarian state one could find. Of course they had to kill and jail lots and lots of folks to keep everything in order. A great place for you and all the little Ziffers. Get yourself a nice 2-bedroom condo on the beach. Bye.

When I was in Vietnam last year I met an older Vietnamese guy who had served in the South Vietnamese
army during the war, and was subsequently sent to a prison camp for indoctrination after the North
took over following the US withdrawal. I asked him which was worse, fighting in the war or
the time in prison camp that followed. He didn't hesitate for a second. "The camp," he said.

My dearest Calvin-Bobby.
I love you. I want you. I need you.
I want to kiss your pee pee.
Could you put some WD40 on your stomach so it doesn't pull my hair out when I'm on my knees, please?
