I have no desire to ship gays or gay children off to re-education camps. That's more in line with what some of you commies liked to do back in the day (USSR) and continue to do now (the modern public education system). Consider then, that Islam tends to stifle innovation and anything that is not referenceable from the Hadiths or the Quran.

Mind you, we have our "flat earthers" ... but they are very much the minority, and so far, it is the Christians of the West who have lead the way for much of the technological and artistic and musical and industrial advances of the world for at least the past five or six centuries. And we have certainly had our moments, particularly in the heyday of the Roman Papacy. Unlike Islam though, we've moved onward, and now there are far more Christians who truly know and understand God's word than ever.

Most Muslims memorize the Qu'ran by rote, in Classical Arabic, which is about as useful as Classical Latin is to us today. And add on to that, that the Qu'ran is about the diametric opposite of the Bible in terms of its message. The Qu'ran - especially the second half (and I have read it) is filled with hatred and venom toward those not of the "Dar Al-Islam".

The Bible on the other hand, especially the New Testament ... is Jesus' love letter to the world.

As for the Islamic world, they are frozen somewhere in the twelfth century AD, with a smattering of Western things held on with a death-grip by the Muslim elites.

As for converting them forcibly, who said anything about that? I do believe they should hear the gospel, and I do believe that Islam is an enemy ideology that poses a threat to our security, and I suffer no compunction about seeing enemy strongholds (masjids, mosques, and Islamist community centers) shut down or turned over to churches or other non-Islamic charities where they will do something other than pipeline Saudi oil money in and pipeline trained killers out. If they want to practice Islam, there are scores of Sharia practicing countries to choose from.

As for cults of Mithra, or why certain holidays are celebrated on certain days, that was set up ages ago by the Roman See, in hopes of lining up Christian observances with popular pagan holidays. But I know, you "edju-mah-cated" liberal types see all religion as folly anyway, and are inclined to think yourselves wiser than He who created you.
