White Privilege? Give Me A Break

via Opinion Journal - talk about gag me with a spoon. This stuff is sick.

The Seattle School District is sending students to a 'white privilege' conference The diversity gathering in Colorado will highlight "the destructive power" of whiteness and empower students to tackle "oppression."

Oh yeah, I can hardly wait to register. But waiting would be good, after all, I'm white. These people are dangerous. If you want to know why we still have the race issues we do in America today, look no further than this garbage.

The White Privilege Conference

The annual White Privilege Conference (WPC) serves as a yearly opportunity to examine and explore difficult issues related to white privilege, white supremacy and oppression. WPC provides a forum for critical discussions about diversity, multicultural education and leadership, social justice, race/racism, sexual orientation, gender relations, religion and other systems of privilege/oppression. WPC is recognized as a challenging, empowering and educational experience. The workshops, keynotes and institutes not only inform participants, but engage and challenge them, while providing practical tips and strategies for combating inequality.

I refuse to link to that site. What I want to know can be gleaned from that sentence: What is 'destructive'; Who gets empowered?; Who does the tackling?"; and Who is oppressed?

This is the best reason for homeschooling your children yet. I thought I had heard the best when the one school there outlawed Legos because it taught ownership. Can you believe that, teaching kids that things might belong to them can't have any of that. Now though to be teaching white children that they are basically underserving of success and that everything that is done by white people is bad, wow. The people in the rest of Washington just need to dig a big ditch around Seattle and let the place implode.

Oh, yeah, Seattle, where they just happened to come up with a few hundred extra votes that changed the outcome of an election, and let a few hundred felons vote, too, but couldn't determine who they might have voted for.

Maybe when white people stop acting like they own the world, they can finally put this whole "white supremacy" thing behind them. It seems that if one wantonly shoots and kills a cop in Panama City Beach, FL, one could be found guilty and sentenced to death, even if one acts like one owns the world. Let's see, when I was Ziffy's age no one offered me 20 extra points on a college entrance exam to meet a quota. So I took 5 years of experience and applied for a job which I could not have because I was NOT fresh out of high school and black, never held a job in my life. I dont blame the employer though, the CETA program was paying half of the other guy's salary to equal the playing field. Went back to school, even though busing tables paid me too much to get a PEL grant without kids out of wedlock. Still, I'm very privileged to give up nearly half my income to support such worthy programs as "It's all whitey's fault"

Phoenix, I noted that one of the former hippy, guilty white women speakers for this conference is to talk about how whitey has no right to claim reverse discrimination. So I guess we have no chance. On the other hand, now that two southern states and a southern president have apologized for slavery.....will Massachusetts be next? Since they started slaery in America and all, seems only fitting.
