Oh man, this is just pathetic. Imus better retire. After saying yessir and nosir to the likes of Sharpton on air, what credibility can he have left? And with Jackson beating Sharpton to Obama, Reverend Al needs an issue. He might not be too quick to let this one go.
Here’s Imus submitting to Sharpton on the latter’s nationally syndicated radio show today. It’s cringe-inducing on so many levels it’s hard to know where to start.
What's so bad about two weeks off when you have enough bucks and three fancy houses? Please. I'm not saying he should be fired, I don't really care. But suspension? Isn't that reserved for high school kids?
CBS Radio and MSNBC both said they were suspending Imus’ morning talk show for two weeks following his reference last week to members of the Rutgers women’s basketball team as “nappy-headed hos.”

Prediction: Imus hits rehab by the weekend.

With the Rev'd Al's background, it is totally outrageous that he even has a radio show on which Imus could appear. The fat turd has not only used outrageous "words," but unlike Imus, Sharpton has by his actions contributed directly to the deaths of nearly a dozen people in NYC, including seven when he led a mob against a Korean-run store in upper Manhattan. And that fat turd has actually run for President as a Democrat, appearing in many debates alongside other so-called respectable Democrats.

Did you see Hannity screeching and preening tonight. He should be suspended forever.
I did cringe at some of what Imus had to go through, but he did fight back. Two weeks suspension for him was a bone.
Maybe Hannity will get a couple of the nappy headed ho's on his show to look hurt and offended. Then we can all get really pissed.
Posted by: Phoenix | Monday, April 09, 2007 at 10:33 PM
Yes, Sean "Whitest Man in America" Hannity really has alot of room to muscle in on this conversation. After all, Imus is one of his boyz. The right-wing whine-fest crewmates need to stick together. Can't let the man keep the perpetually repressed right, white, wanna-be cowpoke talk-show host down.
Isn't there a dead ex-supermodel someone could be covering? Do we really need to give these dinosaurs more screen time?

It's outrageous that a bunch of nappy-headed hos were able to force from the airwaves a voice as powerful as Imus. I call on all Democrats to join with me in denouncing this outrage.
Posted by: George W. Bush | Monday, April 09, 2007 at 11:18 PM
I call on the nappy head ho's to shave their crotch and prove they are real women. After all, no better way to join with Sharpton and Jesse than showing what a real pussy is.

America has pretty much reached the point where any pretense of apology or retraction is useless.
Every word spoken and any movement by an interesting person is subject to recording and examination. Anything that can, by any stretch of the imagination, be deemed offensive will be. However, Imus made things easy this time.
In general the left understands the media situation and uses it more skillfully. The proper defense after poor behavior is now to enter rehab and reeducation. This is a revival of the older idea that devils possess and seduce good people into sin. One must point to an acceptable devil; here are a few - alcohol, drugs (always used first for legitimate physical pain), being upset about the death of nearly any relative/friend within the last five years, confusion or preoccupation (very good when caught shoplifting), parental abuse (recovered memories a bonus), fast food. Also select one of more of these: the war, red states, red necks, concern about suffering in Africa, apartheid in Palestine, oil profits, or global warming.
Imus was able to say pretty much whatever he wanted for years. He probably concluded he could therefore say pretty much what he wanted. Not so. He cannot now save himself. But he may escape if attention goes elsewhere - Iran nukes Israel, Jo Lo is pregnant, Jolie doesn't adopt a baby, Jupiter collides with Mars.

Don Imus as a liberal for some reason did not get the free pass.

Z,Imus is one of your liberals.

See a tongue-in-cheek visual of Imus and his newfound buddy, Michael Richards, hanging out and counting sheep...here:

High definition flat panel TV - $4,800.00
Plush Lazy-Boy chair - $1,200.00
Bottle of Oban 12 year-old Single Malt Whiskey - $48.00
Sitting down comfortably to watch "nappy-headed" welfare pimp Al Sharpton feigning outrage over his "tattoed nappy hos," playing the race card, and ripping a fawning, repentant, Imus headed for "political correctness rehab." - Priceless!
For all other pathetic displays surrounding this farce, there is Master Card.

"Z,Imus is one of your liberals."
Yeah, him and Joe Lieberman. We all meet up down at the ACLU to have gay abortions and recycle bibles into grocery bags (cause burning them would be bad for the environment). Then we put on our cowboy hats and call people "nappy hoes" to jack up our dying ratings.
Banned for two weeks? I'll be surprised if anyone notices once the media feeding frenzy finds another corpse to feed on.

Reverend Sharpton should not get himself so overwrought on Imus' comments, and lighten up a bit - perhaps he can borrow the "batty-scaphy" machine Michael Jackson uses for that purpose; and it works too! Forget the "nappy-headed." God only knows Michael has not only lightened up a bit, but is well on his way to becoming "Nordic" by now using it.

Well we could hope for the best, which is that someone with half a brain at MSNBC puts a conservative in his spot. If they wanted their ratings to go up the should put Savage or Tammy Bruce in his spot.

"If they wanted their ratings to go up the should put Savage or Tammy Bruce in his spot."
Haha! I totally hope so. Between those two and Beck, they could just start a new 24-hour news channel and call it the KKK.

Zif actually thinks that Lieberman isn't a lib. Too funny. Yup, all those votes in lockstep with the Dems just disappeared when he dared to support the war. Zif, you are an excellent mindless drone.

Little fish get fired like Al Campanis and Jimmy the Greek. And the Greaseman. Big fish like Imus do not get fired. There is too much money at stake. Plus he is totally connected with the heads of NBC,MSNBC,and CBS and all the media types that appear on his show. It will be interesting to see who his friends really are. McCain says he will appear on the Imus show and he accepts Imus's apology. Cal Ripken who was scheduled to be on later this week to push a book has cancelled.
But what about Tim Russert,Howard Fineman,Jeff Greenfield,Walter Issacson,Howard Kurtz,Andrea Mitchell,Frank Rich,Jonathan Alter. et al. Do you see a pattern here?
Posted by: nova | Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 10:42 AM
Wonder if this will hurt his ratings. After all the "rebel" just bent over and gave it up like a lefty. Not much of a "rebel".
Posted by: Hard Right | Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 10:42 AM
Zifnab you and your pals are the ones who use racist language all the time. I wouldn't be suprised if you have your grand kleagel outfit tucked away for just the right time. Burn on zif.
Posted by: southdakotaboy | Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 11:44 AM
You know, Imus didn't say anything racist. Sexist yes, but racist? What BS.
Posted by: Hard Right | Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 12:55 PM
On the lighter side of this farce, here is a comment made by a notorious black "Rapper" on MTV about the recent Imus incident:
"Me and my niggas and homies are deeply insulted that whitey cracker Imus would call our "Hos" "nappy headed Hos"! It is an outrage! What did the racist pig expected our Hos to do, wear hair relaxant before the game?!?! It would have dripped into their eyes while playing, with all the damn sweating! The fool! (Gotta make this into a rap song and sell 10 million copies to stupid middle-class, whitey, black-wannabe, incipient gangsta-rappers, with an identity crisis!)"
(Don't get all uptight like Sharpton now. It's just a joke)

They got Imus by the Co-Ho-Ness. That'll teach him. Nothing like threatening a man's moneyline. The Mo-Fo gets real polite.
Posted by: Mao | Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 11:52 PM
if imus had any balls at all, he'd say, "screw you clowns. i'm rich enough; i won't apologize."
then lawyer up, and recite lyrics from the richly poignant 'NWA' and 'snoop dogg' ouvre - verbatim, mind you - on his show. and then dare them to fire him.
but then, he's a liberal. of course he'll cave: just like fellow liberal michael richards, he'll grovel & smooch sharpton ass & enter re-education camp. "i don't know what happened! *that's* not me! i LOVE big brother! and black folks too!"

Imus should just tell them to Johnny Paycheck it...........Take this job and shove It, I aint working here no more.........I have heard him say alot worse on his show; his mistake was taking on a group of young women who were not public figures and who presented a virginal image for REv Al and Happy Hooker Jessee to expound upon. Tell em to all go fuk themselves and go XM/Sirrus Don.....
