Well, look what our little shaver is up to now, isn't he cute?
MAMARONECK, N.Y. (AP) - Democrat John Edwards got a taste of low-wage life Wednesday, rising before dawn to help to dress, shave and deliver breakfast to elderly residents of a nursing home outside New York City.
His visit was part of the "Work a Day in My Shoes" program sponsored by the influential Service Employees International Union, where presidential candidates spend time with health care workers to understand the challenges of their jobs.
This is so pathetic. How is it any different than John Kerry walking off to allegedly hunt geese in hunting clothes that have never been worn? It isn't like Edwards has a clue what living a life as this or that type of worker is all about. And I find this brand of political theater demeaning to the people who participate along with the candidates.
Our government is huge, complex. It takes a manager, an executive - a host of qualities. But it does not require someone who can or will shave old people in a nursing home. Look at him, Mr. Concentration ... this dude is so freaking juvenile, he's scary. Would someone please get him off the political stage now?
I mean, after all, if that guy getting a shaved were a Republican or owned a gun, there's no telling what Edwards might do, right?

"this dude is so freaking juvenile, he's scary. Would someone please get him off the political stage now?"
Note without *cough Dixie Clits cough* comment.

"Our government is huge, complex. It takes a manager, an executive - a host of qualities."
Um, what qualities would you say that George Bush has???

Edwards isn't lying about how he's going to cut our taxes or bullshitting about hydrogen powered cars or clearing brush at the ranch he just bought last week or anything. He's doing charity work! Charity work! That bastard!
If there's one thing I can't stand, its a politician doing good deeds in the community, ESPECIALLY during an election year, when they should spend it exclusively hosting top-dollar fundraising dinners or speaking at Bob Jones Unversity to alumni that represent real Americans.
Damn you John Edwards! How dare you run for President as a Democrat! *shakes fist in furry*

what qualities
He was elected - twice. That's all the qualities he needs at this point, dipstick.
Posted by: Dan Riehl | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 02:33 PM
Elected - twice are qualities? Are what you really saying is that he is an unqualified boob? Its ok, after all guys like you elected him-twice.
Posted by: Kelvin | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 02:37 PM
Zif,
Why are you shaking your fist in something furry? Is it a beaver or a muskrat?

Um, what qualities would you say that George Bush has???
Posted by: Kelvin |
I know one! He doesn't give a shit what you think, Kelvin.
Posted by: St.Phoenix | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 02:45 PM
i'm just waiting for the debates. when edwards can tell warm, folksy stories about back when he "was a young lawyer chasing ambulances. there i'd be in my car, parked near the hospital, listening to the police scanner...."
lets recap: he can drive; he can operate a police scanner; and he'll do anything for money. naturally, to the democrats, this makes him a FINE candidate for president.
note to ziffy: ah, boyo, i got quite the chuckle at reading your little funny. the mental picture of you shaking your tiny fist! stamping your wee little foot! made me day, truly it did.

"He was elected - twice. That's all the qualities he needs at this point, dipstick."
Haha, that's the best you can come up with, and it's only half-true. Wow.
You forgot to mention that he breathes, though.

Hey, wait a sec. Wasn't Bill Clinton elected twice?
Posted by: scarshapedstar | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 02:51 PM
Its funny how the lemmings cannot point to a single presidential quality embodied by the guy they elected-twice.
Posted by: Kelvin | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 02:53 PM
Now, Dan, you know it's important to our liberal friends that the Breck girl look good. After all, he's now safe in NYC, where crime doesn't exist, and has escaped from the wilds of No. Carolina, where rednecks with shotguns are on the prowl for women dying of cancer and parasitic trial lawyers. Gee, Dan, you need to get with the program, which is to show Brecky in the best of light.
Posted by: templar knight | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 04:11 PM
Speaking of rednecks, take a look at the Edwards' neighbor.

This guy is what I imagine most of the posters on here to look like. Scary-ass rednecks!
Posted by: Kelvin | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 04:18 PM
Yeah, Kelvin, with shotguns, looking to get you 'libruls, and give you your due. And we don't even have 'lectricity, so how do we use these new-fangled computer stuff, and all? It's one of them mysteries of life, Kelvin.
Oh, boo! Us scary-ass rednecks done scared wittle Kelvin. We oughts to be ashamed. Now, let's cut him up for dinner.

--Its funny how the lemmings cannot point to a single presidential quality embodied by the guy they elected-twice.
I'll throw out a few:
Loyalty, Steadfastness, Discipline, Honesty, Integrity
There you go, kelvinpuppet. What qualities do you calim for your man Edwards?
Posted by: ET | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 04:45 PM
"Loyalty, Steadfastness, Discipline, Honesty, Integrity"
Loyalty: To Donald Rumsfeld? Good call there.
Steadfastness: You mean like 'Stay the Course'. Also, a masterful decision.
Honesty: "Yellowcake, blah, blah, blah. WMDs, blah, blah, blah, Imminent Threat, blah, blah, blah." Yup.
Discipline: Cocaine abuse, DWIs etc. Um, ok.
Integrity: See above.
As I was saying, you guys voted for a complete boob. Game over.
Posted by: Kelvin | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 04:51 PM
just because Edwards has succeeded in life more than you Dan, doesn't mean he has no "clue what living a life as this or that type of worker is all about." Read a little of his biography, do a little research for once!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Edwards
the man earned his riches in the stereotypical "american dream" fashion and all you can do is shit on him for being successful and not a conservative. The irony in all this, is that it is Dan Riehl who has no idea what it's like to work a real job. Cashing another check from Scaife on Thursday I wager. It's you who doesn't work, and hasn't worked for a long time. But yes, repeat the lines your masters give you, I can see the cons are ignorantly gorging themselves on it.

Oh, and Johnny Boy just happened to have a photographer along for this stunt. What a scumbag. Now, if he did this little bit without trying to get publicity from it . . . but then, of course, nobody would have know and what good would that have done him or his worthless campaign? Just another photo op for the POS Breck Girl.

Dear Kelvin,
Let's take them one at a time:
Loyalty: Bush is loyal to his friends, perhaps to a fault. He stands by his friends in his personal and professional lives. This is an admirable quality, no matter how you pervert it.
Steadfastness: Yep. Stay the course. He is doing the courageous thing by sticking with an unpopular, but ultimately just, conflict. Compare that to your democratic leaders, who change their positions in response to opinion polls in a successful attempt to get morons like to to elect them, and then do NOTHING of consequence to actually stop the war they say they oppose. I'll take GWB every fucking day.
Honesty: Bush never lied about WMD. He was mistaken, like the rest of the international intel community. There is a difference there that your little mind cannot grasp. Also, joe wilson is a documented liar and all around creep. Congreessional testimony indicates the Iraqis sought uranium in Niger. Look it up. If you don't think there is an imminent threat to western society from islamic extremism, you are just a fool.
Discipline: Here is a guy who completely gave up alchohol and (some allege)drug use to better himself. He now stays on a strict diet and fitness regimin, rises early each morning to serve his country as the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet. What did you accomplish today, asshole? Smoke another joint and beat off to a conservative blog? Yep. You are an impressive guy.
Integrity: See above.
Go home, Kelvin. You can't hang here.
Posted by: ET | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 05:21 PM
Oh my. It seems that I offended a great patriot and Bush supporter. Lets recap.
Loyalty: Harriet Myers for SCOTUS. Nice. What a thinker.
Steadfastness: Bring em on! Mission Accomplished! How sad...
Honesty: Oh, he was mistaken! Why is he still feeding you fools lines about Al-Qaeda being linked with Iraq before 9/11? Sorry, stuttering liar alert.
Discipline: Should the reformed drunk/cokehead be rewarded for being on the straight and narrow? Oh, and he rises early because he goes to bed at 8. Not too impressive, sparky.
Integrity: You're doing a heck of a job, Brownie!!!
And Ed, why the personal attacks? You don't like the fact that you and scary rednecks like the guy who live next door to John Edwards are morons and voted for the king of all morons.
Posted by: Kelvin | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 05:33 PM
Kelvin, you are right. You do offend me. You have no intellect, no character and no class.
I answered your question directly. You respond with uninformed talking points and insults. Read a book. Educate yourself. Use the internet for more than blathering on about your general frustration with your sorry life that you project on to a single man. Then maybe I will take you seriously. Until then, I will respond to you with the disrespect you have earned.
I would vote for GWB over John Edwards today, if given the chance. That may illustrate the difference between you and I. And I don't care if you don't get it.
Posted by: ET | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 05:54 PM
But... but... but... John Edwards was a lawyer! A lawyer! We must hate all lawyers at all times! And he's a lawyer doing charity work!
Why does John Edwards hate America so much that he'd be doing charity work? George Bush never does charity work, and he got elected. Twice.
Posted by: Zifnab | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 09:25 PM
Artie, Carl, BobinStamford, Victor = Kelvin.
Time to marginalize the creep, don't you think? Don't respond to him. He gets his jollies when he's noticed. So, don't respond.
Posted by: St.Phoenix | Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 10:27 PM
Answer me this, how is this any different than W donning a flight suit and landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier? Oh wait, I know! It didn't cost the taxpayers a dime.
Posted by: TheSpartan | Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 01:41 PM
always ironic to hear a liberal squealing about government waste. so! we're bitching about bush flying onto a carrier and wasting precious government FILM, are we?
then you must no doubt be just OUTRAGED at pelosi's "look how important i think i am!" junkets to....well, to pretty much everywhere. right, spartan?
odd you didn't say anything about that, though...
Posted by: bloodrage bob | Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 03:00 PM
Actually I wasn't commenting on the film more on the use of an air force jet and the cost of delaying the carriers mission, but no biggie I guess. The initial jist of Dan's post was that Edwards was participating in silly and potentially insulting photo ops. Wouldn't the carrier trip by the flight suited boy wonder qualify as that as well?
