» Don Imus Fired From MSNBC from UrbanGrounds
A conservative? In what universe? The one where he must be a conservative, because any true Liberal would never espouse such racism and hatred (quick, somebody hide the near-corpse of Sen. Robert Byrd)? ... [Read More]

Why cant the America hating leftist be happy with nbc,abc,cbs,cnn,msnbc,cnbc,pbs,npr,nyt,wp,lat,newsweek,time,etc...?

Why can't the corporation loving righties be happy with them, either?

"or more likely parish for being such a weak candidate to start."

Since we're all being spelling nazis, "OMG! DAN IS DUM!"

That would be 'dumb', Scar.

This is bad news for everyone. Everyone - no matter what side. The trouble with playing 'Gotcha' is that your turn ALWAYS comes up.

I still say the best thing that could have come out of this would have been for the Rutgers team to stand up like ladies and say we understand Mr. Imus was not picking on us, but that he was using our language in an effort to be funny. We are actually glad that he did this because it draws attention to the fact our own black men talk to us in this manner and make a lot of money doing it and selling this legacy of abuse to the next generation of black men.

Rise above it! Just someone, some where has to understand that simple concept. It's not about forgiveness - not too many people on this planet are in a position to forgive anyone - but it is about class and grace. Too bad those virtues are anachronisms in our society.

Actually, Dan's spelling of 'parish' for 'perish' was a Freudian slip of the first order. His mind was thinking of Edwards down yonder in his Down Home Parish of Perfection. haw haw...

Is anyone really suprised about this. The Dems will never ever let go of power willingly again. They will do what ever it takes to silence any disent. They will close down conservative radio, tv and newspapers as soon as they can. They are laying the ground work to shut down Fox News.
As far as elections go, well we all saw what happened in Washington where the Dem lost the first two recounts and then miracle of miracles they suddenly find a whole new ballot box. And guess what, thats right folks it had more than enough votes to put things for the Dems. Get ready to see alot more of that in the future everyone.

complain complain complain. Fixed, but I'm usually rushed and or tired so if spell check doesn't come calling you can deal with it, college boy. Editors are good for some things.

surprised about this? Nothing has happened yet.

No one is surprised at wingnuts' paranoid imaginations though

I'm going to remember you wrote the above, LOL. Shutting down opposition is key for the Dems. Think about doing away with the secret ballot in union elections. Shouldn't we do the same with political elections? Hell no. I'd like to hear your case for it.

Yes LOL look at what the Dems and their left wing buddies do to conservative speakers on college campuses. They use any and all means, including violence to stop them. Now that they are in charge of congress they will most likely try it there to Just watch and see.

Really?

I live in southwest Ohio, which is where a famous Republican, Ken Blackwell is from. The man had a wonderfully short career of purging voter registration. A man who used all sorts of legal jujitsu as Ohio Secretary of State to expel voter registrations. One of his most asinine rules? Expelling registration cards with improper paper thickness. His little games with voter registration were struck down by the courts, but not before he had already purged many registrations. Voters showed up at the polls unaware that their names had been removed.

http://www.ca6.uscourts.gov/opinions.pdf/05a0442p-06.pdf

Then there was the out-of-state attack by republicans, sending "challengers" to polling places in low-income neighborhoods. They would stand outside the polling place and demand for incoming voters to prove they were registered. Foolish, because at every polling place there's one dem and one repub watching anyways. The courts struck this down by the 2006 election.

All of this of course, was ostensibly to remove the entrenched liberal voting fraud. You know, registering fake names, dead people, and all these other tactics that died out in the 70's. The problem is, that was a bunch of made up bullshit.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/12/washington/12fraud.html?ei=5065&en=f895e4b1cd467b9d&ex=1176955200&partner=MYWAY&pagewanted=print

Of course the cons here will never admit it. I've still heard paranoid delusions about illegal immigrants voting and whatever. Where's your proof of it cons?

For a more personal story, I worked for a political campaign in 2004 for Ohio, and at one point we were going door-to-door in a poor Dayton neighborhood asking voters about who they will vote for. A woman told me that someone had called her to tell her she was not eligible to vote for the president. They also told her that if it rained on Tuesday, which it ended up doing actually, her polling location would be closed. This is a widespread conservative tactic imo. It happened in 2006 too, here's one instance:

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2006/10/22/state/n171232D25.DTL

I could go on, I haven't even discussed Tom Delay's Texas redistricting...

But suffice to say there is ample evidence of Republican corruption on matters of voting, which is one of the most important freedoms. Whereas you guys only have conjecture about what the democrats will do. Sad.

I know you guys have no problem just making stuff up - according to Business week he gets over 335,000 per hour on the TEEVEE alone, and of course he's a radio guy. www.businessweek.com/the_thread/brandnewday/archives/2005/04/imus_audience_s.html -
No wonder guys like southdakotaboy are so badly informed. It's really a shame.

Hey, bbb, wazzup. You still running that "left-leaning rant"? The guy you are talking about (Imus) is a liberal who supported Kerry in 2004. If you have a problem with Imus go see Howard Dean about it.

Hey Fred - Love it. I bring up a fact. You ignore it.
I don't know if Imus is a liberal or a neo-con. I do know that he said really offensive stuff about college basketball players. I know that liberals think that that's bad, and that conservatives try to figure out ways to blame and further insult the basketball players. It's pretty simple really.

LOL, I tried wading through the last link you provided. If the rest of them are similar, this is no different from Gore's flying lawyers into Florida to try to arrange a special recount that was against Florida's Constitution, as I recall. This is not illegal, as you seemed to imply. Can you point to any convictions for a crime? AS far as Delay-inspired redistricting goes, both parties do this all the time. I feel it is a flawed system, but there is nothing illegal about it, unless you can show something better than what you have above. Wasted space.

I guess you were somewhere else, but the point has been made, not just by me (ever heard of Juan Williams?), that gangsta rappers use this kind of talk in lyrics every day. Personally I don't give a s--t about Imus, but why is it OK for them but not OK for Imus?

John Lennon once wore a Kotex on his head into a bar in NYCity and nobody called him a "kotex-headed 'ho"!

However, when he rudely asked the waitress why she was taking so long with his drink, and did she know who he was, she replied that yes, she knew exactly what he was, "an arsehole with a Kotex on his head"!

So were the girls wearing nappies? or was Imus referring to the "nap" on their heads? and what's a 'ho' anyway? is that like a whore to a black man?

Is it Ok to call the accuser of the Duke boys a "nappy-headed ho?"

nonsense! our liberal friends would NEVER try to stifle the free intercourse of thoughts, speech, and ideas by declaring certain words/concepts "off limits". they stand - as they're forever reminding us - they stand for diversity; and the 1st amendment; gay porn on cable; also they're not hateful tight-butt conservatives.

this is why imus wasn't fired; and why newsweek is featuring the amazingly-infrequently-reported fact that blacks are - statistically speaking - about 8 times more likely than whites to commit murder (on a per-capita basis.)(lemme guess: y'all haven't heard THAT little fact before, right?)

no....wait a second!!....that's NOT what's happening?!?

LOL you say that the fake names, dead people etc.. is all bs. Why is it then that ACORN has employees who are charged and convicted every election year for voter registration fraud? The most recent that comes to mind is what happened in St. Louis where 4 ACORN employees were convicted of falsely registering over 10,000 voters. I think my favorite one though were the ACORN employees who were caught giving out hits of crack to people to register.
The reason those Republicans were standing outside the polls was to prevent multiple voting. The key reason that the Dems block the voter ID laws is they know they would get hit hard come election time. Remember that old Dem saying " Voter early and vote often!"

"demand for incoming voters to prove they were registered"

It is completely unreasonable to actually have only registered voters voting isn't it.

Imus has different segments for his show. But for the political part his guests are lefties.

As for congress becoming run by democrats I'm glad. The republicans were not doing the job so they needed a wake up call. The American people will have two long years watching these lefties go nuts and say enough is enough. In my congressional district a dem. was voted in by a small margin and the rep. he beat was very shrill. The district will go back th a rep. And this will happen all over the country.

The Imus debacle shows the liberal propensity for harming their own causes. There is no one on radio that comes close to Don Imus in terms of the caliber of his guests or the issues he discusses, he also rants and raves against just about everyone. In the liberal desire to show solidarity with their black sisters and show they will not tolerate any kind of 'slur' on black people they seek to remove the single voice on radio that supports their position. The Rev's Jackson and Sharpon want Imus fired, which will leave the airwaves to Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the wingers. As an aside, it also appears that the Democrats are going to try as hard as possible to lose the presidential election by nominating a shrill, unlikeable woman and an inexperienced black man, thereby handing the presidency to the Republicans as long as they nominate someone who is slightly less insane and divisive than the decider in chief.

Nowinger-------That's why so many people left the party.

Nowinger, that's sorta good as far as it goes. But what about the ambulance chaser who shaves the infirmed before retiring to his mansion far away from the squalid and teeming masses fenced out? And what about the green tickets salesman, is he really out of contention? (Green tickets here, get your green tickets. Ten cents per hour, one thin dime, the tenth part of a dollar.) Seriously though, who's your fav for the Republican least insane and divisive? I need a recommendation on whom to vote for.

Sorry, nowinger (a correction along the lines of full disclosure). Or a recommendation on whom to vote against.

Obama - 27.9 percent
Edwards 24.7 percent
Kucinich - 17.2 percent
Richardson - 12.3 percent
Clinton - 10.7 percent
Biden - 6.2 percent
Dodd - 1.1 percent

Here are the votes from move-on. This is the thinking of the left.

eliXelx: "John Lennon once wore a Kotex on his head into a bar in NYCity and nobody called him a "kotex-headed 'ho"!

Get your facts straight. John wore the Kotex on his head at the Troubadour, a Los Angeles nightclub.

It still gets me that you aren't hearing to much anymore from the Dems about rampent voter fraud and stolen elections. They were all upset when they were losing, but the second things go their way everything is ok. Kind of funny how that works isn't it.
Did you also see how when they did get worked up over voter fraud it wasn't because it was not being investigated. No, it was because some political appointies were fired for not doing enough to investigate it.
In order to be this hypocritical the Dems have to have a split personality. How else would they be able to function at all?

Vote for Guiliani, McCain lost all credibility with his Iraqi shopping trip. Rudy may lean toward fascism, but he gets results, unlike the current occupant of the white house, who despite his trampling of rights, freedoms and basic human decency, still has nothing positive to show for it.

PS, its the republicans who are all hopped up over voter fraud, not the democrats, par for the course in the winger bizarro world where lies are truth, up is down and white is black.

"Take away the right to say 'fuck' and you take away the right to say 'Fuck the Government.'"

"There is no one on radio that comes close to Don Imus in terms of the caliber of his guests or the issues he discusses"

The hairdos of some basketball team is certainly a high quality issue.

I can't stand Imus myself, but if I remember correctly, and I'm sure someone here will correct me if I am wrong, Imus was speaking about the ball game between Rutgers and Tennessee, and was talking about how rough the Rutgers girls were, what with their tattos and all. Then came the "nappy-headed hos" remark. It seems to me he was generally just making fun of the roughness, i.e. gangsta'ism, of the Rutgers team, as he said no such thing about the black girls on the Tennessee team.

If he was making a racist remark, why wouldn't he include the black girls on the Tennessee team? Just a thought, actually, as he should have known better.

TK,

He called the Tennessee girls 'cute'. That's kind of an insult, too. He said it in the same breath and spirit he spoke of the Rutgers team.

Imus is not the problem. The problem is the instantaneous willingness to become a victim. If the coach of the Rutgers' team had one ounce of class and one iota of exactly how to humiliate Imus, she would have told the girls to be ladies and to speak as proud women who bear no grudge. God. Can you even imagine it? "Understanding" ? Whew... what a concept. Sharpton and Jackson are pariah dogs feeding the flames of anything just to get 'whitey' to bow before them. Well, it worked. If I'd been that coach, I'd have had those girls so far above that comment and so far from victimhood that the news media would have to dig out dictionaries to find words to describe the show of grace and class. "Uplifting" comes to mind. That's a word the liberal press would have choked on. It's also a word the far right wing would have choked on as they like to claim it but just can't seem to incorporate it without a finger pointing in some direction to lay blame and thus abrogating their right to its power of enabling people to rise above the baser things in life. Everyone has just lost it.

The ACORN employees were registering fake names to pad their numbers, there is no evidence that multiple people were voting because of their efforts. But if you can find a link to support your argument, please provide it.

If anything, those ACORN employees were sabotaging liberal GOTV efforts, by being lazy.
