Every time I've been on Don Imus' show, he has reminded listeners that he "discovered" me. It's not exactly hyperbole. ... I found myself succumbing to the clubhouse mentality that Imus both inspires and cultivates. Sure, I cringed at his and his crew's race-baiting ... at the casual locker-room misogyny ... but I told myself that going on the show meant something beyond inflating my precious ego. I wasn't alone....
I'm embarrassed to admit that it took Imus' saying something so devastatingly crass to make me realize that there just was no reason beyond ego to play along.
Shorter Ana Marie Cox - If I didn't have this Time gig, I'd still be kissing his ass ... and loving it.
What a worthless, unprincipled bitch. I don't even like Imus, but Cox shows all the loyalty you'd expect from a liberal at a flag waving ceremony and I find that distasteful, regardless of the personalities involved.

It's just more piling on. How much you wanna bet she wouldn't have opened her mouth about this if Imus' "nappy-headed hos" remark hadn't been challenged. BTW, I love it that Imus' is criticizing "Call Me" Harold Ford as a coward for not backing him up after Imus supported his candidacy in Nov. (thank God he lost).

Hahaha....I can't imagine anything that would be crass enough to embarass this slut, considering some of the things she has said in the past. But she does have big tits.

Hey! Paul Wolfwitz! How do you feel about the corruption in the 5 million missing emails case?
"Corruption is often at the very root of why governments do not work," Wolfowitz argued in a speech in Indonesia in April 2006.
Oh? And how about that cute girl you were hooking up with at the World Bank?

Tom Maguire also had a good post up on this subject yesterday. He said, in part:
"Ana Marie Cox has an article about Imus in TIME where she explains she won't be going back on his show:
"[Quoting Cox]But do I really want to give my tacit approval to someone whose greatest gift to public discourse could be fairly described as allowing pundits to get potty-mouthed?
"Heaven forbid that the woman who rose to prominence on the strength of her anal intercourse jokes would do that."

I loved her coda about reminding the producer that her dad might have been listening. Guess her dad doesn't have a computer! Or maybe she never told him she was a blogger. Or maybe he just can't read.
It's really something to watch her clutch her pearls, considering where they must have been.

What a preening phony she is. Who is she to speak of harsh language? At least Imus was up front when being up-front and in-your-face wasn't de rigueur to get a job. She should thank him for her model of crass reportage. I never came so close to cancelling my subscription to TIME than when they hired her. I dumped Newsweek after fifteen years and couldn't bear to dump my other left-wing rag, so I just ignore her column because it pisses me off so.
And there's a difference in the two: Imus is plain-speaking and funny - IF you are of the mind that laughter can and does trump bigotry when you look at his larger picture, and he's equal-opportunity. Cox is mercurial and snide and 'thinks' she is clever, and she is fueled by Bush and republican hatred. No equal-opportunity hater, she. oh... throw up.

Phony is right. I just found this link now, but the more I read about Ana Marie Cox, the more I think she's the evil stepsister to Maureen Dowd, Marnie Vander Helsing and Arianna Huffington.
