Rusty calls our attention to a flier which appeared at the University of Maryland, also another flier that seems a bit threatening. Take a look. He also has more.
The concept of Liberating Jerusalem is not really new. You can thank the Palestinian Authority for that.
Treacherous MK calls for 'liberation' of Jerusalem
But Ibrahim Sarsour hates the homeland he voluntarily chooses to remain a citizen of, and uses the political privileges extended to him by this very nation to call for its destruction.
Speaking in Ramallah, headquarters of the Palestinian Authority, Sarsur said that "just as the Muslims once liberated Jerusalem from the Crusaders, so must we today believe that we can liberate Jerusalem [from the Jews]."
The concept dates back to this. Jews and Christians shouldn't worry too much, some (dhimmicrats) might say it didn't work out that bad. Especially read the last graph in bold, are you sensing a trend here? And don't forget Rusty for the actual docs.
Hadia Dajani-Shakeel. "Some Medieval Accounts of Salah al-Din's Recovery of Jerusalem (Al-Quds)" in Hisham Nashabe (ed) Studia Palaestina: Studies in honour of Constantine K. Zurayk, Institute for Palestine Studies, Beirut 1988....
After the exodus of all those Latins who could leave, 15,000 individuals remained in the city. According to Imad al-Din, 7,000 of them were men and 8,000 were women and children. All were enslaved.
'Imad al-Din indicates that, after paying their ransom, the native Christians requested Salah al-Din's permission to remain in their quarters in safety. Salah al-Din granted their request, provided that they paid the poll tax (jizya). Some members of the Armenian community also asked to stay in the city and were allowed to do so, provided that they also paid the tax.
Salah al-Din's recovery of Jerusalem concluded a lengthy campaign of military activity and ideological preparation, which had begun at a slow pace early in the twelfth century, and became a massive liberation movement focusing on Jerusalem as its rallying symbol during the regimes of Nur al-Din and Salah al-Din.

Someones been playing Age of Empires.
But, you know, they found a flier in Maryland so quick, attack Iran! Behold the power of the jacklope!

what's this? are you saying it turns out that islam has a long and cozy relationship with slavery? that slavery was - until *quite* recently - a key component of islamic economies? that since muslims tend towards incredible laziness - "it's god's will that the trash doesn't pick itself up!" - they needed slaves to do the actual *work* they themselves shrink from? that muslim pirates/slavers enslaved 1.5 **million** europeans from 1580-1800? that *all* the slaves taken to the new world from darkest africa were purchased onsite from ***muslim*** slave "wholesalers"? that the only place in the world where slavery exists today is the muslim/african nexus?
is THAT what you're saying???
golly! teacher didn't mention NONE of that stuff in "respect them religions of peace far superior to evil christianity" week back at school. wonder why not??

thankee, (st.) phoenix. (blush)
"scimitar". heh. while a pleasant thought, i find that in today's troubled times, long pieces of sharp metal are a pain: they tear up the leather when you get into the car; if you turn around suddenly, you whack the person next to you.....
no, i prefer my beloved ruger. and have you noticed none of the liberal trolls have run screeching into the discussion, crying that i've exaggerated islam's "accomplishments"? me neither.
