McCain: What Would Reagan Do?
Well, he would likely get caught saying it - off mic, anyway. h/t Drudge
Another man — wondering if an attack on Iran is in the works — wanted to know when America is going to “send an air mail message to Tehran.”
McCain began his answer by changing the words to a popular Beach Boys song.
“Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran,” he sang to the tune of Barbara Ann. “Iran is dedicated to the destruction of Israel. That alone should concern us but now they are trying for nuclear capabilities. I totally support the President when he says we will not allow Iran to destroy Israel.”
He stopped short of answering the actual question and did not say if he supports an invasion of Iran.

I think we need to make an object lesson of Syria first. Give them an ultimatum: Stop all the insurgents and supplies coming from your country into Iraq by next week or else. When that doesn't happen just start leveling the place one thing at a time. Make sure to announce it to tell the on AlJazerra or what ever. Then go and blow the place off the face of the earth. We have crap that will leave nothing but a burnt, smoking hole in the ground. Keep doing that for a week. No more millitary bases, no more airports, no more factories, no more bridges, no more dams etc... Then look over at Iran and tell the we are through playing nice, get with the program or else.
The week long image of us being able to totally destroy a country at will should be enough to motive the Iranian peoples survival insticts. I don't think the mad mulhhas would last long.

not gonna be good enough, SDboy. the arab world is already well aware we can "destroy a country at will". they've seen it up close twice now.
what they DON'T think we have the nerve to do is "kill a WHOLE BUNCH of that country's residents" while doing so. they don't care so much if we knock down their buildings: they're just unplumbed mud huts anyway; and now - since we leave them alive - now the bad guys can use that as a propaganda tool. the israelis made this mistake in their latest 'lebanon' adventure, also.
the left's all-time hero, stalin, put it this way: "no man - no problem".

What would Reagan do? Have his diaper changed and take a nap.
Posted by: Kelvin | Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 12:50 PM
Well BB we know that atleast the first few times huge crowds of them will show up as human shields right. Then when we go ahead and bomb the place anyway we can say " Hey we made plenty of warning announcements they came anyway." If we did that a few times I think the message would get through to these people.

Ah, these are my favorite winger posts. When you wax poetic about killing civilians. Do you really not know you are hypocrites? That its kind of odd to be horrified about terrorist acts against innocent civilians and at the same time call for the killing of tens of thousands of civilians.
Wait, I forgot. The arabs/muslim civilians aren't innocent, that's the ticket.
PS, you know that the Israeli army admitted to using Palestinian civilians as human shields, right? Children as young as 11, right? They admitted it, then banned the practice, but OOPS, they just recently got caught doing it again on videotape twice.
I know, there are no innocent Palestinians, even 11 year old girls deserve death because they don't like Americans or Jews. Got it.

NoBrain, spoken like the clueless Muslim idiot you are. I would embarrass you yet again, but you just did that yourself with your post. You know the jooooooooos brought down the WTC, don't you? (roll eyes)
Posted by: Hard Right | Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 01:50 PM
You are the ones calling for wholesale bombing of arab countries not me.
As far as the Israelis using Palestinians as human shields its all part or the public record.
Also, so typical of you HR, that you accuse me of being a muslim, wow, good one! Way to go. You must have been head of the debate squad in middle school! When in doubt just hurl some random slur at someone and hope it sticks.
Fucking Retard.

The fasination of Reagen with conservatives is creepy! I heard Drier say he wanted to put Reagen on a stamp so conservatives could lick his backside!!!!!!!!!!

and, noyyyinger, while we're on your incredibly-hot-hot-hot-button "muslim" topic, would ya care to comment on the 3 christians in turkey who had their throats cut by muslims "protecting islam"? or the 6 folks in the phillipines beheaded by muslims? or the scads of skinny, unarmed schoolgirls raped/beheaded/set on fire by the brave muslims in thailand? etc etc etc?
and why again do israeli teachers carry weapons? is it to protect themselves from their students? or from south korean whackos?
yeah, you're right: despite theo van gogh being unavailable for comment; and despite the 300 dead kids at beslan school; and the 3000 dead americans killed by The Religion Of Peace on 9-11 - although i realize it's uncool to mention that - ; and despite the whipped/beaten/hung muslim women and gays, about which you lefties have...nothing at all to comment on; and all the rest....we have no reason whatsoever to speak ill of muslims or islam. none at all. that about it?
can we mention the ongoing genocide in darfur being committed by muslims? is it ok to do that?
Posted by: bloodrage bob | Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 02:14 PM
You are changing the subject.
The subject is winger calls for the wholesale bombing of arab countries that would, by definition, kill innocent civilians.
Either you don't believe there are any innocent muslim civilians or you don't care, which is it?
Listing atrocities committed by muslim terrorists is a red herring unless your idea is that we kill ALL the muslims in order to kill the terorrists, which is I guess what you are actually advocating.

I hesitate to join yet again here because clearly some are more interested in insulting than engaging in polite if pointed debate.
In my opinion the important question to ask does not concern the 'innocence' or lack of same of any particular person or group of people. The question is what is the duty of the government of this nation in protecting its citizens from attack? If, in order to protect this nation, large-scale slaughter of civilian populations of the enemy is necessary, well we've done that before, haven't we? If one objects to doing such a thing as immoral, then I would ask, sez who? Based on what standard of morality, and where did you get it, and why should I adhere to it?
Consider this: what are we to do if Muslims manage to let off a nuke in this country? If every nation officially disclaims responsibility, one or another Muslim jihadist group claims responsibility, and Muslims are cheering from Algeria to Indonesia? Just going after the OBL of the moment wouldn't exactly cut it, then, would it? We would have to seriously consider doing for the Muslms of the world what we did to the Japanese: enforcing a change in their culture such that they are no longer allowed to teach their children that they are divinely appointed to rule the world and kill anyone who does not kowtow. In order to do that in Japan, it took the large-scale slaughter of civilians. I suspect it will take the same for the Muslims. Any 'moderate' Muslims would do well to be actively involved in preventing their jihadist co-religionists from succeeding in loosing the man in the tall hat on US soil...

"listing atrocities committed by muslim terrorists is a red herring", noyyy?
who died and made put you in charge? made *you* the one who defines reality? the fact you don't like hearing about them; and the fact they make your amazingly passionate kneejerk apologies & excuses for muslims intolerance look....well....pretty frickin' *bad*;.....
doesn't make them off-limits. bad break for you, i realize.

What a bunch of fucking cowards you are, and dumb. Calling people who have different opinions about the ME 'terrorists' or 'terrorist supporters' or 'muslims LOL' is no longer effective. It might make you feel really big, smart and cool, but it makes you a bad debater, a bully and a liar. No wonder you all love Bush so much, cause that's what he is.
Posted by: nowinger | Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 02:41 PM
naaah, noyyyinger, you're none of those things. you're just an absolutely typical liberal: obsessed with an agenda that you refuse to admit to; forever changing the subject when confronted with specifics; and foulmouthed and hateful to others when you're frustrated by their refusal to buy into your vague, unsourced, nonspecific bullshit.
or is "what a bunch of fucking cowards you are, and dumb!" your idea of ringing oratory? if so, that would make YOU...let's see now.....

Maybe we can just bomb Bosnia again, the left seemed to enjoy that a lot. They didn't say a word when Clinton started bombing Iraq in 1998 (Operation Desert Fox). Hmmmmm seems to be a trend there, if the Democrats bomb it's good, when the Republicans bomb it's bad and evil.
Yeah, and I did find this clip of McCain creepy, most conservatives would stay home in 2008 if he got the nomination.

Little devil on the shoulder now in complete control, over.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 02:59 PM
But McCain was misquoted. He didn't say "...bomb Iran." Listen to the video.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 03:01 PM
Correction. He didn't sing "...bomb Iran." When he said "BomB Iran, it was repeating in brief and clearer form a man in the audience.

What we need to do is ask some honest poll questions of the American people. Lets put all the options out there on the table and see what gets the best answers. Lets ask the questions like:
Do we want to leave Iraq Immediately or Stay to Win.
When the next muslim terrorist attack hits the USA do
A.Start to Negotiate with the terrorists B.Randomly begin to Carpet bomb lare muslim cities until the muslim world stops being such a pack of 6th century throwbacks.
Posted by: southdakotaboy | Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 03:46 PM
sdb, I wouldn't go with either of those two options.
Posted by: templar knight | Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 03:56 PM
Your right TK I was just being alittle sarcastic, but I think alot of the libs in this country and around the world would be very shocked if we started asking some rather pointed questions of the American people. I think many of the American people have written off the war not because we are "losing" the war. Rather the American people have come to the conclusion that the muslim world is just not worth the effort to try and help. There is a really big difference there and I don't think the libs or the muslim world understands that. It will mean very, very bad things for the muslim world the next time there is an attack. The Dems will also be held to account. They will try and blame it on the Republicans but it won't work just look at the low poll numbers for the Dem congress.

Is this the culture of life you were talking about Dan? The people who desperately seek the death of thousands if not millions of civilians
