Like it, or not - a health care debate is coming. My guess, this is one of those things that will happen without many people paying attention until the end of the debate. Ultimately, that usually means backlash for the Dems.

Economist (and PJM columnist) Max Sawicky looks at the two trillion dollar cost of US health care and wonders if we are getting sufficient bang for our serious bucks.


Yeah, the Republicans had that great medicare bill where they actually banned negotiating for lower drug prices. And you wonder why you're paying more for less health care than any other industrialized nation? But if the Dems try to address that, there's going to be a backlash against them. Huh?
Truth is, it's the big companies - like GM, Ford, etc. - that are going to get fed up with being at a competitive disadvantage to countries that provide universal health care and finally force the government to act.
