I don't get it. Some right side bloggers seem to have a problem with a Day By Day cartoon of Hillary in black face.
I love Chris Muir’s laconic take on the days events seen through the eyes of two young, hip couples in his Day by Day cartoons.
But today’s installment may have crossed a line of good taste. I know many of you will disagree with me
Captain's Quarters sides with Rick: Others blogging here.
I responded by agreeing with Rick, although I think the Hamsher example is less apropo than the Steven Gilliard incident. Gilliard photoshopped blackface onto Michael Steele to accuse him of pandering to whites -- in short, of being black only on the surface. He also called Steele "Simple Sambo", a rather unsubtle support for his argument.
I criticized Lefties for putting Lieberman in black face. It's a sensitive issue, more sensitive than it should be perhaps. They haven't yet banned old Al Jolson album covers so far as I know. But Hillary donned black face by altering her speech before a microphone and a black audience and the mainstream media didn't make a sound. I find it inappropriate to condemn a political cartoonist for using satire based upon a reality.
Perhaps objecting too much, not that those I linked really do, is a way for some on the right to put on a bit of black face as well. I refuse to sell out principles to look like one of the PC crowd. If Hillary wants to don black face before an audience, she has the right to be seen wearing it. Unfortunately, much of the media deprived America of that view.

i have a problem with that comic never being funny

i find no reason to attack 'day by day' for the hillary blackface gig. not one liberal ever complained about the lieberman blackface photoshoppage; or the clarence thomas lawn jockey cartoons; or the condi squawkin' parrot cartoon.
why complain and give the liberal halfwit moron hypocrites any ammunition? "even the repugs say that's wrong!"
piss on 'em. let 'em apologize for the above, and THEN maybe we'll think about criticizing day by day.
(well, we DO need more 'naked sam' cartoons. that's one *seriously* hot cartoon mama.)

Comedy has a well-known liberal bias.

Dan, you're right that only conservatives should be able to use blackface and that to criticize using blackface is actually the same as wearing blackface. In fact, I think criticizing you is the same as wearing blackface.
LOL, Chris Muir's comic is purposely not funny because jokes would distract from the Very Important Points he is making as I point out in my post on his cartoon:

"i have a problem with that comic never being funny"
I have a problem with comments to a thread ignoring the point.
"Comedy has a well-known liberal bias."
See?

Yeah, I see, TomB, liberals are pretty comical, and I laugh my ass off at their stupidity and ignorance right here on Dan's blog Day By Day.
