In a nutshell, the case exploded when an intelligence officer dropped a bombshell on prosecutors during a pre-hearing interview when he revealed the existence of exculpatory evidence that appears to have been obtained by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and withheld from the prosecutors.

It's important to note that this is the case Jack I'll shaft the troops Murtha pre-judged, calling the Marines murderers at the time.

(I edited my daughter's semester research paper the other night. I always always stick in a few really outrageously funny lines within the text. She learned early, long ago, to read *every* word after one of my edits. Her boyfriend asked if I would check out a short essay he had to write for an application to the university from his community college. In it he talked of his work in a biology lab taking care of tadpoles. I laughed out loud.... thinking.. 'tadpoles'?... but went on and fixed it up. I inserted after a couple of lines where he described exactly what he did for the tadpole research this: "I love to pull they tiny liddel tails." He's on the 'wait-list' for the university. He didn't know about my prediliction for humor amidst a boring research paper edit, much less one of those smarmy 'why-you-should-have-me-in-your-school' essays. He and my daughter and I scream laughing about it. :)

This is war, not a leftist "Kramer vs. Kramer" court room melodrama all to do with "convoluted laws," "Al Sharpton civil rights," and the leftist's beloved "due process" (I wonder what happened to the "due process" of the man recently beheaded by a 12 year-old SOB Jihadist in front of the cameras - with CNN and Anderson Cooper cheering in the background). At least similar captives on our side are taken to "Goldilock" air-conditioned facilities ("not too cold, not too hot) in Gitmo, and given three "Halal Gourmet" meals a day, and allowed to watch American Idol and play basketball (I think the 12-year old may have something there.
