If We Don't Stop This Nonsense Now

If we don't stop this nonsense now, we will be looking at a situation similar to the one that faces Britain today. America will have a large, non-assimilated Muslim population with a leadership whose ultimate goal will be the reversal of the very founding principles that make America great.

Last week, I wrote about Minneapolis Community and Technical College, which is planning to install facilities to help Muslim students perform ritual washing before daily prayers. It's a simple matter of extending "hospitality" to newcomers, says President Phil Davis -- no different than providing a fish option in the college cafeteria for Christian students during Lent.

Dianna Cusick, MCTC's director of legal affairs, is overseeing the project. She referred me to the Muslim Accommodations Task Force, whose website she is using as a primary resource. "They've done all the research," she said.

On MSA's website (www.msa-national.org), the sort of inclusive language used by the Muslim Accommodations Task Force gives way to hard-hitting advice for insiders. One downloadable publication --"Your Chapter's Guide to Campus Activism" -- describes how activists can advance political positions such as "restoring justice within the Palestinian territories," and opposition to the Patriot Act and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The cover features a student with a megaphone, and the slogan "Speak Out! Stand Up! Say It Loud!"

But I also discovered something more important for colleges seeking guidance on "accommodations": Projects like MCTC's are likely to be the first step in a long process.

The task force's eventual objectives on American campuses include the following, according to the website: permanent Muslim prayer spaces, ritual washing facilities, separate food and housing for Muslim students, separate hours at athletic facilities for Muslim women, paid imams or religious counselors, and campus observance of Muslim holidays. The task force is already hailing "pioneering" successes. At Syracuse University in New York, for example, "Eid al Fitr is now an official university holiday," says an article featured on the website. "The entire university campus shuts down to mark the end of Ramadan." At Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, Mich., "halal" food -- ritually slaughtered and permissible under Islamic law -- is marked by green stickers in the cafeteria and "staff are well-trained in handling practices."

There's more. And here's the MSA site. The Liberal ninnies, especially those who run our college campuses, won't get it. They will cave into this nonsense as their world view is shaped by such a misguided notion of tolerance, they'd tolerate an Adolph Hitler, even if they were a Jew. They are incapable of understanding that the forces behind efforts like this are devious and remote and are more dangerous to freedom in America than anything we have ever faced - including Germany in WWII.

They are more dangerous because they have become adept at turning the notions of tolerance and civil rights against the United States itself. Ultimately, the powers behind these movements do not support tolerance and do not want assimilation of Muslims into secular democracies. They seek to co-opt America for their own good. And no one, not even moderate Muslims would be free in the America they ultimately envision.

As a people, we must stop this nonsense now. And we must be prepared to do whatever it takes. If we fail to do that now, left unconfronted, in 100 or so years the mostly free America we know today will cease to exist for everyone, save a select few. More likely, our children and grandchildren will end up fighting a terribly bloody civil war within our own borders against a radicalized Muslim population grown too big to ignore.

I think that the muslims haven't really thought this one through to well. I mean look at it this way, they are taking themselves out of the general population, they are making themselves easily identifiable by dress and lastly they are creating their own ghettos (even a guilded cage is still a cage).
When the average American person reaches the point that he/she is completely fed up with muslims and islam all this could really come back to bite them. These people will be isolated, easily located little enclaves and will be easy to identify when the mobs start looking for blood. Dan you are correct. The left is intentionally blind. It's part of their mental illness. If the people in question are one of their "victim" groups than they will appease them to no end. This is less about the left than about education and universities.

Many people have the odd idea that universities and faculties are stalwarts defenders of tolerance, equality, etc. The historical record simply does not back that up. What it does show is that violent or aggressive protestors are almost always given what they want. The school will agreeably suppress non-violent protesters having opposite views.

Educators and faculty defend their freedoms, status, and funding. Otherwise their record isn't that good.
