Let's put it in even simpler terms: Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and a number of other powerful Democrats have bet the future of the Democratic party, and with it their own futures, on an American failure in Iraq. Having done so it's only natural and to be... [Read More]

Walling in the Sunnis turned out to be another in a long line of great and successful ideas. If this is what the 'new, new' team is doing in terms of the surge, WHY would anyone expect an outcome different from what we've seen in the last four years?
Same same. Some con somewhere said 'hey, that wall in Israel worked real good, let's do it here' and all the other cons and remaining dimwit military [Bush fired anyone who was competant] all said 'yeah, great idea'...Up goes the wall and, SURPRISE SURPRISE, the Iraqi people arent' happy. Even Sadr is using it to his advantage???!!!
Victory is around the corner, no doubt.

nowinger, the effectiveness of policy or tactic is immaterial. All that matters is that the wingers can make a crass partisan statement whenever they perceive a chance. This worked for them for a solid 3 years or so. What is bizarre is that they think it is STILL working. That's their business; all we can do is point and laugh at this point.

But here's the thing. If someone has been in charge of a project, and every decision they've made has been wrong and led to catastrophe and disaster, WHY would anyone believe that Brilliant Idea #53 was going to succeed where Brilliant Ideas 1#-52# were failures?

Again, you are making the assumption that competence figures in, at all, to the thinking of your rank-and-file loony. ALL that matters is the retention of power for its own sake; this can not be attained by responsive government - it may only be attained by crass and cynical partisan divisiveness and the lowest form of political expression, designed to pander to the lowest common denominators among the electorate: faux patriotism, fear, blind nationalism, xenophobia, and the general hatred of the "other." Actual governance is way down on the list of priorities.

Yeah, you know what they say, if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail:) Sad chapter in our history though, and it is far from over.

Wonder if those soldiers on Malkin's site, not to mention Petraeus, have started defining the domestic enemies of the Constitution their oath requires them to resist?

Is that the Murtha that stated Marines murdered in cold blood, but the facts show they did not murder?
What a great American.

Murtha,Reid,PinkoPelosi. They all need to be recalled. Murtha first.
Posted by: Cindi | Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 08:04 PM
SDN that is the $64 question right. What will the Dems do if the millitary starts to focus on the Domestic part of the oath. It will be very intersetsing.

Legalize,
Is this what you're saying here?
The Conservative Corner’s Fiction
By Justin Whittaker ‘06
I got a copy of volume 1, issue 1 of a new
student periodical in my mailbox a couple of
weeks ago. It is entitled Conservative Cor-
ner [hereinafter “CC”]. Evidently, the per-
vasively neo conservative thought and policy
throughout the country since House Republicans
promised to restore “integrity and decency” to
American politics in 1994, inspired UB Law Con-
servatives to speak out against the liberal bias that
keeps them down. My hopes for a well thought
out and serious presentation of an alternative view
point were quickly dashed upon the rocks of the
Sea of Inanity. What I got instead, right from the
giddy up was the same tired rhetoric espoused by
Fox News, and next to no authority to back up the
CC’s overly symbolic chest-beating and rampant
hyperbole. I wish to address my disappointment
in the following run down of the CC’s top
three most patently misleading, erroneous,
and uninformed talking points.
These assessments of the conserva-
tive mission statement would indicate that
the Republican Party is a party which recog-
From the Republican Party’s own
official statement of its political and social
positions it is quite evident that it does not,
in fact, support the liberties of all persons.
The Party in not especially concerned with
the invasion of the federal government into
the bed rooms and private relationships of
consenting same sex adults who may wish to
enjoy the same legal rights as a consenting
man and woman. Why? Because they don’t
like homosexuals. Furthermore, the Party
feels quite comfortable with bureaucratic and
constitutional regulation of the private medi-
cal decisions which logically should be be-
tween a woman and her doctor.
This is the real direction of the
Republican Party: bigotry, extremism,
fear, jingoism, subversion of human
rights, and a continued dismantling of
international law.

That Justin has been a hack all the way back to his college days, Phoenix. He is very worried about the invasion of the government into the bedrooms of "same sex adults". Methinks the little brat might be one of those "same sex adults", or in his case, same sex juvenile. Keep digging, Phoenix, that boy has a closet...uh, came out of a closet full of skeletons.

Our troops are fighting to defend a government whose ranks include Sadr's cronies and SCIRI, the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq.
Yes, that's right: We are fighting to defend those who want to bring about an Islamic Revolution in Iraq. Worse, SCIRI is a puppet of the Iranians.
Wingers love Iran. Wingers sold them arms in the 80's. Now, they want us to stay in Iraq to assist in the Iranian takeover.
I have asked the question before, and I will ask it again: Why do wingers love Iran?
Posted by: mkultra | Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 09:51 PM
Good question, Mkultra. Can you answer it?
TK,
My work is done. Others are watching the fine Justin now. I'm just having fun watching him try to change his vulgar speech into what he thinks is sophisticated lawyer talk. ohmygod....the stupidity would be funny if it weren't so scary. I'm sure UB just LOVES this fool representing them. Don't. you. know. :) I hope he doesn't purgure hissef.
Posted by: Phoenix | Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 10:20 PM
Or worse, Phoenix... he might "perger" himself...
Lord only knows what a halfwit lawyer might do, armed with the English language in one hand, a UB legal degree in the other, and a big fat doobie in his mouth.
Posted by: seekeronos | Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 10:41 PM
"...a big fat doobie..."
haha. All these 'urges' on dis blog. I sure wish Dan would do a nice PURGE.
But it is worth the laughs....and showing them for what they are....
Posted by: Phoenix | Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 11:01 PM
mkultra, you know you're a dirty Islamist, or one of their supporters. Now STFU, as the Islamists in Iran are doing the same thing you are, you just hate for them to get the credit. I can't stand either one of you, the Sunni terrorists, or the Iranian version. And quit saying "our troops". Hell, you're not one of us.

"Keep digging, Phoenix, that boy has a closet...uh, came out of a closet full of skeletons."
"Digging"? My god, you amateurs are clueless beyond belief when it comes to *actual* digging. Hint: "access." Guess how much I have. Want to know what I've dug up, fanboy?
Posted by: Legalize | Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 10:54 AM
The left accuses the right is using fear and hate to maintain power? That's called massive projection boys and girls. If you lefties ever understood how mentally ill you are you'd be as blown away by it as we are.
Posted by: Hard Right | Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 11:32 AM
And BTW, go ahead and tell us what you've dug up. Should be interesting.
Posted by: Hard Right | Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 11:33 AM
Was I addressing you, Limpy? Your masters don't require an errand boy to speak for them. Do they? Come to think of it, it HAS gotten quiet.
Posted by: Legalize | Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 11:56 AM
I picture you as some skinny little geek who got beat up a lot and became a lawyer because he thought it would allow him to bully people and get revenge.
Problem is, you're still that little loser. Smacking you around isn't even a challenge. But you know that.

"I picture you as some skinny little geek who got beat up a lot and became a lawyer because he thought it would allow him to bully people and get revenge."
That's funny. I picture you as a fat pimply kid who spent all of his time playing D & D in his parents' basement, fantasizing about how he might one day actually kiss a real live girl.
"Problem is, you're still that little loser. Smacking you around isn't even a challenge. But you know that."
Haha, so says the water boy for the junior high debate team. Oh no! Are you gonna tell me to "shut up" again, declare victory, and run away again? I apologize.

Oh, Justin (a.k.a. Legalize) was probably a skinny geek, alright.
But you be the judge:

Creepy internet stalking can either be flattering or simply pathetic. In many cases, when one discovers info about the stalker (FUPA anyone?) any remotely flattering aspect that could have been described QUICKLY evaporates into a mere assessment of "ew." I've learned the true meaning of the saying: "when you wrestle with swine, you're bound to get sloppy."
I wonder if a veternarian came up with that saying.
Posted by: Legalize | Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 12:56 PM
So that makes you the swine, or the swine wrestler..?
Either way, yer bound to get sloppy.
But not to worry, I for my part, have no interest in you (trust me, you're not my type) beyond poking fun at you, especially when you start foaming at the mouth as some of y'all libs are prone to do when challenged by fact and sound reason.

"So that makes you the swine, or the swine wrestler..?

Oh, there aren't many farm animals in my neck of the woods; as near as I can tell many of them live in the Blue Ridge Moutains of Virginia, where veternarians are plentiful - until they aren't of course.
"But not to worry, I for my part, have no interest in you (trust me, you're not my type)"
Haha, talk about protesting too much. I love how you asssume I was talking about you.

Leg, considering I never ran away but you did, it doesn't say much about you.
Phoenix, I saw that pic. If I looked like that I'd be angry too.
Seriously lefties, some Zyprexa would do you a world of good.

Justin Whittaker:
I waited a long time for this. You have now upped the ante into a zone you are clearly not ready to enter.
NOTE THIS: Nothing close to stalking has occurred on this blog. What you fail to realize in ALL posts is that YOUR words were used. Think very very carefully now.
You are playing with fire.

"Haha, talk about protesting too much. I love how you asssume I was talking about you."
Well, that's alright. I probably do have too high an opinion of myself, but thanks for caring, considering that there were at least two of us that poked around the interwebs briefly looking for this "Justin Whittaker" of UB fame. Needless to say, I can't say I was moved to awe by your visage. Hint: You probably won't be a Silky Pony, like one of your heroes running for President next year... unless you do something about that hair. :)
"'...beyond poking fun at you, especially when you start foaming at the mouth as some of y'all libs are prone to do when challenged by fact and sound reason.'

Heh. Go back and read some of your yelping you did in your discourses with Ms. Phoenix, she has a few pages of it here in recent posts which she has re-posted for our edification.
She called you on some things, and in true liber- no, scratch that, in true lefty-looney fashion, you got your feathers ruffled, and lo! Away into the foul-word vault did you dig for choice invectives to use against a lady.
There was a time when a gentleman's use of vulgarity to a woman was considered quite a reproach to that man: it showed that he was too weak-minded even to properly compose himself in the presence of the gentler sex.
Surely a man of letters as yourself can strive to do better than:
"Paul Kaffasus?! I used to eat chicken wings with that guy! Well, you know, in between being godless heathens, impregnating women only to force them to get abortions, performing gay marriages on unsuspecting Christian youth, being foul-mouthed (we said the words "FCUK," "FCUKITY," "FCUKER," and "FCUK-head" a lot!), actively practicing Sharia law, and hating the troops.

Here's what jihadis have to say about the Dims
It is apparent to every watchful eye that recent events over the past few days have exposed a huge crack in America’s administration. With weak declarations from their leaders about events on the ground in Iraq just two months after the so-called “Baghdad security plan” commenced and a growing dispute about funds spent on the Iraq and Afghan wars, the American command has now said “The current security plan is the last chance for the American army and the Maliki government”.
As usual, this was followed by a swift visit by the new (American) Defense Minister “Gates” who said, “The American support to the Maliki government is not unlimited”, insinuating that the American administration is impatient with the Maliki government that is incapable of handling the strikes of the Mujahideen. This comes on the heels of an important statement by House Majority Leader Harry Reid who previously said, “The Iraqi war is hopeless and the situation in Iraq is same as it was in Vietnam.”

nowinger,
I've got a fantastic NEW idea - a plan that's NEVER BEEN TRIED...
How about Liberals SUPPORT the war (for once)? How about you actually try doing what's in the Nation's BEST interest (rather than simply trying to defeat Bush)?
How about Liberals STOP giving aid and comfort to our enemies?
Now THAT would be something NEW to try, wouldn't it?
