Dems Strong On Defense: Just Not For Us

According to the Washington Post, while America is struggling with two difficult wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of the war on terror, the Democrats are planning to broaden the front by increasing their attacks  ... on Bush. And they intend to do it in ways that will weaken America's ability to fight terrorism anywhere it is found.

Despite the threats, Democratic lawmakers expect to open new fronts against the president when they return from their spring recess, including politically risky efforts to quickly close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; reinstate legal rights for terrorism suspects; and rein in what Democrats see as unwarranted encroachments on privacy and civil liberties allowed by the USA Patriot Act.

The Blame America First crowd apparently now sees it's mandate as undermining America's ability to fight terrorism. The liberals at the head of the party will fight to give rights they don't have or deserve to non-citizen terrorists at the very same time they connive to cut off funds for our own troops in the field.

"I suppose there's always a risk of going too far," said House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.), "but the risk of not going is far greater."

You think so, Hoyer? Just wait. Too liberal and inside the beltway Democrats have a rude awakening in their future. If they succeed in undermining this country the way they would like, after we get hit again, it is the Democrat Party that will have blood on its hands.

Today's Democrat Party is a complete disgrace. They are un-American, unpatriotic and pro-terrorist. Given this strategy they will freeze themselves out of the White House in 2008 and possibly the Congress, too.

Democratic leaders appear to believe there is hardly any territory they cannot stray onto, a development that has Republican political operatives gleeful and some Democrats worried. Rep. Tom Cole (Okla.), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, warned of a "political price" at the polls: "If they let their constituents and their ideology drive them past the point where the American people are comfortable, they will find how quickly the voters will react."

Let the most liberal of their party bring it on. They will end up being exposed for the traitors they are. No majority of Americans voted for these actions in the last election. Come 2008, America will turn out these feckless jerks. They are not prepared to govern America during a time of war.

"It's going to be like the government shutdowns" of 1995 and 1996, predicted Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.). "The Democrats' honeymoon is fixing to end. It's going to explode like an IED."

That would slow their momentum as they challenge Bush on the territory he has made his political fortune on: terrorism. But Democrats are undaunted in their demands to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay. They also want to reopen last year's law creating military commissions to restore the right of habeas corpus to terrorism suspects and to revise rules that allow convictions to be based in part on evidence yielded by interrogation methods that critics call torture.

Torture my ass. You want to see torture? Just watch these idiots squirm as the returns come in in November 08.

Solution: Every Congressional Republican should once again put on the ball gag and acquiesce to his catastrophic policies that the vast majority of Americans oppose. One last "surge" in support of the most loathed President in history, right up until Election day.

Darth, the troops are coming home no matter what we do. The election decided that. We have to accept it, and prepare for the fight that is coming here in the US with the Leftists. The good news is that the vast majority of Americans are not Leftists, and the vast majority are going to be pissed off at the Left when the obvious results of Leftist policy becomes apparent.

The first thing we do is blame the Leftists for the setback in Iraq(the Leftists will be gleefully celebrating what they call a major defeat), so this will be easy. We need to point out to the military and its personnel how the Left betrayed them again, just like in Vietnam. Again, easy, as the Left will be gloating, just as they do here all the time. Good. This will be very helpful, and what's even better is that we have the statements of the Leftists on blogs like Dans that will wholly support our positions, and the Left will have no deniability factor.

Politically, we shouldn't have a problem at all, as the Leftists in control of the Democratic Party have a long list of crazy legislation on their wish list, and will not be able to control the impulse to introduce it in the Congress. All kinds of domestic programs will be introduced, spending will leap, the military will be cut to the bones, just like under Clinton, and the situation in the World will continue to deteriorate. Europe will be in a mess, as the Muslim population increases rapidly, and becomes more radical. I noticed yesterday that British history teachers were now refusing to teach about the Holocaust and the Crusades out of fear of Muslim reaction. That should tell you something. How about that, libs, you like your Muslim allies forcing the Brits to quit teaching about the Holocaust? That is the result of taking people into your country who wish to destroy it. I doubt the majority of Americans want to see an American defeat. I do think the majority of Americans think that once a mistake is realized, the worst thing you can do is follow the same course, only try harder. Knowing you have made an error but not doing anything about it is just dumb.

Going into Iraq was wrong, it was done for the wrong reasons and done the wrong way. The intelligent option is to realize that mistake and try to minimize further damage. The dumb option is to yell "You will never defeat the US" and keep slugging on.

Darth, patience. And the majority of Americans do not wish our defeat, just the majority of liberals. HUGE difference. And I think the situation in the ME is going to deteriorate, but that was going to happen whether we won the war in Iraq, or not. The resurgence of the Iranians, and their desire to be the major power in the ME again, was bound to collide with the Sunni Muslims at some point in time. Regardless of what we say or do. I predict a major war between these two factions in the near future, much like what has happened in the past. Were it not for the oil, it would have little effect on us. We'll just have to see how this plays out. It may force Europe to rethink its priorities, and that would be a major victory for our side. We shall see.

But what we must realize, Darth, is that we are in a long term fight, whether we wish it or not, as we will be attacked again. Let's hope the next attack will be handled better than the previous one, but one thing we can count on, I believe, is that the memory of the liberals and their actions in the war in Iraq will be fresh in everyone's mind. And you, I and our allies will keep it that way. After all, the liberals have spoken freely on the internets, for everyone to see. Better than I could ever have hoped for.

Well when the troops come home there will be a settling of accounts with the libs. I don't think this generation of soldiers is going to sit back and take it from the lefties. They are going to be ticked off about being stabbed in the back for a second time by the libs. My guess is that the muslims will go after our support of Isreal next. They will launch a series of attacks here in the US in the expectation that they can bully the libs into abandoning Isreal. That is when its going to get nasty. People will pull their kids out of school and the economy will tank. Then people are going to have money problems and the libs will get the blame. Very soon after that the muslims will hit the malls or some other type of target. Thats when the riots will start and they will make the Rodney King riots look like a love in. The Dems will order in the Army to stop the riots and thats when the payback will happen. When the national guard gets called out and told to use deadly force against the people reacting against muslim terrorism, well interesting things are going to happen.

First the muslims attacking a school, they did it in Beslan Russia killed over 100 and injured over 300. Thats not counting the rapes they committed with young female students. Second if this country had multiple cities go up in massive riots over the outcome of a court case what on earth makes you think that after everything we have seen the American people would not go absolutly nuts after something like that.
