Clicking past Fox News Sunday, I just overheard Chris Wallace chide Mara Liasson for being sexist suggesting it was happening throughout the media, as well - and he was serious. Her mistake? Saying "Obama and Hillary" in speaking of the recent debate. Wallace made the assertion that the use of Hillary's first name and other candidates last names is an instance of sexism being propagated by the mainstream media. Are you kidding me? Hillary is a brand name.
It came to be because she first came up as the sidekick to her now sidekick former President Bill Clinton. She established that identity on her own. Does anyone think we'd be saying Elizabeth or Liddy were Elizabeth Dole running for national office, given that husband Bob Dole is so out of the news? I don't recall Ferraro having to endure being called Geraldine when running as a VP. Geesh!
Take a vacation, Chris. Your tenure in the mainstream media is starting to show, or was it that finger that Hillary's husband Bill wagged in your face?

Hillary is Hillary, Barak Hussein Obama is Obama, Fred Thompson is Fred, Rudy Giuliani is Rudy, Mitt Romney is Mitt and Brownback is who???. Guess we should just call Obama, Barak but wouldn't that just confuse people with that Borat character? We could call him Hussein but then he'd have trouble with people thinking he was Saddam. He's just gotten over people thinking he was Osama bin Laden so cut the guy some slack.

I don't recall the dhimms getting bent out of shape over calling Saddam by his first name to distinguish him from King Hussein of Jordan.

I think it's instinctive. Clinton wagged his finger in front of Chris' face and he instinctively wagged his tail to the master...probably got it from his father's side of the family.

Chris Wallace is pure democrat. What a stupid waste of TV air time. I missed it but would have liked to have heard Mara's comeback. Except I don't listen to her when she speaks anyway. I've never heard a regular pundit say so much nothing as she does. She is so out-paced by CHARLES and BILL and BRIT. :)
I bet Barack Obama's handlers chose 'Obama'. 'Barack' does not roll off the tongue in a pleasant manner. Besides, it rhymes with 'Oh, Mama" - perfect for a candidate for a nanny state.

Wallace ain't no dummy. He knows that "Clinton" plays a lot better with the electorate than "Hillary."

Phoenix, My Dad went to school with Chris Wallace according to him Wallace has always been a tool and is NOT a democrat.

That's interesting, Spart. I agree with the tool part - can you imagine having Mike Wallace as a father. ugh. I don't know where I heard he was a democrat, but I did and have to admit I was surprised that FOX would hire him into such a position. Oh well... Greta van Susteren is a democrat according to something I read. At any rate, dem or rep, Wallace manages to keep it straight for the most part so that it's hard to tell. Oh... I know where I heard it: "Outfoxed" - that film that came out against FOX.
