CBS Chairman Les Moonves met with Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson on Thursday. AP
Moonves released a statement saying he enjoyed putting out for two black men at once.
What losers. Their corporation won't stop pimping rap music though, will it?
(CBS) NEW YORK CBS 2 has learned that CBS-owned radio station WFAN has fired Don Imus. The news comes a day after MSNBC discontinued their relationship his radio show.
CBS Chairman and CEO Les Moonves met with Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson on Thursday morning to discuss Imus' future with the company. The shock jock has been in hot water since calling members of the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos."

Bring on Ann, she could become the standard bearer for the CBS network. Their ratings would go through the roof. They could put her and Michelle and Tammy and Mary Kathatrine on and call it the "Right Look". It would be great they could share it with MSNBC.

Ann would cut into Rush's audience. There is no one to replace Don Imus, so the left have cut off their nose to spite their face. They bowed to the PC police and now there is nowhere on radio for liberals to get airtime. Rush isn't going to be having John Kerry and Tim Russert as regular guests. Ridiculous. If I was Don Imus I would close my ranch for underprivileged sick children and never give another dime to any charity that didnt' have "White Power" in the name.

5 million emails magically disappear from RNC headquarters due to freak electrical storm / Senate inquire.
In other news, Dan is still talking about Imus.

nowinger, I didn't like Imus, but I just don't think what he said was racist per se, and I hate where we are heading as a nation if we allow Al (Tawana Brawley) Sharpton and Jesse (Himey) Jackson decide who should have the right to speak.

In other news, the Iraqi Parliament got blown up today. Looks like that little war is wrapping up.

You're crazy if you think liberals wanted him fired.
Real liberals believe in free speech.
....oh, why do I bother.
Never mind.
Posted by: Gilda | Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 05:25 PM
Obama called for his firing, what is he, a pretend liberal? Where were all his liberal friends who've been on his show selling their books and/or policies for the last 20 years? Where was John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Tim Russert, and every other liberal politician and pundit that has been on his show sticking up for him? ABSENT, THATS WHERE THEY WERE.
Fuck it the liberals arent' any better than the wingers.

Is the senate really all that interested in gray market Viagra and Xanax?

While I was not a huge fan of Don.I do not like this one bit.I hope he is picked up by someone. He was an equal opportunity offender. He stuck it to conservatives and liberals.Like he said..When is that fat piece of crap Al (media whore) Sharpton going to apologize to the Duke Lacrosse players he convicted?

Sharpton and Jackson meet with these two scumbags-a real class act.

Yeah, the joke in all this is that Imus is getting the axe but Beck/ Hannity/ Limbaugh/ Savage/ et al are still high and dry. I think you're right about one thing. If Imus had stayed lockstep with the Republicans, he could have turned this all into one big "I'm a victim of liberal persecution" whine. Now that he's a "liberal" too, he doesn't have that card to play. It's not like Rush has doesn't call black girls hoes on a regular basis. Or like Savage doesn't call for the carpet bombing of California because of all the Mexicans. Maybe the fact that Imus was the sanest of the crew was what lead to his downfall.
"Is the senate really all that interested in gray market Viagra and Xanax?"
That many old rich powerful men with K-Street connections and hot young interns? Hells yes.

Here's a take: Imus' comments were especially offensive because he personally insulted 15 specific women, insulting their race, their appearance and their morals. He has always been a creep and should fade off into oblivion...he's not worth all the attention.
Watching the hypocracy on both sides is entertaining. Sean Hannity and Bill Maher both defended Imus because they fear for their livelihoods...they both say stupid things for a living and if we started holding everyone accountable they would be screwed.
Did you hear that asshole Sharpton trying to draw a distinction between talk radio personalities and rappers? Hilarious! Black rappers are entitled to say nigga and ho and offend any and all because they are "artists". Talk radio hosts are to be vilified. This guy and his bunkmate jewbait jackson will say or do anything to get in front of the cameras and line their pockets by blackmailing morons like moonvees.
Al and Jes ought to turn their attention to the likes of snoop and his ilk who are really destroying their people. In the meantime, I am waiting for someone to say, "fuck you Jessie Sharpton. I'll call a spade a spade and you can kiss my white ass!"

You will never see black leaders really go after rap because the racist, woman hating crap they spew makes money for black people. The ghetto culture is everywhere, its celebrated in every high school and college across the country. I'm sorry to say, but Blacks just want a target of white racism, they don't particularly care if the target is really a racist, which Imus is not, all they need is the hint of racism and they're off and running. Same thing with the Duke case, you will never see the Revs apologizing to the three innocent Duke students due to the lies of a black stripper/escort.

Frankly, we are fast becoming the epitome of a Jerry Springer society. It seems to have become more important to have an audience and notoriety when confronting conflict than it is to attain resolve and mutual respect. That model seems to serve the needs of the exploited and those who seek to exploit; reinforcing all that relegates objectivity to the outhouse while making the frailty and imperfection of the human condition a spectacle that harkens back to the Coliseum.
Essentially, our culture has devolved into the serial practice of partisanship without regard for the individual or the pursuit of the truth. We're not looking to find the truth, we’re looking to create truth and that is a pivotal distinction. As such, each issue becomes the flagship for opposing interest groups and the epicenter for partisan politics. Those actually involved in this and other incidents (and they are often victims) become nothing more than pawns in an elaborate game of chess...and they are frequently further victimized.
These situations shouldn't be about whether liberals or conservatives, this race or that race, hip hop or honky-tonk, one group or another, are more offensive and therefore more responsible for all that is wrong with America. I am not capable of judging the whole of Don Imus nor am I capable of crafting a recipe to fix all of America...and neither are the countless pundits and partisans who have sought to frame it so.
I'm not a religious person...but I often find kinship with the imagery surrounding the portrayal of one called Jesus and his teachings of understanding and forgiveness. For all the banter I hear about the Bible and Christian values, it certainly seems to me that we are fast abandoning what many view as the sacred "tablets" in favor of the sacrosanct tabloids. If I'm right, all I can say is heaven help us.

My, my patriots, its been quite a news day! First, the brown evil-doers blow up democracy in Iraq, then we find out that Wolfie is doing a heckuva job and finally we find out that the AG's office is hiding a weeks worth of emails.
But look away, surge-supporters! DON IMUS WAS FIRED!!! I salute you flat-earth sheep. Remember, the SURGE is WORKING.

Peter Paul thinks Imus was fired for calling Hillary Clinton Satan incarnate on April 6.

Lala, that finally makes sense of this nonsense. I was trying to figure out what jessie and al were getting out of this fiasco, they don't work cheap. Promises of "future favors from Hillary" are certainly worth a couple of days of effort.Plus the added bonus of helping Hillary and hurting Obama.

Sorry, I can no longer watch Jesses, he called NYC Hymie Town, Can no longer watch Rev Al, he lied and perpetuated the Tawanda Brawley (fake rape story) incident
Can no longer watch/listen to Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy or Carlos Mencia (Who I think is brilliant) because they have made racist remarks.
While we are at it we should boycott ABC for that pantload Rosie, MSNBC for featuring some other bigots, CBS, NBC has to go as well. No more cable, no more comedy and no more sat radio.
Of course Imus was wrong, he should be punished, but NOT FIRED.
America is being used again for the left wing bully pulpit. So long Hillary, Howard Dean, Rev Al, Jesse and all the rest who figure they got their feelings hurt.
Seems Rev Al can't have radio bits be heard, as we might all be corrupted.
Go IMUS!

I'm confused - I thought Bush was supposed to be Satan incarnate, Hitler reborn, etc.
Hillary is certainly opportunistic, self-serving, packing a XL ego, and willing to metaphorically shoot people who cross her, but she'd need Imus when she takes the nomination, and if was a choice between Hillary or some republican, Imus would have fallen into line and started singing her praises.

Imus is so liberal he thought he could talk like a black person. He's learned that only blacks are allowed to use expressions like nappy headed hos. If he had been a conservative and hence a little more aware of liberal disingenuousness he would have avoided rap lingo.

Liberals eating their own like Imus.I love it!....Go on Imus kiss Al Sharpton right on the rump!
