Update: Webb Staff Member Arrested On Weapons Charge

Received a tip that a staff member for Virginia Senator Jim Webb was arrested for carrying a handgun today in or near the Russell Senate building. The tip claimed the gun was registered to Senator Webb. But carrying it would be a felony. I called the Capitol Police and they confirmed a Webb staffer has been arrested for a weapons charge. Paperwork is being processed now. Look for more later via the mainstream media.

SENATE STAFFER BUSTED FOR CARRYING WEBB'S LOADED GUN: Phillip Thompson, executive assistant to Senator James Webb (D-VA ), has been arrested by Capitol Hill Police on Monday for 'inadvertently' holding the senator's loaded gun, according to a person close to the investigation. A Senate staffer reports that Thompson was arrested for carrying the gun in a bag through security at the Russell Senate Office building while the Senator was parking his car. Thompson was booked for carrying a pistol without a license (CPWL) and for possessing unregistered ammunition. According to congressional rules, congressmen and senators, not staff, are allowed to have a gun on federal property. Developing...

That can't be. Lefties hate guns and think only the police and military should have them...unless they are special like congressmen. "They're the ones who really need them"-to quote a lefty congressman.

Well, the Webb staffer is a former Marine. I hope he wasn't going to shoot any gay congressman or senators, or anything.
