I guess that's the conclusion the Washington Post has drawn, given that they state CAIR speaks for most Muslims in the US and around the world.
The self-proclaimed secularists represent only a small minority of Muslims. The views among religious Muslims from CAIR more closely reflect the views of the majority, not only in the United States but worldwide. Yet Western media, governments and neoconservative pundits pay more attention to the secular minority.
The secular Muslim agenda is promoted because these ideas reflect a Western vision for the future of Islam. Since the Sept. 11 attacks, everyone from high-ranking officials in the Bush administration to the author Salman Rushdie has prescribed a preferred remedy for Islam: Reform the faith so it is imbued with Western values -- the privatization of religion, the flourishing of Western-style democracy -- and rulers who are secular, not religious, Muslims. The problem with this prescription is that it is divorced from reality. It is built upon the principle that if Muslims are fed a steady diet of Western influence, they, too, will embrace modernity, secularism and everything else the West has to offer.
Okay, then if Muslims in America and from around the world are incapable of embracing democracy as we know it in the US, then I guess it's time we start deporting them in mass and barring any new Muslim immigrants from entering America. It makes no sense to import a population incapable of living under our law. According the the Washington Post, anyway.
In Europe and the United States, where Muslims have maximum exposure to Western culture, they are increasingly embracing Islamic values. In Britain, a growing number of Muslims advocate creating a court system based upon Islamic principles.
What all this means is that Western hopes for full integration by Muslims in the West are unlikely to be realized and that the future of the Islamic world will be much more Islamic than Western.
Instead of championing the loud voices of the secular minority who are capturing media attention with their conferences, manifestos and memoirs, the United States would be wise instead to pay more attention to the far less loquacious majority.
If this is so, we should pay attention to it, alright - just long enough to send them back to the third world where they apparently belong, according to the Washington Post.

Intifadas in Mich,Ohio, and Virginia are right around the bend. The Caliphate is coming and you Libs are assisting in you own doom if you think trying to sabotage the wars will spare you.It won't,the muzzies will kill you as they would us right-wingers.

I would have bolded this
"Salman Rushdie has prescribed a preferred remedy for Islam...the flourishing of Western-style democracy -- and rulers who are secular, not religious, Muslims."
Let's not be coy they don't like Rushdie, so the Rushdie reference obviously is meant to be something Muslims need to disown.
Keep in mind this message comes from the Council for AMERICAN Isamlic Relations. That quote essentially means that Muslims should not accept non-Muslim leaders... essentially they want the smae as Malcolm X wanted, except a parallel government for Muslims, which is what Dan was making reference to, I believe.
I hate to say it, but a lot of people say: this is America, love it or leave it.
I am willing to allow any person of any religion to come to the best country on Earth where they can flourish, but if they hate my way of live, they can get sent back to the same mud hut that they came from on the same raft. That goes for anybody. My country is to great to get destroyed by a bunch of cultural and religious tropists who think that their values go over American values.
And why hasn't CAIR been bannd yet? They obvious have no desire to be American, and they have no desire to have a relationship with the American people (shown by them kicking Christians out of their press meetings)... So no American, no relationship... Council of Islam?
And don't get me started on the fact that they support Hamas and Hizbollah, and over 20 high ranking officials in their group have been convicted of terror charges.
Time for Congress to act against CAIR before its too late.
Shalom, Religious Zealots and Muslim apologists, and a mazoltof to Dan! (I'm sure that feels like garlic to Vampire for CAIR)

Jeff,I almost wish we could send Anakin Skywalker and the Clone Army for a visit to the Temple(Mosque)......Seriously between the traitorous Dems, weenie Republicans, and a brutal worldwide Islamo-terror movement we are in trouble....Europe will be a memory in 2025,we won't be far behind.

Amen! Dan is spot on here.
We must close our doors to immigration -- especially from the Muslim world. And mass deportations should have been started on September 12th, 2001. We are already nearly six years behind, having let the Jihadists run wild to set up their intifadas and terror cells in our land.
It is time to root them out; they would rather take the melting pot and toss it on its side to replace it with a Caliphate; but let the melting pot rather reject them!
And let us not deceive ourselves any further by allowing that den of fifth-column vipers known as the CAIR to freely operate in this country: they are nothing short of apologists for Islamism, and at worst, a cover for the deep operatives of Al Qaeda.
They should be banned from practicing law in this nation, and ideally, deported and detained at Gitmo as traitors, spies, conspirators and enemy collaborators in the planned downfall of our nation.

Ibrahiem Hooper and the rest need to be deported quickly.Seek mass deportations should begin now and we need to build our military and prepare the population for hard ,bloody times ahead....We are missing a leader,I pray he comes.

"I hate to say it, but a lot of people say: this is America, love it or leave it."
Heh. I like saying that.
Often.
Because, it is true: if it pains you to stay in a nation you detest, I say do everyone a favour and leave.

And take Rosie off our hands....she would look great in a Burka.
Posted by: Darth Malice | Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 11:18 PM
Not sure if I agree with the mass deportation thing, but we need to weed the bad ones out. Is Noam Chomsky American? We could a least deport George Soros to Sri Lanka with hundred dollar bills taped all over his body...
Republicans hate being viewed as racists, Democrats are massaging everyone's balls (including CAIR's)...
No one will do anything, yet the American people who have been attacked vicsiously by Muslims several times are the aggressors and the Muslims are the victims? Are we in Seinfeld's bizarro world?
I hate to say this, but CAIR is winning, and no one wants to do a thing about it except the pundits... Democrats like Schumer and Boxer think that CAIR is at least very harsh... but why investigate that when you can investigate a former Sec Def?
I will vote for anyone who is willing to stop Islamic terrorism at all costs, I don't care which party. Stopping CAIR is the first step... why was propaganda so important in WWII? The same reason it is now... and CAIR knows that well...

"Because, it is true: if it pains you to stay in a nation you detest, I say do everyone a favour and leave."
That's why I left Canada... Well... that... and America kicks butt!
OK, I don't hate Canada, but I love America too much.

Jeff,I am active in the GOP and I got to tell you the grassroot Republican agrees with you.Our "leaders" however are terrified of even debating the Dems on this stuff. We cannot expect my Republican Party to do a darn thing except grab ankle.

So the world is their agar plate. It sounds to me as if the germ seeds on the agar medium are going to produce a war within a war. When that happens, those already here will need sanctuary. It may turn out that fouling their own nest would be the worst of ideas if they want to be happy. When that happens we can say our way is the only way. Love it or leave it.
How crazy is it to have so many warring factions in the second largest religion on the planet. Everyone is going to get dirty. We can talk 'should' forever, but if we don't start fighting back and demanding our leaders dump any political correctness involving Muslims who refuse to assimilate, we will end up like Britain and the EU.

The UK is banning the 3 Little pigs for fear of offending Muslims....The UK is a shadow of it's former glory....how sad.

Has their ever been a war where the combatents were everywherem and nearly everyone was a fighter? Because I can see an Islam/Russia/ME coalition forming against the world. As much as I hate to say it, and I'm sure that seek would agree, Israel is in for rough ride, but I find solace in that I believe the Bible is clear that once Israel is rebuilt, it won't be destroyed again.
For anyone who is Christian, and believes in the Bible, I think that we are in for a rough ride.

Don't confuse them with reality when they are getting whipped up into a paranoid frenzy. Oh, and be sure to keep your arms and legs away from their cages when they are in this state.

Radical Islam must be confronted on every issue they raise and we must refuse to retreat from the values our nation was founded on to meet the demands of people who came here just to change us.
I'm one of those old paleo conservatives who views globalization with much concern and thinks that the best defense is a moderate form of isolationism in times of conflict. It only takes one chant of "death to America" for me to see treason in a citizen or a good reason to deport someone who is here without the benefit of citizenship but I do not want mass deportations.
Posted by: Buzzy | Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 03:14 PM
I'm torn between my paleo-con urges to call for a "Fortress America", and the relaization that the past 40 years of globalization has so entangled us with foreign alliances that extricating ourselves from them would prove most devastating to our economy.

It kind of seems like a Triple Entente, Triple Allience right now doesn't it seek?
One ccountry declares war on the wrong country and it'll be rough.

Seek,we need fortress America AND go on offense.....This war has only started and we have to get war production going.

Our people in the government should read this - maybe they'd get the hint and join society for a change.
Subject: Fw: Australia today, America tomorrow
Excerpts from an on going debate in Australia.
This is true and can be checked at

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Shari law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Shari law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you", he said on N ational Television.
"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia: one the Australian law and another
Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Shari law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option", Costello said
Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off.
Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off", he said.
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.
Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians."
"However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia." "However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand." "This idea of Australia being a multi-cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. And as Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle."
"This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom"
"We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society .. Learn the language!"
"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture."
"We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us."
"If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others.
"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,
'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'."
"If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here So accept the country YOU accepted."
Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths !

Amen, Susan. God bless you and yours.
THis is exactly what we need to do here in the USA as well.... unfortunately, I am afraid that we cannot look to Mr. Bush or the current crowd running the GOP to abide such an affirmation of Western culture in light of the politically correct moonbats shilling for his removal.
