You have got to be kidding me? This shyster lawyer is modeling himself after Jesus, now?
Right, I can just hear the secular Left: What would JEdsus do?
And prayer in school from a Democrat? What a panderer. He knows as well as anyone that the Democrat establishment would never go for it, not even close. So he feels free to pander knowing if he makes it through the primaries, which he won't, the base will simply overlook it. They know he's full of crap and just telling people what they want to hear.
Thank you Jedsus, for taking political pandering to another new low. Now if he can collect enough Coulter called me a fag money, he can hang around awhile hoping for a break. And if he doesn't get the POTUS gig, he can always sell bibles door to door throughout the heartland.
Edward's real problem may be that he just isn't believeable.
"I think that Jesus would be disappointed in our ignoring the plight of those around us who are suffering and our focus on our own selfish short-term needs," Edwards told the site. "I think he would be appalled, actually."
Edwards also said he was against teacher-led prayers in public schools, but he added that "allowing time for children to pray for themselves, to themselves, I think is not only OK, I think it's a good thing."
In the interview, the former North Carolina senator discussed how he lost touch with his day-to-day faith during college, but that it "came roaring back" after the death of his 16-year-old son, Wade, in 1996.
Edwards has often cited religion as a part of his politics, frequently linking his efforts to fight poverty as a matter of morality.

Man. Good thing you don't have any religious wingnuts pandering to the opiate feed masses on your side of the aisle.
John Edwards: IN UR BASE, STEAL'N UR VOTES! Don't hate him because he's better at it than you are.

incredible. the halfwit hair-tossing ambulance-chaser, fresh off'n the controversy over his 85,000 square foot house, ("hey, it's not like i have actual *slaves* anymore!"), dares to call US "selfish".
it's not just a saying: these lowlife swine really DO have no shame.

John Cole has got your number, Danny boy.

There have been many articles written about the generosity of Americans. We have no equal when it comes to charity. Turns out the poorest among us give the most. This guy really has no shame.

Oregano,
How does John Cole have Dan's number? I read his article. Nothing wrong with it other than I found it odd he used "self-styled 'conservatives'" four times in one paragraph.
What in the hell is a self-styled conservative? Does he mean conservative types with no brains who style themselves after talking heads?

"...it "came roaring back" after the death of his 16-year-old son, Wade,..."
That is as phony as saying you don't find any atheists in foxholes. That's where believers become atheists.

"That is as phony as saying you don't find any atheists in foxholes. That's where believers become atheists."
Yeah, I'm tired of that saying. Ditto for the "As long as there are tests, there WILL be prayer in school!" I've never liked the "begging for mercy" model of religion, and yet that's what fundies love to emphasize. I believe they call that "submission" in Muslamistan, but I could be wrong.

It amazes me scar how readily liberals attack Christianity, but when it comes to Islam all of a sudden they get downright respectful.

You cons really need to pick winners. If you ask nice, maybe Harriet Myers will run.
Stay the course!!

The bile and hate among conservatives these days is ripe. It's as if CPAC gave them the green light to just be who they feel like they are - kinda like Ted Haggard can finally be who he is. It must be cathartic. It's funny that you morons are getting your panties in a bind about Edwards wrapping himself in the cross, when bona fide hypocrites and liars such as yourself do it constantly.
No wonder you feel sick; he's better at it than you.

Legal, everytime Jimmy claims to be a Christian I just hear the gates of Heaven groan.

"you morons"
Are you welcoming conservatives to the hate club or is that label placed out of love?

"Legal, everytime Jimmy claims to be a Christian I just hear the gates of Heaven groan."
I know. :)
"Are you welcoming conservatives to the hate club or is that label placed out of love?"
If you get the vapors over being called a "moron," I think I've pretty much hit the mark with an apt observation. I only hope you intend to whine this way all the way through Nov. '08.

Those two pictures above display men with magnificent hair. And the one to the right actually seems to have a semblance of moral character.
Looks like the troll buys into to the fraud Edwards and his flatulent piety. Edwards is a lawyer, which is cognate with liar, pure and simple.

"If you get the vapors"
I'm a woman so if I respond to your incoherent, yet hilarious, hypocrisy, I must be having vapors.
Keep delivering, Legalize. You're a brilliant example of everything you rail against.

Legal I agree there will be a massive Dem victory in 08 across the board. The conservatives I talk to are just fed up with our weak-willed party.

"Legal I agree there will be a massive Dem victory in 08 across the board. The conservatives I talk to are just fed up with our weak-willed party."
Well, I think conservatives have a number of gripes with the GOP / CPAC-types, and being "weak-willed" isn't really the most significant one. The most significant would be the detraction from everything "conservatism" stood for to most Americans in the '80s - a limited government that didn't seek to control every aspect of a person's life; avoiding foreign entanglements; actually projecting moral authority by example, instead of just talking the talk; diplomatic might; collective power over the enemy; etc. etc.
The fact that the likes of previous administrations could defeat an actual threat like the Soviets, without resorting to wholesale abrogation of our way of life, and while reatining our position in the world, is remarkable in light of this administration's total contempt for American values, complete incompetence and disinterest in maintianing the U.S.'s moral authority, and total interest in retaining unearned and absolute power for itself.
I'm pretty sure "conservatism" is deader than Elvis for the forseeable future. You can thank the likes of whores like Coultergeist, Hannity, Rush, Riehl, et al for what conservatism has become - the ideology of "me" and "books sales" - whatever the cost.
Posted by: Legalize | Tuesday, March 06, 2007 at 10:55 AM
Legal.....all the RNC needs to do is stiffen the spine, boot out RINOS,embrace conservative policies.....just hit the easy button. They are very weak-willed and we conservatives will punish them.

The fetus-whisperer is just trying to make up for hiring those 2 fugly, STD-ridden, anti-Christian chix, (i.e. typical liberal women) to be his bloggers. That's all it is. No real Christian will be fooled. And I love how you 'tards bring up Ted Haggard as an example of Christian hypocracy: A) I didn't even know who he was until the scandal and B)HE ISN'T RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT - and if he were I wouldn't vote for him. Do you get the difference or do I need to explain further?
Posted by: BCMG | Tuesday, March 06, 2007 at 11:17 AM
I'm pretty sure "conservatism" is deader than Elvis for the forseeable future.
Which is why you had to run all of your Dummocrat candidates as bluedogs to win.

While I am afraid that Darth Malice is more than correct (the GOP needs to have someting of a purge of its RINOs, and a clear "back to basics" approach) ... our failure to do so will result in a Dhimmicretin-ized government that will ultimately be the demise of this republic - "one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all".
Rather, it, or rather the fragmented and Balkanized remains of the US will become part of "one caliphate, under Allah, with dhimmitude or death for all who do not submit".

Edwards is simply casting a broader net since his "academic" appointment @ alma mater (his & mine) UNC Chapel Hill to teach about POVERTY (ROFLMAO!) did not instigate a HUGE public uproar in NC! It only stands to reason that the new Nouveau Riche of the the Souf (sic), having not been shunned for his self-aggrandizing Kennedy-esque "compound' (New Tara for the linthead's spawn anyone?), would now feel entitled to speak for Jesus! Jesus Christ! Who out there could simply 'not get' the plain fact the Breck-boy Edwards channels the thoughts of The Chosen One? Anyway he needs that inside track b/c word has it he simply won't be as proliferative as those randy fellers up in Kennebunkport...sigh, another star for Edwards' crown....what an insufferable scum & blight on the state of NC - Jesse Helms was really spot on with his assessment of Chapel Hill from back in the day. Ever since Bowles took the helm the place has become blatantly the barnyard setting for "Animal Farm".
