What pathetic trash this is. She must be coming unhinged to try and perpetrate this latest fraud on the American people. The woman has no ethics, no honesty and no class.
With his veto threat, the President offers only an open-ended commitment to a war without end that dangerously ignores the repeated warnings of military leaders, including the commander in Iraq, General Petraeus, who declared in Baghdad this week that the conflict cannot be resolved militarily.
She really is a disgusting excuse for a human being, let alone a Congressional leader. Oh, that's right, so far she hasn't really led anything. How's that 100 hours going, Nan?

Put a Burka on this San Francisco treat!

Wasn't the quote by Petraeus more like, it's going to take more than just military action to win Iraq?
Talk about taking a quote out of context.
And since when do commanding Generals tell their troops that what they are doing is useless?
She is like the The Nanny, except Fran Drescher's squealing wasn't leading to our nation disgrace... if this keeps up America won't the superpower.... but that's what the libs want, all countries equal... America doesn't deserve her global influence. Am I right libs?
Dan, look on the bright, with a few exceptions, Americans are smart, they see this, and it always reflects. The dems aren't delivering on the promises because they can't. They can't get the votes to pass the measure in the first place, and they definately can't overturn a veto. Come 2008, it will be a nice triple win for the Republicans. We learned our lesson for this year passed... the dems are making the mistakes they made 1994...
Thanks Nanny, your party is now called the Whigs... you have as little power as they did... WHEN you are IN power... weird huh?
I guess America won't become a communism like is the dems dream... big oil, big pharma, and big ketchup live on! WooHoo John Kerry!

"... an open-ended commitment to a war without end..."
Too stupid. Is she admitting this war has no end? She would be right if she got her way.
I wonder if any president stated a war would end on a certain day well in advance of particular planned outcomes?
I agree, Jeff. People can see through this.
Posted by: Phoenix | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:22 PM
Jeff even with the Dems acting like this the Republicans will their asses handed to them. Our local parties have begged the RNC and POTUS to return to conservatism and to fight back, but they refuse to listen. Most Republican officials I know dread 08 and Pelosi makes no difference.People ,particularly conservatives are furious at GW and the Republicans for handing the majority to Pelosi.Simply put the Dems have a licence to be as nasty and communist as they want to be,because we conservatives are going to stay home in 08.That is a hard truth.
Posted by: Darth Malice | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:22 PM
Who is staying home in 08. Not me, we are still infected with RINO's and they are going in 08. Let the dhimmi's destroy the country again, some republican will come along on 2012 and get it streight again. It happens on a regular basis and one more time should be the end of the democrat party.
Posted by: Scrapiron | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:36 PM
Same around here Darth, GOP meetings are mainly talk about how to rid outselves of the RINOs, CINOs, and DEMs in Elephant suits and taking the GOP back.
Actually neither party around here is talking much about Iraq these days. The war is on our home turf and its illegal aliens stealing jobs, Mexican gang wars turning our streets into a fair sembalance of Bagdhad, jobs going overseas and those that are here hiring illegals at low wages. With the Commerce Dept. North American Trading Union people threatening folks with seizure of their land for that damned NAFTA Superhighway along I-35 if they don't take their offers there isn't much love for the NeoCons around here. Of course in Oklahoma our Democrats are more conservative than most of the Republicans in Congress.
I'll vote Tancredo or Hunter in the primaries but if the GOP takes Rudy or McCain to the general election I'll stay home.

Her apparent discomfort with constitutional process is disturbing.
Posted by: Purple Avenger | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 08:55 AM
Oh my, the cons are offended at being reminded that their Iraq adventure is lost. Year 5 is going to be the winner, right??
Posted by: BobInStamford | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 09:34 AM
It must be very bad for someone way down in the deep recesses of their conscience when they feel compelled by their politics to hope for and cheer the defeat and disgrace of their own country. It must finally rot the soul. I feel bad for them now and for the day when they awaken to what they have done.

Update: 31 pilgrims were liberated today in Iraq. Their hearts and minds were scattered on the streets. You heros are definitely winning. No doubt about it. Surge on!!

"31 pilgrims were liberated today in Iraq. Their hearts and minds were scattered on the streets. You heros are definitely winning. No doubt about it. Surge on!!"
So Bob, since you are so concerned with the well being of Iraqis, what was your opinion of the "tens of thousands" of children that were perishing "because of sanctions"?
Did you want sanctions to be lifted? With the attending restarting of the WMD production.
Or were you one of the ones now saying "sanctions were working"?

"It must be very bad for someone way down in the deep recesses of their conscience when they feel compelled by their politics to hope for and cheer the defeat and disgrace of their own country."
I agree. Just one more year and we can leave Vietnam victoriously.
"She really is a disgusting excuse for a human being"
Especially the way she just sat on her fat ass all through 9/11 reading My Pet Goat, then ran to an undisclosed location like a coward.
Listen, if you don't like how your shitty wars go, perhaps you should try to invade the right country next time. Don't get all pissy because Democrats don't want to keep throwing soldiers into your personal money-for-blood meatgrinder. Take your warprofiteering and do it in someone else's country.
You guys really are a bunch of sick little bastards.
Posted by: Zifnab | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 10:44 AM
"and for the day when they awaken to what they have done."
That day never comes. Leftists never mourn the mega-body counts that follow in their wake.
As Bob says, 31 is a tragedy, 3 million is just a statistic.
Posted by: Purple Avenger | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 10:50 AM
I can understand that you cons are angry. Your idiot leader waved the flag of victory, put on his flightsuit costume and told you that the war was won. Then the smoke cleared and it was apparent that you had only 'won' a situation that would have to improve to be considered a civil war. 4 years and hundreds of billions of $ squandered and you guys are counting on 25K extra troops to 'win' the 'war'. You guys are sad.
Posted by: BobInStamford | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 10:54 AM
You know Bob it's only a short hop from Bridgeport, where you live, across the pond to the UK. I can imagine what they would say about you over there. I think they would say here comes that poor sod Bob. He is a churl, a cad, a bounder, a positive shocker and a shower. He is an absolute cad, a syphilitic sycophant of socialism, a morose mooncalf and a mordant mountebank. But they would soon tire of listing all of your good qualities and begin completely ignoring you, which, one must confess, is probably the best policy.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 10:58 AM
What's with the Bridgeport stuff?? Does it make an old geezer like you feel better to believe that I live in a ghetto? You're a sad old man living in Florida. Go change your diaper and think about how much your prostate has grown since last week. Mission accomplished!
Posted by: BobInStamford | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 11:03 AM
Zifnab, old sport, so you are reliving Viet Nam are you, with the slaughter caused by our Democrat/media instigated retreat bringing fond memories of the Left's finest hour. Something to be very proud of. And going by that old show business excuse for remakes: "They liked it once; they'll love it twice", you want to see the same thing happen again. But, Zif, I'm afraid I don't see it happening just yet. You simply don't have the votes.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 11:09 AM
Answer my question bob.
Sanctions or not?
Posted by: TomB | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 11:23 AM
Please don't put too much pressure on you-know-who, Tom. He is probably doing his homework for his Bridgeport High School Algebra class.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 11:27 AM
But that's the 800 pound gorilla in the room, isn't it Fred?
I mean, every time there is a death in Iraq now we are regaled with whoops of cheering/wailing from the left. But few remember how many people were being killed prior to the war not just by overt action by Hussein, but by the criminal misuse of OFF money. I distinctly recall a heavy push to END sanctions prior to 9-11, and NOBODY disagreed that Saddam was ready to restart his WMD program once sanctions were lifted. But after the war started, they were too happy to assert "sactions were working".
So if that is the case, what is the left's position now? Which is it?
Posted by: TomB | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 11:36 AM
fred,
that was practically poetic
i think if you would have worked in windowlicker as well the post would be approaching perfection
thanks for the chuckle
Posted by: charles | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 11:51 AM
Tom, the dems are such vicious racists that they actually want to see millions of those brown people slaughtered in Iraq just like they were gleeful when those 3 million slant eyed people were killed in Viet Nam and Cambodia.
Posted by: Capitalist Infidel | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 12:31 PM
You know, Tom, Charles, and Cap, it must be terrible to have to live in a country one intensely dislikes, inhabited by people one feels superior to, with one government branch headed by someone who graduated from two elite schools, but who has a country accent that is distinctly native to a certain area. It seems to lead one to lash out with mindless charges that have proven to be self-contradictory but nevertheless are used over and over again. Just to name two examples: He is a coward who hides from danger (because he was a fighter pilot, one of the most dangerous jobs in war or peace). He lied to us about Iraq WMD (Just about everyone nationally and internationally believed Iraq had WMD, even Joe "the Nepotist" Wilson came to the same conclusion. It is like saying Ptolemy, who thought the earth was the center of the universe, lied to everyone, when it was merely an honest mistake.)
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 01:02 PM
i once made the mistake of feeling pity for them
now i just feel annoyed
to live in a place of nearly unlimited opportunity and comfort while denigrating it on a daily basis shows a distinct lack of perspective
there are people who do know the difference literally putting their life on the line to get a piece of it while these other morons hate it
baffling
Posted by: charles | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 01:11 PM
"So if that is the case, what is the left's position now? Which is it?"
Both. That's the wonder of liberalism. Holding mutually exclusive positions and being able to do it without your head exploding.
Posted by: Purple Avenger | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 01:18 PM
I can almost see bob furiously googling lefty talking points to get himself out of this conundrum.
Posted by: TomB | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 02:57 PM
How pissed will Freddy-boy and Ziffy be when we turn the corner in Iraq? Their hatred for their country and their desire for a US defeat will be exposed when the news turns positive, as even the MSM is beginning to acknowledge. Start digging your rat holes, boys. There will be no escape for you!

Maybe bob fell in...

"it must be terrible to have to live in a country one intensely dislikes"
Where do you come up with this crap, old man? Still carrying that gun around to feel like a real man? Try Viagra instead. Haha.

"Where do you come up with this crap, old man?"
Your statements? Just a wild shot in the dark...
Posted by: Purple Avenger | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 06:01 PM
Well bob, you've shown you are still around.
Please answer the question. We've waited the entire day.
Posted by: TomB | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 07:24 PM
Come on bob, you vile coward. You're willing enough to dance on the graves of 31 innocent Iraqis when they support your ugly agenda, but you run away and hide when asked how you feel about the dead ones that don't further your political goals.
Posted by: TomB | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 07:49 PM
Guess bob ran away again.
Not suprising really, s/he has taken a position against the Iraqi people, and that is indefensible.
Posted by: TomB | Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 08:48 PM
My oh my TomB, do you always rant? Sorry to inform you but you are sadly mistaken in your understanding of left wing talking points, but maybe you can try again later.

"My oh my TomB, do you always rant? Sorry to inform you but you are sadly mistaken in your understanding of left wing talking points, but maybe you can try again later."
Rant, no. Just accurate observations.
I still await an answer to the question.
Posted by: TomB | Monday, March 12, 2007 at 05:25 PM
Your question is not worthy of answer. But I will answer your moronic question if you answer mine, "When did you stop beating your wife?"
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Monday, March 12, 2007 at 06:27 PM
"Your question is not worthy of answer."
Why? Because there's no answer?
Here is the question again. Please tell me what logical inconsistencies you have trouble with...
"So Bob, since you are so concerned with the well being of Iraqis, what was your opinion of the "tens of thousands" of children that were perishing "because of sanctions"?
Did you want sanctions to be lifted? With the attending restarting of the WMD production.
Or were you one of the ones now saying "sanctions were working"?"
It is a relatively simple question Rob, and one that is factually consistent.
Posted by: TomB | Monday, March 12, 2007 at 09:29 PM
Sorry TomB but I can not answer your moronic question since you did not answer mine.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 01:08 AM
"When did you stop beating your wife?"
OK, I'll play. I never beat my wife.
Now answer the damn question.
Posted by: TomB | Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 06:18 AM
how about that, bob and rob both run away.
