For the record, I'm not for or against Romney or Giuliani at this point. It's so early, who cares? But this from Rudy deserves a bit of a spanking.
GOP presidential hopefuls Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney clashed for the first time yesterday after Romney charged that the former New York mayor is "pro-gay marriage."
"He is pro-choice, he is pro-gay marriage and anti-gun," Romney said in an interview to air Tuesday on the Christian Broadcasting Network, home to televangelist Pat Robertson. "That's a tough combination in a Republican primary."
But Giuliani - while in favor of civil union laws granting gay couples legal protections - has always said that he thought marriage should be "between a man and a woman."
Aides to Giuliani were quick to make his position on the volatile issue clear. But they declined to hit back hard, saying Giuliani would abide by Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment and "not speak ill of a fellow Republican."
Romney didn't speak ill of Rudy. He went straight at controversial if previous positions Rudy has held.
If that's an over the top attack, Rudy would have to believe he isn't open to being challenged on anything at all.
Come on, Rudy. Be yourself, okay ... without the dress.
Surely your time spent with the Donald would have taught you something about fighting back.
You aren't Reagan, and that's fine. But don't try to hide behind him, or people might think you like that dress a little too much.

I reckon I will get a spanking meself for this:
Dan,
Mitt said 'pro-marriage', not 'civil-unions'. Mitt stretched the truth.
Shall I grab my ankles? :)

Awwwww, are the (liberal) Repug. candidates starting to in-fight over which one of them can really pander to the loony base the best? That's a shame.

So let's see. Romney lies about er distorts Rudy's position and in response Rudy takes the 11th. This is supposed to be hiding behind Reagan? Rudy likes the truth. He shows it everyday. Therefore to him lying about someone's record is "speaking ill of". I guess conservatives who like a man who is pro choice for a pro chioce constituentcy and pro life for a pro life constituentcy wouldn't be able to see that.

Wouldn't it be amazing if Rudy was able to go through the campaign without saying anything 'ill' of any candidate. Talk about a new strategy and rising above it all. I hope he does it.
