Some commenters of a particular political stripe have been making quite a mess of my comments area. I realize it isn't their fault. Political debates often grow heated and it's very easy to become overly excited and allow oneself to lose control.
Rather than resort to banning, I've decided to invest in a minor upgrade for the blog, one which should go a long way toward keeping the comments area a little more tidy. Frankly, sometimes when the stuff starts flying down there, it can really stink.
So, be my guest, my Liberal friends. Feel free to comment away. Just please first click below the fold and suit up. Just think of this as a good housekeeping post.

Dan,I swear I have never worked for NASA!......Come to think of it they me be handy for a trip I'm planning.

I think you are ready Dan, with that material you can easily get a job as a writer on the 1/2 Hour News Hour.

Rob you stole my line.

And thus the Riehl Wurld prepares to carry on the laudable wingnut trend of simply stiffling the free speech of posters with whom it disagrees. Of course there will be some half-baked justification tossed out for such a policy (other than the fact that Riehl's detractors consistently pwn him and his fellow incompetents on an hourly basis).

Exactly how long would I get to exercise my right of free speech at the Daily Kos or the DUmp?
Oooh, when are you all going to start pwning Dan, I've got to see that?

So... fired US Prosecutors? Anybody? Buellar?
Oh wait, Riehl World. But that begs the question of what any of this has to do about carbon credits or Al Gore? Where are my children's drawings of a tall man trapped in brambles? Where is my bright red text decrying Al Gore's sinister scheme to invest in Green technology and conquer the world? Or how the average AGI of polarbears has risen 26% in the last five years?
I'm lost and confused.

Legalize, you're wrong. Dan has a very liberal posting policy, and allows liberals to post here, and say just about anything they want. I have been banned or kicked off several liberal blogs for absolutely no reason whatsoever, except that I disagreed with what they said. Very few, and I mean very few, liberal blogs give conservative commenters the leeway Dan gives you liberals here. You're just flat wrong.
And no liberal blog I have ever been on allows the kind of personal attacks I see directed at Dan by the liberal commenters on this blog. If it were my blog, I would ban most of you for your personal attacks, but Dan doesn't. He allows it for whatever reason, and you should thank him for that.

We know, Ziffy. We know.

I have to agree that Dan has a pretty good posting policy. I've been kicked off several right wing sites for saying almost nothing...one site that shall remain nameless (Rightwing News and Views) kicked me off for profanity when all I did was post a direct quote from a right wing poster which happened to contain a profanity, the funny part is the original poster of the profanity was not banned.

I've been banned from three or four blogs - conservative blogs - just because I questioned the blog host. I never did it in a rude manner. Some blog hosts have ego problems. I've also commented on blogs where the commenters attacked me for expressing a different opinion. I don't go back to blogs where the commenters think they run the show and don't welcome a new person. I watched a take-down at a blog the other night and got so mad I emailed the host and told him that was why he didn't have any commenters - because he allowed his commenters to trash anyone who offered a debatable point of view.
From my experience, conservative commenters on the takedown are mercurial and self-righteous. Liberals are so crude and disgusting it's amazing. Oh well... I can do both, but it sure is fun to get a pile of funny people who don't take things too seriously.
As for Dan's trolls, you guys have some kind of weird need to beat someone up for things you have zero control over. How dumb is that? At least Dan lets you do it, so you should quit complaining.

It's nice to see Free Speech is alive and well in the Riehl World.

It's Dan's blog but I must say I love all reasoned views. As a conservative I want to read those that agree with me and enhance my argument, but the other Point of view is much welcome. Thanks Dan.

Thank you Limp Wrong, I always appreciate your moronic comments. They tend to make me chuckle.
