Oh my God! Matt Ortega is ringing the taco bell at HuffPo because he busted Duncan Hunter and Nathan Tabor ... not!
The campaign staffer for Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Alpine, Calif.), TheConservativeVoice.com founder Nathan Tabor, signed on as the Director of Internet Outreach in mid-February citing the congressman's "commitment to conservative principles." Apparently those principles do not include disclosing who signs your paychecks when you write columns slamming the boss' political opponents.
He's referring to this:
In fact, Tabor blasted former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani for lacking "authentic conservative credentials." Tabor slammed Giuliani on abortion:
Yeah, so? In the first place, Hunter didn't hire Tabor as a blogger, Tabor has a consulting business with multiple clients and is, obviously, also an on line columnist. And as the news is so public - just ask CBS:
For those helping the lesser-known Republican candidates, it's a matter of convincing primary voters of their conservative values, said Nathan Tabor, the 33-year-old Web master for the presidential campaign of Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif. After all, McCain, Romney and Giuliani are scrambling now to account for flip-flops in their records, he noted.
where exactly is the there, here? Tabor also hired John Hawkins of Right Wing News with regard to Hunter, which was also disclosed.
As for Ortega, when you have to look to Sadly, No! for back up, maybe you should stand down, or learn to read and comprehend the news. And while we're talking Ortega, I have another question, too. Were his parents illegal immigrants?
BLITZER: Give us your -- tell our viewers who aren't familiar your personal story, how you got to where you are, your grandparents, your parents. They struggled, they came here. I don't know if they came here legally or illegally. But give us the story.
I figure if it's good enough for CNN to ask the Attorney General, I may as well run the question by Ortega, too.
What a freaking weasel, this Ortega. And a water boy, too.

"when you have to look to Sadly, No! for back up, maybe you should stand down, or learn to read and comprehend the news."
In other news, Dan Riehl claims that Gonzogate has no legs.
Maybe that's true in the alternate universe where Macaca is Majority Leader...

Are we to take it from Dan's "taco bell"/"illegal immigrant" rant that he's not part of the vaunted Right Wing Hispanic Outreach system?

Surely you aren't suggesting Blitzer is a racist? Other than the bell joke, those references to Hispanics come from MSM liberal journalists.

"Surely you aren't suggesting Blitzer is a racist? Other than the bell joke, those references to Hispanics come from MSM liberal journalists."
other than the bell joke? there is only one other reference to "hispanics". And that is a question directed to Gonzalez that you - for some UNKNOWN REASON - think applies to Matt Ortega. WHY COULD THAT BE? I HAVE NO IDEA.
Posted by: Kathleen | Friday, March 16, 2007 at 04:24 AM
Wow, way to school Ortega. He is SO Hispanic and I'm sure he's a fan of racist jokes when the come from people like Wolf Blitzer (IOKIYAAD).
"In the first place, Hunter didn't hire Tabor as a blogger"
So, to be clear than, Tabor's problem was not one of blogger ethics, but ethics in general? Or journalistic in particular?

Shorter Dan: "Stoopid Mexicants! I hate when my Presidential Candidates get caught with their pants down!"
Oh, and speaking of random political cat-fights.

Tabor has never had to work an honest day in his life. Btw, Sadly No has better fact-checking than you Dan Riehl.

Let's not forget this embarassment Dan. Which by the way, you've never corrected as far as I've seen.

LOL, I'd watch that "never worked an honest day in his life" meme. That applies to a large number of Democrats as well. A large number.

So the moonbat lefties attack Dan, but not Wolf. Now why could that be? Maybe it's because in their demented views only Conservatives can be racists. That would explain why they give a pass to fellow lefties who utter racist slurs.

Geez Dan you really stepped in it this time. Next time just call the guy a wet back and get it over with.

BTW dan, if you're born in the US, even if your parents are illegals, you are a a US citizen, full rights and everything. I know this pisses cons off, but it's in the constitution (14th amendment). Then again alot of the constitution pisses off the authoritarians.

"BTW dan, if you're born in the US, even if your parents are illegals, you are a a US citizen, full rights and everything."
That would certainly explain all the illegal mexicans sneaking over the border to have twelve kids per family... it's all about La Reconquista pr La Raza "Puro", baby.
And then, the illegals gain residency rights thru the babies. Perhaps there is a way to close this loophole?
Here's a solution: Free pass for approved foreigners into the USA if they submit to sterilization.
Posted by: seekeronos | Friday, March 16, 2007 at 12:28 PM
Or an even better solution (since mine touches on the possibility of becoming a eugenics campaign)...:

Posted by: seekeronos | Friday, March 16, 2007 at 12:44 PM
Huh? I don't get what you find so offensive about having "La Reconquisa" or whatever. Latin Americans are no different than any other americans. Plus they're christians, have western traditions, etc. They seem culturally suited to becoming part of America and integrate pretty well.
They aren't trying to turn USA into Mexico. Why would you flee a poor corrupt country to a rich country?
Latin Americans have fought in every major war, even in the 1776 revolution! They serve in higher proportion than their population in Iraq right now. Why do you have a problem with these people?
In light of these comments and your ones on Islam, it's pretty safe to call you a bigot.

"If you break into my house, I am not going to allow you to squat and eat up my food and spend my money until someone else decides whether or not you should stay."
Such baloney. Mexican immigrants A. Work JOBS, that's why they are here and B. Use social services less than the average citizens (think about it, they can't file for unemployment, or AFDC)

and you want to kick these people out? When are you going to enlist? If you kick them out it requires 2 "Surges" of US citizens to fill that void.
So seeker when you enlisting?

For the record, I think Wolf Blitzer is an idiot and he is by no stretch of the imagination, a liberal. He's a war cheerleader. A knave. A fool.
But this: They struggled, they came here. I don't know if they came here legally or illegally. But give us the story., while insensitive and inelegant, is actually a softball question. It's like "You were born in a log cabin -- tell us how you pulled yourself up by your bootstraps".
This: "ringing the taco bell" is a racist slur, written in a fit because of a disagreement based around ethics and disclosure.
The right's eternal quest to feel victimized marches on, as is evidenced by the whiny support Dan gets by the other troglodytes who excuse this -- or Blitzer's -- stupidity.

If maintaining the borders and security of this nation makes me a bigot when some people are turned away or forcibly removed as invaders marks me as a bigot, then so be it.
But know also, LOL, there is quite a distinction between people who legally apply for, and obtain residency rights in the USA vs. people sneaking over the border in the back of vans owned by drug smugglers in the cover of night to deliver "anchor babies".
Yes, Latino Americans have made numerous contributions to the USA; I do not dispute that at all. Many are upstanding citizens who would lay down their lives for American as soon as the next man or woman.
Same religion/traditions/etc.etc. ? To a degree, but not entriely so. Meso-american culture is actually quite different from ours, although you rightly say that they have a common ancestor in our Western tradition. Yet, it would be incorrect to say that it is the same as ours, given a 400-year+ divergence in (particularly Mexican) cultures, which over time have combined Iberian and native (Mayan//Aztec/etc) influences. Additionally, the backbone of their spiritual tradition is derived from a pastiche of old pagan influences and Catholicism, whereas the majority of the American spiritual tradition is found in Protestantism. Minor differences, but as cultural forces, they tend to have a certain gravity in somewhat different directions for the Anglo- and Latino- cutural supergroups.
Not a bad thing mind you, but it is noteworthy to point out that (especially illegal) Latin-American immigrants retain a far greater affinity for their mother culture than they display an affinity toward assimilating to ours.
Hence we have an invasion underway, both a cultural invasion which is supplanting the common American culture in the Southwest, and a physical invasion of hostile Mexicans/OTMs who have no allegiance to the USA, if only to force benefits and deliver anchor babies.
Further, the point of my linking to that article was to show that the intent of the 14th ammendment is not automatically grant citizenship to anchor babies --- it was to settle a question concerning the citizenship of freed slaves.

Has any lib commentor here ever NOT utterly embarrassed themselves? None of the prattle here disproves Dan's point at all, yet they smug-ly pat themselves on the back until their arms ache. Hysterical! I swear to the Sweet Floating Baby Jesus the comments from libs here (and else where) give me such a sense of calm about the future of Conservatism in America...
Posted by: vetter | Friday, March 16, 2007 at 01:21 PM
Interesting article.
I'd have no problem granting citizenship outright to folks who complete a four-year tour of enlistment, or are wounded in combat while serving in US Armed Forces. In fact, that might be just the way to swell our ranks -- if it is handled in a way that does not diminish unit integrity (perhaps having a 5%--8% maximum population of "immigrant enlistees" in deployed units).
That said, I still have little patience for folks sneaking through the borders illegally.
There are proper channels for gaining residency and/or citizenship, and practicing deceit and taking advantage of supposed loopholes in our social programs do little to endear them as potential future citizens.
Posted by: seekeronos | Friday, March 16, 2007 at 01:28 PM
I wish they would come here legally too, but the US government is stingier on granting admittance than you'd think. And the average illegal does not have a high school education, so those people are going to the back of the line in terms of application processes. You can't really blame the individuals. In their shoes what avenue would you pursue?
They are getting employment here. That's why they keep coming. Want to stop immigration? Stop illegal employment. Force all employers to only empoly citizens (or legals), to have paperwork for all that stuff. Otherwise you will keep getting desperate people trying who are for the most part only trying to improve their lives.

"Hence we have an invasion underway, both a cultural invasion which is supplanting the common American culture in the Southwest"
You expose a pretty unflattering ignorance here. Yes God forbid places like San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Arizona, California, New Mexico, San Jose, San Antonio, El Paso should suddenly become latinized?
You realize ranching and that cowboy tradition started in Spain? And was imported here by Spaniards, not Americans. The whole southwest culture has ALWAYS been strongly hispanic. Well, at least since European have arrived.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not necessarily. I just want to see less folks getting free passes into America who then refuse to assimilate, much less actually pursue the legal routes of citizenship.
Contrary to poular belief, the USA is not the "halfway house" of Planet Earth: We've simply got no room to "spread the stalinist wealth" to everyone and his uncle that wants to move here.
LIke we saw in that video: we have enough of a time trying to accomodate our own disadvanteged without taking care of Mexico or Latin America or any other countries' surplus population.
Much less a hostile population with a displayed irredentist intentions of "reclaiming mythological lost lands" in central Nebraska (Aztlan), or setting up Islamist states (the Caliphate).
Posted by: seekeronos | Friday, March 16, 2007 at 02:17 PM
Seekeronos,
I think what you mean is "Much less a mythical hostile population..." I know it's popular conservative lore, but only about .001 percent of all Mexicans have even heard of this B.S.

"I wish they would come here legally too, but the US government is stingier on granting admittance than you'd think. "
So instead of saying "Ah well, let's not do anything about illegal immigration", why not work to fix the INS instead?

TheSpartan totally tempted Godwin's Law by asking seekeronos if that was his "FINAL solution", but seekeronos then responded by ref'ing the Protocols-esque Aztlan myth!? I hear that the first to make a Nazi allusion loses the argument, but what happens if the responder accepts the comparison and runs with it? Maybe that's when we all finish our glasses and toast Eris.
