Koppel Shocker
You can read a detailed analysis of this and an additional article at Newsbusters, but today on Meet The de-Press-ed, Ted Koppel pointed out the folly of the Democrat position on Iraq, while also acknowledging that Iraq is part of the war on terror, a war which will continue long after we leave Iraq, whether we like it, or not. NB also links the full video.
According to Koppel, the US can not leave Iraq prematurely. I've edited the pertinent bits of video, see below for YouTube clip.

Ted finally speaks the truth.

Nightline got it's start in the Iran Hostage crisis so Ted while being a liberal knows we have a deadly enemy in Islam.

I don't recall anyone on the left saying the war on terror ends with Iraq.

"I don't recall anyone on the left saying the war on terror ends with Iraq."
I don't recall anyone on the left providing any new targets either.

The left doesn't believe Iraq is part of the war on terror. Even as we round up and kill al Qaeda in Iraq liberals still stick to that line.

The neo socialist liberals don't have a clue what the war on terror is or what we have to do to fight it. To them bin Laden is a criminal who needs to be arrested by the FBI, put on trial with all the rights of a common pick pocket and all will be right with the world. This was the case when Jimmy Carter enabled Islamofascism to take root in Iran and was still the case when Clinton refused to allow the CIA to take out bin Laden after 9 attacks on America and American interests. The one liberal who understands exactly what is at stake was thrown out of the Democratic Party for speaking the truth.

Yeah, Riehl, you edited the "pertinent" parts of the clip - I guess it's not pertinent to leave in the bits where Koppel discusses the fact that Iraq can't be won militarily ....

"I don't recall anyone on the left providing any new targets either."
No? They did Purple, and it they can only achive it once every Republican is gone and silent, so they can't interupt the dems glorious destiny.

The left is trying to fuck over the Iraqi people just like they fucked over the people of Vietnam, the people of Cuba, the people of North Korea.
How can they ignore this? Belafonte was asked about the left's adolescent infatuation with Castro and he didn't answer the question.
They won't answer the question, to do so would to be admitting their insanity. Best to leave that submerged in their fevered little brains.

legalize,
You are right but he also said it needed to be a political solution between the Iraqis and our military needed to stay there until that happened and it will take many years. Tell the whole story.

"Tell the whole story."
Um, I told the REST of the story - the bit Riehl conveniently snipped.

Actually it could be won militarily. Thanks legalize. THAT'S the Ted I've come to know.

The GWOT - and its ultimate end - the Islamic World War - will end in one of two ways (assuming Christ hasn't returned to end the madness) :
A global Caliphate, with two billion (down from about seven billion) impoverished, war weary souls forced at sword point to bow to a false moon god by a very small clerical elite...
... or in the irradiated remains of Saudi Arabia and most of the middle east and Indonesia depopulated, along with the Islamist populations of the EU and the Americas deported and/or reduced.

Seek, option 2 is more to my liking. At least civilization will be given a reprieve.

What's funny is that the left says we shouldn't have gone after Iraq as they weren't a threat. But mention going after Iran who is far more dangerous than any other ME country and IS a threat, they scream that Bush is trying to lie and get us into another crusade. So, we shouldn't go after them if THEY say they are not a threat, and that we should "negotiate" with those that are. In other words, do nothing until it's too late.

Of course, the fact that Iran hasn't remotely been proved to be an actual "threat" has quite a bit to do with it.

Yeah, but you should still be able to get a cheeseburger and Coke at McD's.
