Is De Vellis Taking The Hit For Geffen?
The MSM and several blogs are looking at the Internet Obama ad allegedly produced by Phil De Vellis, with some speculating he couldn't have done the ad. Be sure to see here and here. I don't necessarily buy that, he is a video editor after all. But that doesn't mean it was his idea.
Yesterday I linked the news that the now infamous Obama ad was produced by Phillip De Vellis.
Some basic research seems to link Phillip to Phyllis and Jean De Vellis through a previously shared address. The three of them also donated to the Dean campaign, see here and here - but there's a connection to David Geffen, as well.
Perhaps you recall Phillip's rationale for making the ad when he wrote an email as ParkRidge47.
A friend suggested the idea after reading a New York Times article about the Clinton's campaign bullying of donors and political operatives after the Geffen dustup.
I don't want to say more than that. I'd prefer to let it speak for itself.
As fellow Dean supporter Jean De Vellis Ph.D. appears to be Phillip's Father, if nothing else, it is interesting to note that he also seems to hold a rather senior position as Director of the Mental Retardation Research Center ... at the David Geffen School of Medicine.
Coincidence, perhaps? But it does give rise to some questions, did Phillip do a paid favor for his Father's boss? Did Geffen's people simply order the work? Or did De Vellis strike a blow for the little guy, as he now claims?
Also, as noted at HuffPo - someone has kept Ridley Scott and Apple at bay throughout this incident. I'm not completely convinced a little guy can do that.
Has there been any word from either Apple or Ridley Scott? After all, there could be a copyright infringement issue here.
Would falling on your sword for David Geffen really be a bad career move if you wanted a career as a film editor in Hollywood? Perhaps not. As for Arianna, I originally posted why I thought she was involved. Is she helping to cover for Geffen? She didn't give any genuine indication as to how De Vellis was actually turned up. Net net - this still looks like a Hollywood hit on Hillary. Big surprise!
Philip de Vellis is the Deputy Director of Internet Communications for Wal-Mart Watch, nationwide public education campaign to challenge the world’s largest retailer to become a better employer, neighbor, and corporate citizen. Prior to working on the Kerry-Edwards campaign in Cleveland, OH, Philip was a commercial editor in Los Angeles for 5 years.

"I'm expecting that payback is going to be a lot of fun to watch."
You bet. I'm a Democrat who will vote for Rudy if Obama is the candidate.

Phoenix,
ROTFLMAO! OMG, this is just too funny. Off with his noggin, eh, Phoenix? And by his terrorist buddies who he has enabled. Oh, irony, thou are still the master! Hahaha.
One of the best ever, Phoenix.

Justin Whittaker, Attorney at Law from Buffalo, New York, reminds me of Bill Adkins, Attorney at Law, who kept a loaded handgun in his desk drawer because some of his clients, you know, get kinda mad.
Do these asses understand Google?????
My thanks to Shayk Yurbouti for the information. You can find it on the Baa Baa Baa post below. :)

Thanks, TK. I love that line. :)
Notice anyone missing today? LEGALIZE? Justin Whittaker, Attorney at Law, from Buffalo, New York.
Here's his picture: http://law.buffalo.edu/ublawlinks/07-2006/default.asp?l1=2&f=MBA
He's the pinhead in glasses behind the Chinese guy. I couldn't help getting an instant image of him with his ever loving terrorist friends in black hoods getting ready to behead him despite his rah-rah-rah efforts on their behalf. The hooded guy steps up, reads from a script and then takes out a Swiss Army Knife and in one little flick, off with Justin Legalize Whittaker's noggin. ha ha ha.....

Obama is going to have to get up very early in the morning to out smear Shrillery. She's a pro and ain't gonna take this lying down.
Actually it's way to early in the campaign to go so negative and this ad would have been so much more effective held back for a knockout punch on the eve of the election. Obama is new to this game and as such he has to be forgiven for using such a nuclear ad early in the game. Old hands would have kept it in the drawer for a while.
It's fun to watch the DEMs draw blood so early though. I'm expecting that payback is going to be a lot of fun to watch.

How did the race get so ugly? Anyone think that Republicans might be setting it up? I mean, people hate ugly campaigns, and we certainly have one. I remember hearing people that I then called idiots saying the best way to win '08 is to lose '06. It's coming true. The dems power has gone to their heads.
And Dan, you deserve the anti-idiotarian of day award! Great work! Never thought of it that way, and if we find out you are right, you'll be an overnight celebrity! ;)

Speaking of moonbat conventions, there is a full-fledged one going on at the US Attorney thread. It was so loud and noisy that I decided to come here.
Phoenix, sorry it took so long to answer, but you may use that line anytime you go trolling. It sure did fit that fool the nabster, that's for sure.

"Has there been any word from either Apple or Ridley Scott? After all, there could be a copyright infringement issue here."
No kidding. I tried getting the original ad, "1984", some time ago, and there is no getting it.
Dan, you've just probably opened a labyrinth of great new discoveries to come.
Great job! .(Or should that have been 'Jobs'? :)

good for ol' faggot edwards! nothing like standing by the ol' ball & chain while she's got cancer, huh?
of course, you have to understand the modern liberal definition of "standing by": "baby, i'm gonna be on the road for the next 16 months, but i'll call every weekend. if you get real sick, or the end is near, call one of my staffers and they'll send someone over. maybe that guy we use to stand in line for us at walmart, or something. kisses!"
just as newt did, edwards is demonstrating for us his priorities. make of them what you will.

I googled the name and it may be just a name match but I found a match as working for an anti WalMart site WalMartWatch and as an Ohio campaign coordinator for the Edwards campaign.

Mental Retardation Research Center? When did they release Al Gore?

David Geffen is one smart guy and it would be a real stitch to find out he was the brains behind this video.
If true, It shows you how turned off to the Clintons he must be. To know them, as he does, is certainly not to love them (see Dick Morris as well). What should that tell the dwindling number of Shrillary's would-be voters?

Hadn't looked at it that way Dan but you may actually be right. Whoever thought this one up, it was brilliant, and Hillary is reeling from the blow.

In other news, John "Faggot" Edwards stands by his cancer striken wife.
In other other news, you guys still stand by Newt Gingrich.
In other other other news, Gingrich defines hypocrasy.

everytime i think you can be ignored Dan, you come up with something like this which is sheer brilliance. i could not agree with you more about Geffen being involved, even though i seldom agree with you at all.
thanks, this one great insight by you makes my daily visit to RWV worth it.
