You can't make this stuff up, folks.
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Public health advocates are turning to a new medium to combat statutory rape among Hispanics in Virginia: A comic book warning that sex between teenage girls and older men risks pregnancy or arrest.
The effort grew out of a 2004 rape-prevention campaign that emblazoned the question "Isn't she a little young?" on everything from billboards to napkins.
To adapt that message for Hispanics, officials created a fotonovela, a type of Latino comic book featuring themes of love and betrayal.
"Getting males to challenge their peers about having sex with teens is hard in any culture," said Robert Franklin, an outreach coordinator with the state health department. He said a one-size-fits-all approach wouldn't work. "I can't just translate 'Isn't she a little young?' into Spanish."
Instead, the message is conveyed in "Gracias Papa," a fotonovela about a young woman, an older guy and a loving father. The 13-page story, written in English with Spanlish references, will be distributed across Virginia starting in April.
In the booklet, the teenage main character, Yaneth, is at a picnic when she spots a handsome, raven-haired young man named David. She gets his phone number and later playfully sends him a text message.
A few pages later, Yaneth is alone in a car with David, who is actually in his late 20s. He's demanding sex, and the 14-year-old girl is scared.

Um... ok. Fascinating, I guess.

Anyone want to guess how long it will take La Razza to cry racism over this?

"all part of the glorious hispanic culchur"
So pre-teen sex only happens among Hispanics? You don't watch alot of Dateline, I gather. They've been running the "internet predators" mini-series for what must have been months. Many of those guys totally aren't Mexican.
But whatever. Go nuts, be racist. It's a free country.

Back when I was younger, and dinosaurs ruled the earth, anyone dating younger girls found themselves as an object of ridicule. One frat brother who, as a sophomore, brought a 17 year old high school girl to a party, had to live with the sobriquet of "High School Harry" for the nect year or so. It was viewed as unsporting, like shooting over bait.
Too bad that they haven't figured out a way to make fun of these guys... ridicule works. We never had another high school girl (other than family at those type events) at a party the rest of the time I was there.

"what are you", zinfab? easy: you're a brain-dead brainwashed automaton, blurting out defenses to any perceived attack upon any "culchur" that's not white/western. like you reflexively - dare we say 'in the pavlovian manner' - did when you read my little joke upon los mojados.
can't help yourself, can ya. someones says "mexico bad", or "iran", or "islam", or "africa starves despite a multitude of natural resources"....and your vision blurs, your hands shake, and quick like a bunny you blurt out "pregnant dutch girls!"
or some such. what are you, zinny? you're a mind-numbed robot, dutifully mouthing the slogans they made you learn by heart back in school. unable; unwilling; too gutless to think for yourself. too much trouble. might be scary. teacher told you not to question the dogma. hey, look! a new video game!
what are you? you're a liberal.

I mean, what's true for Mexicans is true for the rest of us, but my guess is that if this large campaign is happening, its because there must be a cultural thing. I'm not an expert in Mexican culture, and I will never claim to be... unfortunately many are being forced to become a litte Mexican so we can help those poor illegals fit in a little easier.

Used to be that the Mexican's had a heritage of strong family, not so much anymore. Sad really what creeping socialism has done to them.
