Well, that's the headline anyway. Apparently it depends on what the definition of the word threatens is.
The EU threatened to act against Iran last night if it did not immediately and unconditionally release the 15 British sailors and marines it has been holding for more than a week.
EU foreign ministers meeting in Bremen, Germany, threatened "appropriate measures" if Tehran did not let the group go, supporting Britain's position that the crew had been in Iraqi waters when they were seized eight days ago.
Appropriate measures? What, are they going to make the mullahs go to bed without a snack? If you're going to threaten someone, medieval is a much better word than appropriate. Don't you think?

The Iranians are not so foolish as to cut thir own throats by (a) cutting off their oil and (b) attempting a massive strike against the Arab (particularly S.A.) oil supply. Or even cutting off the Straits of Hormuz.
You libs forget that there is a rift between Iran/Persia and the rest of Arabia nearly as old as Islam itself with Shi'a and Sunni sects.

If the Iranians were that foolish, the other Arabs would line up in support of the USA against Iran.
The gas prices would certainly go up, but it would not be the doomsday scenario some of you traitors wish for.

War with Iran will involve letting its government implode from within. We don't need soldiers for that. Just some intelligence, spies, and a lot of patience. Iran is already at war with itself. I'm sure if it needs a little push, we'll let Israel have that pleasure.
