How's that 100 days going, Nan? ha ha ha
WASHINGTON - Top House Democrats retreated Monday from an attempt to limit President Bush's authority for taking military action against Iran as the leadership concentrated on a looming confrontation with the White House over the Iraq war.
Officials said Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other members of the leadership had decided to strip from a major military spending bill a requirement for Bush to gain approval from Congress before moving against Iran.
The Democrats have been insisting all along that Iraq and military issues in general, like Iran, were why they were marginally swept into power in November. Unfortunately for them, they have spent the last few months backing off, running away from, or simply ducking every major effort they have first given great lip service.
Seems to me it's about time the nutroots started asking, what in the hell is it these people were elected to do? Because, whatever it is, it isn't getting done. lol

What is up with the "mandate"to get us out of the war???Come on Dems!

No, Darth. I think Mullah is a Mossad agent. :)

Well Mossad had better get on the stick and start wiping out enemies and stop supporting that fool Olmert.

"How's that 100 days going, Nan? ha ha ha"
Yeah, you sure showed us by not implimenting the recommendations of the 9/11 commission. Nothing says, "Suck it" like underfunded airport security, exposed ports and power plants, and an unready police/fire/medical system. It's almost like the Republicans want us to get hit again.
Don't worry, baby. Al Qaeda only hits you cause he loves you.

Ziffy, another conspiracy theory, huh?

"Ziffy, another conspiracy theory, huh?"
No. Republicans have actually been blocking 9/11 recommendation legislation.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/02/02/Security.costs/index.html
It passed in the House and has been bottled up in the Senate for weeks. Rep. Peter King thinks $21 billion for homeland security is too expensive and wants to do it on the cheap. Meanwhile, Bush presses for yet another $100 billion to pay for Iraq.
I'm just saying... One questions priorities.

The reason the Dems aren't really pushing to defund the war is that they see the intel and know exactly what will happen if they do. With what they are doing now they keep their base mollified and if things go well they can claim it was their "oversite" and "plan" that made Bush change direction with the war.
Pelosi and crew know how big a threat radical Islam is and they know the right place to fight it is in Iraq. However they are willing to use any setbacks to their political advantage, they are willing to do this because they know that once they get into power they can still count on support of the conservatives to face this threat. The conservatives of this country put national survival above political gain and the progressives use that fact to their advantage. The far left base is in for alot of bitter disappointments.

In other news, AG Gonzales abuses his authority.
"Gonzales approved the idea of firing a smaller group of U.S. attorneys shortly after taking office in February 2005. The aide in charge of the dismissals -- his chief of staff, D. Kyle Sampson -- resigned yesterday, officials said, after acknowledging that he did not tell key Justice officials about the extent of his communications with the White House, leading them to provide incomplete information to Congress.
...
Sampson also strongly urged bypassing Congress in naming replacements, using a little-known power slipped into the renewal of the USA Patriot Act in March 2006 that allows the attorney general to name interim replacements without Senate confirmation.
...
E-mails show that Justice officials discussed bypassing the two Democratic senators in Arkansas, who normally would have had input into the appointment, as early as last August. By mid-December, Sampson was suggesting that Gonzales exercise his newfound appointment authority to put Griffin in place until the end of Bush's term."
Horray for no accountability in the administration!
But yes, you were saying something about Democrats acting against the interests of the country for political gain.

And what do a bunch of lawyers in Alaska have to do with the war in Iraq?

"...they keep their base mollified and if things go well..."
Peace protestors are protesting outside Pelosi's house. sigh...

Could the world get so lucky as to have the left turn on itself. The left always devours its own. Just wait if we give them enough time they will start shooting each other.

That's it Zif, try to change the subject when you're losing. Too bad it's not closer to the elections. If this continues til then it's a slam dunk you leftists will be bounced from power.

I'm just drawing a comparison HR. Democrats have the balls to play within the bounds of constitutional authority. Republicans just make shit up, lie about it, and keep acting out till someone throws them in jail.
At least when Democrats try to destroy America, they do it within the bounds of the law. Republicans... don't.

Now you're projecting Zif. Like I said, you can't win the debate so you tried to cahnge the subject. Why don't you move to France? From your opinion of America you sound like you'd be happier there.
Posted by: Hard Right | Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 04:21 PM
Hehe. You've got absolutely nothing HR.
Posted by: Zifnab | Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 04:22 PM
Actually, you lefties have nothing and it's showing-much to my delight.
Posted by: Hard Right | Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 04:42 PM
Z,you admit the Dems want to destroy America...hmmm

Heck Limp Wrong, instead of us libeals moving to France why don't you 'patriots' move to Iraq since everything is going so well there, or so you wrong wingers keep trying to tell us.
