Hot air has all the links you'll want and more to explore this ridiculous story.
The Nevada State Democratic Party is pulling out of a controversial presidential debate scheduled for Aug. 14 in Reno and co-hosted by Fox News, according to Democratic insiders.
The debate was being hosted by Fox News Channel and Fox News Radio, the Nevada State Democratic Party and the Western Majority Project.
So the Dems toss the nutroots a purely symbolic bone to appease them, while, in essence, blowing them off on the real issue, the war. The Dems lose an opportunity to speak to some Fox viewers they might actually be able to attract as voters. Where is the upside for anything other than the ego of the nutroots?
It makes the party look small-minded, if anything, generates more buzz for Fox, perhaps even causing some previously non-viewers to tune in some night to see what the network is all about.
They can spin it all they want, the Democrat Party is in disarray and being driven to poor decisions as they try to tie up their all too loose nutroots. This is a joke, unworthy of a serious American political party. And the message it sends to the electorate as a whole is not a good one. The Dems look weak, as well as divisive, more than anything else.

Congrats Dan, that is one of your more moronic posts to date. For anyone to think that the debate would not have turned into a smear the Democrats session must be both a loyal Fox News viewer and an UnRiehlWorld reader. I would like to congratulate anyone involved in averting the train wreck that this event would have been.

Fox is not news. Its like meeting with Reverend Moon and the Washington Times. Oh well. Sorry sheep. Maybe Fox can replace it with a special on the hunt for the missing WMDs hosted by Rick Santorum. The sheep would like that.

Just another example of the Dems caving to the fringe left. Fox news is News. Bob in Stamford just doesn't like the News. He'd rather digest the pablum served up at CNN or the networks.
Tell me what I want to hear!

Jeez, did someone ring the Pavlovian BS right wing outrage bell again Dan? The Republican Party has made it a priority to bypass the media they don\'t like. That\'s why when Dick Cheney shoots and old man in the face...he runs to Fox News. Or when some wingnut does something incredibly egregious, they run to Rush Limbaugh\'s program. Or when their anti-judge message doesn\'t play with most of the country, they hold Just us Sundays and broadcast them at Churches and Christian radio. So why the fake outrage when Democrats don\'t want to play colmes to Fox\'s HANNITY?
Most \"liberal\" media outlets may be populated by what the paranoid righties consider leftists, but Fox News actually has some one writing their agenda for them. John Moody tells them exactly what to say...daily.
\"Let\'s spend a good deal of time on the battle over judicial nominations, which the President will address this morning. Nominees who both sides admit are qualified are being held up because of their POSSIBLE, not demonstrated, views on one issue -- abortion. This should be a trademark issue for FNC today and in the days to come.\"
-John Moody
I can see the question now: \"Mr. Hussein Osama...What will hurt you more with the American people, that you\'re a liberal, a halfrican, or a sleeper terrorist agent?\"
Honestly, if I were a Democratic Candidate, I wouldn\'t give 2 shits what the average moron Fox News follower has to say. They ain\'t voting for them anyway.

Would this make it a more noble withdrawal?
Posted by: Phoenix | Friday, March 09, 2007 at 08:37 PM
Say what you want about CNN, it\'s \"news\" to \"newsfotainment\" quotient is alot greater than Fox\'s.
Fox revels in being the Chandra Levy/Natalee Holloway/Duke Rape Case/Anna Nicole Smith channel. It does so purposefully, at the expense of actual news.
Posted by: mightyjoeyoung | Friday, March 09, 2007 at 08:52 PM
Joe,
I don't think Fox does so at the expense of actual news, but they sure do cover the stories people would rather watch than news. It's all about ratings. I like Brit and Shep and figure I've gotten what I need. The rest I get online.
By the way, a few months ago, I was reading an article in a magazine about the VA health care system. Not the problems at Walter Reed as you mentioned last week. Those were a shame. But the article delineated the extreme efforts made by the VA to bring their medical services into the tech age, and at the end, it stated that for the hospitals that were fully ready, they were a model for private hospitals. They readily admitted due to the sheer number of VA hospitals that it would be a long time before they were all on parity, but it was sure good to read that they are state-of-the-art in care and soon - management. Just thought I'd tell you. People really do care a lot about this for our soldiers.

Nah, that skanky fishwrapper called the NY Slimes is too far to the right for someone like IslamistBobInStamford.
Al-Bob Ibn Sockpuppet digs the Al-Jazeera for his Defeat-America vibes.

Hoooah! Thank you dhimmis. Fewer people will see your garbage. Thanks for handing us a victory without making us do a thing. :D
Part of the reason the hospitals aren't at parity is because the dhimmis refused to close down obsolete and run down hospitals. The money for those hospitals could have been better put to use elsewhere, but the Dems were too interested in their pork.

"IslamistBobInStamford"
Its bible-thumping idiots like you that make this site worthwhile. Better turn on Fox to get the latest Terror Alert Level. I hear that it's ELEVATED.
Cowardly sheep...

Seek, man. Wow! What\'s it like? To live with enemies in your soup? You must be so tired being so vigilant.
\"Part of the reason the hospitals aren\'t at parity is because the dhimmis refused to close down obsolete and run down hospitals.\"
Please elaborate. Because I thought for some reason the entire federal government was controlled by Republicans the last 6 years. Are you seriously attempting to blame the month old Democratically controlled congress for Walter Reed? Soldiers weren\'t sleeping in their own piss when Clinton was president.
Phoenix - I\'m glad we can agree on the need to treat our wounded soldiers better. It should not be a partisan issue but there was no outrage to be found on the right. Heck, Dan\'s two posts on the topic were about A) How there was nothing to see here, move along and B) inventing some screwed up motive as to why liberals covered the scandal (because they obviously hate the troops)

Remember, sentient beings, if the right wing loon-o-sphere decries that something is a bad idea, that idea, by definition, is brilliant.

Those who suffer from Fox News Derangement Syndrome sure do seem to know alot about it.
Very immature little psychos. They must hate real news and hot babes.
If they were adults, they would just avoid it, like the sane people do with CNN and PMSNBC.

Unlike your IQ.

Well it looks like Dean's fifty state plan took a hit. I have a great idea for FOX news all they need to do is give the alotted debate time to left leaning third party candidates. They need to totally stop covering the main Democratic candidates and focus on the third tier and third party guys. I wonder what that would do to the race. I mean look at Ralph Nader if he could get national exposer. The Green Party would also just love the free media.
Posted by: southdakotaboy | Friday, March 09, 2007 at 11:06 PM
Interesting-conservatives are forced to deal with the liberal leaning msm all the time but they can't deal with one conservative leaning media station. What are they afraid of.

"Cowardly sheep..."
Isn't that kind of an oxymoron? Because cowerdice would mean that we are not sheep blindly following the herd.
But take away the "oxy" and you have Bob!
Posted by: Jeff | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 12:08 AM
well, yeah, ok.....YES, the dems DID run away from the debate like crying little bitches; weeping that fox "wouldn't kiss their asses enough to suit them". and yes, the world IS pointing and laughing at the stunning, amazing gutlessness exhibited by people who claim to be proud of their message.
but never mind all them hurtful "laughingstock" remarks. what COUNTS here is that the dems BRAVELY ran away, in a bold and decisive manner. also, they hate bush. you'll see: it'll be a campaign slogan next year. "we ran away! we hate bush! so you have to vote for us!"
Posted by: bloodrage bob | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 01:57 AM
Don't the Dems need to get some of the conservative vote? The Blue Dogs will NOT be happy when they lose a few seats over this.

"fox news broadcasts the woman who called edwards a faggot."
Ummm, well she was a guest from time to time... And she never called Edwards a faggot on Fox news. Jack Cafferty called George Bush a criminal, and said he had mental problem, called him an alcohalic... Will the GOP not debate on CNN, or will the DNC not because they value fair news so much?
"Fox news broadcasted the "madrassah" smear of Obama."
So did the other major networks
"Fox news also stated that smear came from Hillary's campaign."
Is that not plausible? Mrs Bill Clinton and Barrack Hussein Obama hate each other, it may well have been true, we have seen in the past the political rivals leaked information anonymously. If it was CNN or MSDNC I would give them the benefit of the doubt.
I guess one important thing that the dems are forgetting is the Fox News has by far the largest viewership, in many time slots, almost as big as the other two networks combined.
Posted by: Jeff | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:13 AM
"CNN debunked the fox madrassah story actually."
I know... I never Fox did, and never said CNN didn't...
They sound like good friends...

"Again, a winger comes to a debate without the facts."
Actually, Jeff, what he meant to say was, " a winger came to the debate wanting to actually debate, rather than just spewing out liberal talking points. How dare he have the audacity to refute my version of the facts".

LOL @ the Mensa member of the site, hey Jeff not only do you not know how to spell hypocrisy but you also do not know how to spell alcoholic.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 01:06 PM
And you can't make a complete sentence, Miss Kaufman. That one is a run-on.
Posted by: Phoenix | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 01:12 PM
Phoenix, don't bother go down to his level. Yes, I make spelling mistakes - often. Keep callin me out on it... I spend maybe 30 minutes a day on this site, I don't have the benefit of being on welfare, with nothing bettr to do than spell check everyone's posts, like Rob. Hey Rob you could made something of yourself if only...
Posted by: Jeff | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 01:42 PM
Poor poor Jeff swinging and missing again. As for your claims that are dead wrong so far; you claim the liberals on here are the same person with no evidence to back it up; you claim any liberal who smacks you down on a regular basis must be on welfare with no evidence to back it up; seems to be a pattern. Nice excuse though explaining away the errors I call you on because they are not spelling errors. The your-you're error is not a spelling error now is it Jeff?
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 02:28 PM
Thank you Phoenix, I would respond to your stupidity but I must be seeing things thinking you posted because you claimed us evil liberals drove you away from sniffing at Dan's butt.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 02:30 PM
Why would I care if Fox News carries the debate... I don't even get Fox News... I have Dish Network and the basic package doesn't include it.
I just think that its stupid that the Nevada Democrat party is controlled by moveon.org more than by its members.
Posted by: Jeff | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 04:11 PM
Miss Kaufman,
Obviously you don't think you're seeing things unless you also think you didn't type a response to something you didn't see.
Let me fix your response for you:
You have a run-on, improper usage of a pronoun and a punctuation error. The response should be thus:
"Thank you, Phoenix. I would respond to your stupidity, but I must be seeing things thinking you posted because claimed 'we' evil liberals drove you away from sniffing at Dan's butt."
There ya go. (I didn't mention the idiot logic. It would be a waste of my time.)
Posted by: Phoenix | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:13 PM
Thank you Phoenix, it is a shame that you would use the name of such a fine city though and embarass it with every moronic post you make. But what would I expect from a butt sniffing Dan groupie? But please continue to amuse me with you award winning stupidity.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:38 PM
Miss Kaufman,
You're just jealous. I am not Dan's groupie. I'm his gropie. I am bent over in front of Dan right now typing this..........live-retort-blogging-with-a-stud-and-some-thrusting-wetness.
ooh.. I just lost a cerebral peripheral..... OHMYGOD!
