I came across this post via the College Web Editor:
Crisis Communication with the blogosphere: lessons learned at UMR after a bomb/anthrax scare
Andrew Careaga and its PR team at the University of Missouri Rolla went through a crisis a few days ago after a graduate student claiming to have a bomb and anthrax was subdued by campus police, then arrested and charged with six felonies.
I did comment on one blog to clarify why we did not release information about the student’s identity.
That comment came into my blog ten days ago - I saw it for the first time tonight. I did email and suggest they look for email addresses on the front of blogs to establish contact. But it is refreshing to see that media and public relations managers are beginning to address dealing with blogs, especially around breaking news.

Dan, that's a good idea, but I find MANY times on blogs you have to hunt your butt off, looking vainly in the "about" and profiles and all kinds of crap to find people's contact: everyone! put it at the top of the page, with all your main Nav links, something else a lot of people don't do: Archives, search tags, contact, about, all good starts.
