Limp SOB's.
Somehow I can picture Leahy and Schumer huddled in a corner of the Senate cloakroom flicking through pages of the Pentagon Papers and old yellow copies of the Washington Post circa the Watergate era, arguing over who has the bigger subpoenas, the Senate or the House.
"Show me yours, Chuckie"
"No, you first, Pat."
"I don't know, Chuckie, what's the point? Conyers is Black."
"Pat, that's a myth. It has nothing to do with the size of his subpoenas."
"But my wife said ...."
The Senate takes the subpoenas up the bum tomorrow.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- House Democrats voted Wednesday to give their leaders the authority to force White House officials to testify on the firings of U.S. attorneys.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is set to vote on the authorization of subpoenas Thursday.
"You sure you won't tell anyone if I take it out, Pat?"
"Chuckie, when have I ever leaked anything?"
"Huhuhuh... you said leaked.
We have a bunch of morons in Congress - too many on both sides of the aisle, frankly. The Dems can't get their minds off of Vietnam and Watergate. Neither of those events resulted in them gaining serious political power over an extended period of time. Actually, just the opposite is true.
You watch, within four years the golden boys, Emmanuel and Schumer will be revealed as short term schemers who ultimately proved themselves to be unhealthy for the future of the Democrat Party as a whole.

It seems that the practice of beating one's head against the wall is what Washington does best...

I've said for a long time that the GOP should have issued subpoenas and held Congressional hearings for every secret leaked, every possible wrong done and every lefty that looked cross eyed at the war, immigration enforcement, voter fraud etc.
I'm sure they'll remember next time.

Ok, that's funny Dan. The left won't like it, but they need to be medicated.

Karl Rove (que Vader music) has planned this all along. HE WILL CRUSH THE DEMS. They will rue the day that they thought this up. The surge is working, their base feels betrayed, the public are standing up to the anti war crowd (who are growing ever more violent and extreme in their frustration) and now the people will see how truely pathetic the Dems are when they go after Bush for stuff thats not even I crime.
Already the Dems approval numbers are tanking. Maybe son it will be time for us in the Red states to go after those Blue dog Dems and remove them from office and put them in jail (take a page from the Dems when in doubt make up crimes).

Schumer ran virtually unopposed in 2004. There's your answer. Now you can go back to wondering what happened to all the WMDs.

Yeah, with Chuck getting over 70% of the vote and being the architect of the Democrats retaking Congress, I'm sure the residents of New York City are ashamed they voted for him.
More lies, ho hum.

What's the matter, you don't like the faggot jokes when they are aimed at you? But they are wicked funny when Dan is calling someone a faggot or when Ann Coulter is calling someone a faggot, then it's fucking hy-sterical. Just like it was super funny, really, when Dan called Valerie Plame a whore and a prostitute, it was a fucking scream.
Lost your sense of humor babies?

"About a month ago, Mark Halperin came to me to say that he wanted more time to pursue writing – perhaps another book and possibly for a publication."
Oops. The ABC Wingnut has left the building.
"CNN's Ed Henry hit the nail on the head: if no conversations occurred with the President, and no advice was given, then how can the White House assert executive privilege, claiming the need to shield Presidential advice. Tony Snow's response: "That's an intriguing question."
Tony Snow plays the fool over the 18-day gap.
"White House hopeful Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) will not seek reelection next year as his 30-year-old son prepares to mount a race for his father’s seat."
The venerable Duncan Hunter exits Congress, stage left.
"Former Colorado Rep. Scott McInnis (R) is expected to end his Senate bid as soon as today, according to sources familiar with his thinking who asked not to be identified because they did not have permission to speak for the McInnis camp."
Republican up-and-comers topple down.

I tend to think if Republicans don't change their strategy they are going to have a tough time in 08. But, changing strategy isn't a big strong point of the current GOP.
If Tom 'gerrymandering and bribes' DeLay is still bitter about not getting the rule change he wanted to enable him to stay in his leadership position, showing no remorse whatsoever, it doesn't bode too well for the rest of the wingers.
He should be begging his party to forgive him for all the damage he did. Typical Republican cry baby, blames everyone else for his own bad acts.
Posted by: yyy | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 06:02 PM
Ziffy,
I always grab my rifle before my Bible. You know how it is out here on the Texas plains, it's just in our blood. You never know when you might get that once-in-a-lifetime shot at that old wily coyote, or perhaps a diamondback makes a surprise visit, or that jackrabbit that's been in your garden makes an unexpected appearance. And I'm not too worried about the likes of you or your opinions, as they are just that, so whatever you say, Ziffynabster.
Posted by: templar knight | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 06:07 PM
Let me try to translate what you said, yyy. If the R's don't change strategy, they are screwed, but since changing strategy is not an R strong point, they are screwed.
And Tom Delay...blah...blah....blah...and some more blah...had better get on his knees and beg for forgiveness, just like Bubba did. Or the R's are screwed.
And he is a cry baby, blaming everone for his own acts....crying...crying...crying, which is causing me(yyy) to whine, and moan and groan.
yyy, does broken record mean anything to you?
Posted by: templar knight | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 06:13 PM
It's my opinion that most Republicans, especially those closely allied with Dubya, have spent so long getting away with saying one thing and then doing another--claiming to be anti-big government while presiding over the biggest government expansion and pork production in a generation, being total hypocrites--uber religious on the outside, boozing woman or boy hounds on the inside, and using attack politics and lies to win as EPITOMIZED by Tom DeLay, that they seem unable to make the change back to reality based politics, like Tom DeLay.
DeLay doesn't have to apologize to me, I always thought he was a hypocritical POS, but the fact that he would write a book that fails to show any remorse, is indicative of the problematic mindset that I believe Republicans have.
They are still in thrall to the neocons, the Iraq war and the idea that if they paint the Democrats as treasonous they can get away with anything and continue to be re elected.
I don't believe this is true.

Ziffynabster, I might consider the diamondback a threat, but the jackrabbit and the coyote are mostly a nuisance, kinda like you.

You mean the ex-fighter pilot? The guy who's married with two kids? Nope. No gay there.

Well, um, I hate to bring up Ted Haggart, but, isn't he also married with children?
Oh wait, I forgot, his church has certified him as 'not gay'...he was just 'acting out'...he's true blue heterosexual, you know, except when he's smoking meth and having sex with boy prostitutes.
You never can tell...
Posted by: yyy | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 06:57 PM
So Bush is a meth smoking, prostitute buying, closeted homosexual? I'd say in Bush's case it's safe to say he's straight. If he wasn't we'd know by now.
Posted by: Hard Right | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 07:02 PM
You poopie head. Disn't want to disapoint you with the lack of name calling.
Posted by: Hard Right | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 07:03 PM
Oh I think he IS straight, no question. He's a drunk driving, coke snorting skirt chaser, now repented of his evil ways. I was making a point that being married, having children or being a fighter pilot didn't mean you were not a closeted homosexual.
Posted by: yyy | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 07:04 PM
The cocaine allegation is BS. While such things you stated are of course not absolute proof he's straight, I'd need proof that's he's gay or bi. As there is none, I'll say he's straight. Poopie head.

"Matthews grilled DeLay about passages in his book where he apparently ripped into fellow corrupt Texan Dick Armey, eventually asking the Hammer about describing Armey as "drunk with ambition." DeLay denied writing that. "I wrote that he was 'blinded by his ambition.'" Matthews starts flipping though the book and finds the "drunk with ambition" quote and reads it to Bug Man. And DeLay keeps denying it. Finally, Chris hands the book to Tom and tells him to read it himself. DeLay looks down, pauses, and says "I don't have my glasses.""
Strong. Smrt.

"I'd need proof that's he's gay or bi."
What happens if we started calling him Brek Boy, and got Ann Coulter to mention that he's a faggot? I'm just wondering what your definition of "proof" is. I mean, if Scooter Libby is still "innocent until proven guilty for realzies", I'm not sure Bush spread-eagle naked on the cover of a Village People album would convince you.
Posted by: Zifnab | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 09:27 PM
Zif, I'll say it again. I think Libby IS guilty. Clinton got in trouble for lying-like he deserved and so did Libby
Calling Bush those things would be the nicest things lefties had called him.
Rush isn't calling Edwards gay, FYI. As for Ann, I've made clear how I feel about her. If they want to call Bush a fag or whatever then it just shows the extent of their BDS.
Zif, you know I'm right about Schumer giving off a faggy vibe. He probably isn't gay, but I'll be damned if he doesn't remind me of several gay men I've worked with.

"Zif, you know I'm right about Schumer giving off a faggy vibe. He probably isn't gay, but I'll be damned if he doesn't remind me of several gay men I've worked with."
I'm sorry. My gaydar must not be working. I seem to have totally missed Schumer's "faggy vibe". But "evidence" in the right-wing typically consists of heresay and whisper-campaigns in favor of actual documentation or investigation. So "proof" never seems to mean the same thing twice. I'd say Tom DeLay, Newt Gingrich, Ruddy Guiliani, and Dick Armey were straight just because they proved it by cheating on their wives, but apparently Clinton is a closet faggot too. So I honestly have no idea what your criteria is other than a "faggy vibe".
Posted by: Zifnab | Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 09:58 AM
No, Clinton gives off a flaming a--hole vibe. As stated, Schumer is probably straight. Due to lack of proof I'll say both Clinton and Schumer are straight.
