Anti-War Movement Inspiring Terrorism?
h/t Reader Paul
That seems to be the case according to a terrorist currently on trial in London:
2005 Transit Scare Is Described as Antiwar Message
"Seeing non-Muslims speaking out and protesting against the war made me think I should do something stronger," he said.
He said he and Omar first discussed the idea of a bomb hoax around September 2004.
"He said, 'What if we do something that would stand out,' " Ibrahim said. "Something like fireworks or firecrackers, something that would make noise and cause panic."
So much for the debate around the damage caused by the radical Left. Their irresponsibility costs us all.
Here's a round up of reports from Iraq.

How's about you and Omar puting those firecrackers up your worthless a-holes and lighting them and we'll see who panics first . . .

Islam and the Left....A deadly combo for this country.GW needs to start jailing the Dems......Yes I know that won't happen, but it is a nice fantasy.

It's more like They want to jail Us, DM. See Libby and this new with hunt in the Senate

Sorry, "...witch hunt..."

How is searching for the truth a witch hunt? LOL.
If the White House has nothing to hide then why not let Rove testify AT LEAST in a situation where there will be transcripts? The only answer I can come up wtih is that without transcripts, just like in the Libby case, it becomes much easier to cast doubt on what was said and much, much easier to say 'that isn't what I said...' I don't have a problem with them not testifying under oath or even in public, but forbidding a transcript is over the top.
It appears that some of the firings were within reason, there is a lot of evidence that DOJ was dissastisfied with Lam for other reasons beyond Cunningham. I don't see the same for Igesias, I don't see any way around the fact that they fired him for not bringing charges against Democrats for voter fraud before the election in a case where he says the evidence did not substantiate it. It is certainly within the president's discretion to say, fire the Arkansas USA in order to appoint a crony of Karl Roves. However, lying about it, and making it appear he was fired for performance reasons is unconscionable.
The idea of a "loyal Bushie" test should really make anyone that cares about our justice system shudder.

I'm beginning to see the radical left as the biggest danger this nation has ever faced. After VietNam it was discovered that the anti war movement had been funded largely by the USSR. Wondering who's funding it right now.
Posted by: Buzzy | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 11:30 AM
yyy, please tell me is what truth they are searching for. The President or his delegate has the authority to fire any federal prosecutor he feels is not carrying out his/her duties properly for any reason. He doesn't need the permission of Congress to do it. This is well known. Why do we have to explain these things to you over and over again?
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 11:33 AM
I'm done trying to explain this to you.
If you want to defend firing USA for failing to bring frivolous and unsubstantiated indictments against Democrats in order to help the Republicans in the election, go ahead.
I find it disgusting. It is also, most probably illegal as it would be deemed interfering with an ongoing federal investigation.

Fred with the anti-war movement clearly in cahoots with our enemies if he started the arrest of these clowns his base would reward him.

Follow the money trail, and I'll bet you a shiny nickel that it goes to some Saudi royals soaked in oil and the blood of their countrymen, much more everyone else who is gunning for the downfall of America to be replaced by the Caliphate.
I just gotta wonder what all the hippies will do when they get "Kristalnachted" by the faithful Islamists when the gun gets turned on them to "convert or die".

With what? Nascar collectibles, generic cigarettes and cheez doodles? That's Bushie's base these days.

Get used to it, guys. The dems are criminalizing common political practices...tactics they have used and will use again when in the white house are being prosecuted now because the dems have the ability to launch investigations. That is how they will spend their time -- not on anything substantive, but on embarrassing and weakening a sitting administration.
My eyes well with pride at our democratic leaders and their selfless values.

It always makes me wonder where we would be right now if the left had started out by trying to help instead of hinder the war on terror. I mean here are all these protestors who seem to find the time to show up all the time, what would have happened if they would have gone to Iraq to help the Iraqi people in person? Or if not that protested the countries in the UN who refused to help. Or maybe if they would have just help go after all the corrupt officals at the UN who stole from the oil for food program, or let children be raped by peace keepers, or protested all the human rights abuses that are commited by countries other than the USA.

YYY, answer the topic of the thread. Stop trying to change the subject because you know you'll lose the debate.
It is a known fact that the protestors have initiated terrorism. The terrorists see such protests and comments from Dim congressmen and figure we are weakening, losing our resolve and if they apply more pressure (more terrorists, attacks, dead Americans), we will give up completely. The left has blood on their hands.

Telly, the base is much smaller now because GW tried to keep turning the other cheek..it does not work!
Posted by: Darth Malice | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 12:10 PM
I wonder the same thing, southdakota. What a waste of raw potential.
We are our own worst enemy now and there is no telling where we will end up.

Yeah, yeah, there's idiots on both sides of the argument. I've gone to anti-war marches and never seen anything like what's in the picture. Nor would I support it. But trying to paint everyone that's against the war as American-haters is stupid because the majority of Americans are now against the war.
Including this father of a recently killed army soldier:
Saturday, they went to nearby Bloomingdale to join in a peace rally, their first.
“This war is wrong,” says the last paragraph of Landeck’s letter to the president. “Because of your ineptness … I have lost my son, my pride and joy, my hero! (You) will never understand what the families of soldiers are going through and don’t try to tell me you do. My wife, my daughter and I cannot believe we have lost our only son and brother to a ridiculous political war.”

Can you imagine if all the parents wrote to the president during Vietnam? Something like 56,000 letters. Sad.
Posted by: Phoenix | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 01:01 PM
Jon G, I have not said being against the war means they are an America hater. I have never thought that. Look at the comments from the lefties here and you'll see how they feel about America. Look at the protesters and their signs. Pretty obvious who they hate.
Posted by: Hard Right | Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 01:13 PM
Jon G, I have nothing against you but want you to think about something. Landeck knew his son was a soldier, if he didn't his son must have lied to him about his whereabouts. The purpose of a soldier is to fight in wars. That is the essence of military service. People who go to war expose themselves to injury or death. We used to draft (force) people into being soldiers. We aren't doing that now. Landeck's son became a soldier by his own free will. Mr Landeck is very wrong to blame our Government for his son's death. I'm sorry he lost his son. Also, the number of casualties overall in this 4-year war is astonishingly small compared to past wars. Now, aren't you sorry you posted this knee jerk comment?

Libs always complain that Bush lied to get us into war or that he manipulated the evidence to go to war. They can never just except the possiblity that maybe Bush just got the wrong information from his advisors and made his decisions based on that. They could get farther with people on the right if they had some consructive ways to fix our intelligence agencies. Instead they focus on protests that give hope to our enemies.
If you want to hear something interesting listen to the interviews given by important North Vietnam officers and how they talk about their victory. They come right out and say that they knew they couldn't beat the US in a stand up fight but could wear us down and defeat us on the home front. Sadam planned for the same thing. Al Qada plans for the same thing. They give speaches to their supporters telling this is the way to victory. To prove their point they point to all the anti war protestors. I know the libs don't like it when this is pointed out to them and they scream bloody murder about it (don't question our patritism), but that doesn't make it any less true.

sdb - that's a nice sentiment and i understand the point that you are trying to make
but in realty all you have to do is go back to the armistice that hussien agreed to so we would leave iraq the first time
he understood if he backpedaled, ignored or didn't follow the treaty to the letter we would come back in and remove him from power, just like we did
further justification was unnecessary
everything else is just windowdressing

The left wants to say by killing the terrorists, we are creating more. Then they deliberately ignore how the comments of the left are used by the terrorists. Michael Moore's book distributed by Hamas. Murtha's and Durbin's remarks made the Al-Jazeera rounds. The protests, etc. etc.
