Allena Williams Ward Gets Bail

Well what do you know. Let's at least dispense with all the equality talk now. No way a guy gets bail in her situation. My initial post here.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — A 23-year-old former teacher accused of having sex with five teenage boys was released from jail today after her father posted her bail.

Allena Williams Ward will be confined to her home, able to leave only for church and lawyer visits, and must wear an electronic monitor. She also must have no contact with the boys with whom she is accused of having sex.

Apparently the teachers were upset all the priests were getting laid. They have clearly decided to take back the title of most prolific child molesters.

Note how the liberals are unable to find anything much wrong with a teacher molesting students but immediately turn to attacking religion. Of course the conservative view is that pedophiles should be locked up for the rest of their lives for the protection of children no matter who the pedophile is.

Oklahoma has a law that makes second offense child molestation a possible death penalty case. Even though it isn't expected that the death penalty would be reqested in most molestation cases it does provide for the jury to sentence a repeat molester to life without parole. I personally wish it would just cut to the chase and provide a life sentence for the first offense.

Child molestation isn't a joke. It's a crime, actually the crime of rape against a child. The average person convicted of child molestation has been determined to have committed from 50 to 80 other molestations that were never reported. That is a lot of victims, real victims and it makes absolutely no difference to me who the pedophile is, how rich or poor, good looking or ugly, man or woman, of what faith, nationality or political persuasion, he or she needs to be locked away in prison for the rest of their life if for no other reason than to protect children.

Uhhh, preemptive strike? I've been back and forth with a few folks (elsewhere) who seem to think that this isn't much of a crime because these were teen boys and guess I didn't have my rant vented sufficently. I do feel better now though.
