"Negroponte tried repeatedly to shut the Intelligence Summit down using inappropriate and even unethical tactics. He secretly smeared one of our leading donors, Mr. Michale Cherney of Israel, as a criminal, knowing full well that the charges were false and had been fully investigated. Apparently it did not matter to [Negroponte] that the Summit members are staunchly bipartisan, patriotic, and extremely professional.
No American charity has ever been a target of such a vicious, prolonged and laughably ineffective attacks from a political hack.(1)"
So you're saying that a chief White House aid was trying to cover up evidence concerning Iraq WMDs? By unethically smearing an Isreali deligate?
So... the Bush Administration is manned by crooked, cheating, sleazeballs?
Yeah, Dan. We know.

Speaking of truth: where are the WMDs?

Earlier today, I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces. Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors.
Their purpose is to protect the national interest of the United States, and indeed the interests of people throughout the Middle East and around the world.
Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons.
The hard fact is that so long as Saddam remains in power, he threatens the well-being of his people, the peace of his region, the security of the world. The best way to end that threat once and for all is with a new Iraqi government -- a government ready to live in peace with its neighbors, a government that respects the rights of its people. Bringing change in Baghdad will take time and effort. We will strengthen our engagement with the full range of Iraqi opposition forces and work with them effectively and prudently.
President Clinton Speech December 16th, 1998 http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/middle_east/july-dec98/clinton_12-16.html
Maybe Bill Clinton would like to know where those WMDs are too. The simple fact is that both parties believed that Saddam had WMDs. You do remember when Clinton made this speech about attacking Iraq don't you? Was Clinton a liar too? I don't think so, I do think that the UN dragging out their sanctions combined with Putin handing Saddam our invasion plans well ahead of time gave Saddam plenty of time to move, hide, destroy what he had or maybe Saddam was for some unknown reason generating thousands of documents about WMD programs in some bizarre play to act like he had them. The truth is bigger than partisan politics, never confuse politics with truth.
