I figured it was BS, that he meant negotiate when he said take action - but the context is pretty clear. Tell me this man isn't confused.
LEVIN: “It’s more than just -- we’re trying to close down the Iranian border area too. The problem is that these weapons are coming from a state which is -- doesn't recognize Israel either, just like Iran doesn't. We’ve got to try to stop weapons coming into Iraq from any source that are killing our troops. I agree with the comments about trying to stop them coming in from Iran, I think we have to try stop them that are going to the Sunni insurgents as well as to the Shia. I was just wondering, does the military have a plan to, if necessary, to go into Syria to go to the source of any weapons coming from Syria? That are going to Sunni insurgents? That are killing our troops? … I think we ought to take action on all fronts including Syria and any other source of weapons coming in, obviously Iran is the focus – but it shouldn’t be the sole focus.” (Armed Services Committee, U.S. Senate, Hearing, 02/27/07)

Take action against both purported suppliers - one who allegedly supplies the Shi'ia, and the other who allegedly supplies the Suni. What's to be confused about?

So basically, we are going to war with everybody. At least we're being equitable.

Here's my plan. Let's step back to the Kurdish area, let the two warring factions have at each other for as long as it takes for one to destroy the other, and then attack the weakened survivor. See, that was easy.

I never thought I would say this - kudos to Carl Levin. Hardly a Joe Lieberman, but a big pat on the back.
First Barbara Boxer acknowledges CAIR is a terrorist front group by taking an award from them, now Levin...
The Democrats do occasionally surprise me in good ways.

Way to cut and run you Defeat-o-crat. Next you're going to start saying we should reenforce our troops in Afganistan.

You're just a bottle of sunshine, aren't ya Ziff?
Christ, I read the first paragraph of that Salon link and thought I was reading a comic book.
You and your buddies sure know how to portray our Military, dontcha? Knuckledragging bloodthirsty morons, all.
Thanks, pal.

Dan,
I have been reading your site for a few months, simply lurking, but seeing the number of....lefty nuts you have here, I thought you might need reeinforcements in the comments area.
I was, laughingly, wrong.
You need no help against these lightweights.

Jeff,
Didn't Barbara Boxer give back that award? Or am I dreaming?

Durand, the lefties here don't even rank as lightweights. Featherweights, maybe.

Phoenix I Googled it, didn't find anything, and I'm sure LGF or Jihadwatch would have picked up on it.
I'm surprised CAIR didn't call her an Indian giver (or a [insert Jewish slur]). It seems that CAIR is just so eager to ruin their reputation, Ibrahim Hooper is an absolutly terrible spokeman. he condemns terrorism, but won't condemn the al Qaeda, Mahdi army, Hizbollah, Hamas, or any other Islamic fanatic group.
His speeched go something to this tone
"Will you condemn terrorist groups like Hizbollah?"
"At CAIR we never support terrorism"
"Then denounce the al Qaeda"
"If they are a terror group, we do not support their actions."
"But you support them."
"There are usually better courses to follow than terrorism."
You get the point... CAIR's beautiful "moderate" face supports terrorism.
I don't like this site, because it borders on racist at parts, but it has some good stats.
http://www.anti-cair-net.org/
And Daniel Pipes just mentioned that CAIR is suing them for libel... which is a phony suit... it won't go anywhere.

Well, good. I hope she didn't give it back because I'd hate to lose an iota of the sheer disgust I feel for that creature. Sometimes it feels real good to wallow in a good hate, you know? I watch her at those meetings questioning people so much smarter than she, and I want to scream.
(I don't mind admitting to this weakness of character. :)
Also - har har on CAIR calling her an Indian-Giver.
CAIR: "We are sending Ms. Boxer's ass a buffalo to assuage her Native Guilt Bereavements."
