B1 Bombers over Baghad? Hmm
Also a warning to Dems from a Dem - be careful of who and what you pander:
WASHINGTON - Reading the polls, congressional Democrats are racing to distance themselves from the war in Iraq, competing over who has got the best proposal for a speedy exit of U.S. troops.
History suggests, however, they should look down the road. They may be planting the seeds for a trip to the political wilderness for their party in the near future, akin to what happened after Vietnam.

"They may be planting the seeds for a trip to the political wilderness for their party in the near future, akin to what happened after Vietnam."
That's a good one Dan. Last I checked, Dems were still holding tight to Congress a solid fifteen years after Vietnam ended. And after the Republicans had done such an excellent job of making it LBJ's war.
Staying the course did far, far more harm to Democrats. Too bad the conservative movement hates colleges so much, or they could get a historian to refresh them.
Also, who the hell is Lawarance Haas?

We don't hate colleges, especially ones that teach practical skills and impart an unbiased view of the historical facts (and not some revisionist or un-American screed that is so popular today).
We just don't care much for the whacko ultra-lefty loonyversity moonbats that steer all intellectual discourse off into moonbatsville, like that Terpstra broad who seethes with anti-American rage.

seekeronos - Zifnab means REAL historians like Howard Zinn & Noam Chomsky - not David McCullough or Gordon Wood. And when you go to college you're supposed to check your critical thinking skills at the door and surrender to complete inculcation. Why would you even go to college if you were going to challenge your professors with "common" sense? And why do you think they call it "common" sense? Because only "common" people like conservatives have it.
Yeah, who the hell has heard of Lawrence Haas? Is he, like, Jason Blair or Stephen Glass? lol.

Zifnab wouldn't know what a real historian looked like, much less listen to one. These moonbats never cease to amaze me, but on the plus side, let these Democrats go as far down the losing road as it will take them. They will pay a price, a very heavy price, not very far in the future. I'm going to receive mucho pleasure watching them squirm.

"Last I checked, Dems were still holding tight to Congress"
I remember the "malaise" too. It sucked.

Gee, I hope we don't get completely shut out of an election. Losing 30 house seats, 6 Governors, and 6 Senators in one election would be horribly embarassing. If only the Democrats could learn to change course and be as amazingly successful as their Republican counterparts. *sigh*
That said, I'm a bigger fan of Nein Cheng, Nell Painter, and Michael Jobbs. You know, actually authors and historians, not the talking heads of the right and left. Noam Chompsky and Gordon Wood rank right up there with Tom Clancey in terms of great historians. (*Tom Clancey writes fiction FYI*)

With Democrats like this, who needs Republicans? Let's see... member of the wingnut "Committee on the President Danger" co-chaired by Ho Lieberman? I think that's all I need to know about this warmongering tool.
