The tone sounding similar to that with which VP Cheney once engaged Leaky Leahy on the floor of the Senate.
WASHINGTON — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday phoned President Bush to air her complaints over Vice President Dick Cheney's comments that the Congressional Democrats' plan for Iraq would "validate the Al Qaeda strategy."
Pelosi, who said she could not reach the president, said Cheney's comments wrongly questioned critics' patriotism and ignored Bush's call for openness on Iraq strategy.
Yeah, I'll get back to you Nancy, some other time. Since when does openness equate to treasonous, or dispiriting?
After everything San Fran Nanny has had to say about the war, it's about time someone talked back. What's she going to do pound her gavel at him?
"You cannot say as the president of the United States, 'I welcome disagreement in a time of war,' and then have the vice president of the United States go out of the country and mischaracterize a position of the speaker of the House and in a manner that says that person in that position of authority is acting against the national security of our country," the speaker said.
Funny how the Left screams about being mischaracterized whenever you characterize them just as they are. Position of authority? Don't hold your breath. She has a position, sure - but authority is earned. So far Pelosi hasn't earned a thing, except perhaps the loyalty of that lap dog Murtha scrambling behind her waiting to be told to jump.
h/t Allah who has a video worth watching.
Here’s some gratuitous video of Blue Star Mom Deborah Johns from yesterday’s Neil Cavuto playing Cheney to Mother Sheehan’s Pelosi. She was on to plug the support-the-troops caravan being organized by Move America Forward and scheduled for next month.

"She has a position, sure - but authority is earned."
Whatever happened to "elections have consequences"?

You have a mind Dan? Now that is shocking to learn.

Rob,
I think you hurt Dan's feelings.

Dan has feelings? That is even more shocking.

Ah yes, how dare Cheney call a traitor a traitor.
Posted by: Hard Right | Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 02:30 AM
Pelosi is the traitor? How long after leaving office until Cheney is back at the helm of Halliburton?
Posted by: TheSpartan | Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 05:21 AM
Cheney was unreachable. As with his 5 deferrments, he 'had other priorities'.

Ouch! Those are some real zingers. With such creativity and brilliance the Dems are surely the party of power for generations to come, what I like to call the, "Rethuglicans (feel free to use this," are cowering. The scardy birds!

"in a manner that says that person in that position of authority is acting against the national security of our country"
Huh? What happened to four years of campaigning on the slogan "Bush lied us into war!" or didn't give troops enough armor, took his eye off "the real target," didn't "finish the job," etc. That wasn't arguing "that person in that position of authority is acting against the national security of our country?"
Look, the Democrats can argue for withdrawal, but they can't ignore the fact that that's exactly what Al Qaeda is demanding too. When your plans dovetail with the sworn enemy of your country, you might reconsider the wisdom of said plans (see Vietnam). Or, you can just decry how awful it is anyone dares point out the obvious.
Sounds like Pelosi doesn't like it when people speak truth to power.
