How about when Mark Foley was touching boys for years and Denny (I like to watch sweaty teens wrestle) Hastert turned a blind eye? Complete the mission, brave cons!!

Typical liberal reaction -- do what makes you feel good attitude.

And the old Dhimmicrat "do as we say, but not as we do" ruotine goes on.

Alright, on behalf of The Left™ I heartily condemn this, if he did in fact call her a whore.

Hey, that wasn't so hard!

Yeah Scar - real good. The silence from the Left speaks for itself. It's a shame to see such a lack of principle.

When I opened my door this morning and found that the sun had risen, I knew that grossly inept and specious reasoning was being perpetrated by Dan Riehl. "Lack of principle" over what? (a) Baca denies these accusations, which in wingnuttia equals "he done it," but in the real world, they are merely "accusations;" and (b) calling an adult colleague a "whore" is a little bit different than molesting and seducing underage boys while in a position of authority over said boys. One of those is a crime, Rieh; do you know which? (c) The Foley scandal was a media sensation, and "the left" just sat back and watched the GOP implode every night on the news. (d) Finally "the left" espoused no postion on the scandal, because it is not "the left" that tends to claim the moral high ground in all matters all the time. Oh, wait, didn't CREW make the whole Foley thing up or something?

Legalize, you forgot one.

e) The most likely reason that bloggers haven't written about this story is that the media hasn't written about the story, as Dan fully admits. Dan is fully aware of the snowball effect, echo chamber, whatever you want to call it. And yet he pretends that everyone has heard of this nonstory and the only reason they haven't written about it is that they secretly endorse calling women whores (yes, even the female bloggers are closet misogynists!) and Dark Lord Kos, naturally, has decreed that the story be deep-sixed.

Will Dan Riehl defeat this nefarious plot? Stay tuned!

Perhaps the story isn't getting much play becuase the very nature of the story is somewhat defamatory to Rep. Sanchez.

"Loretta Sanchez called a whore by colleauge" headlines do nothing more than tie together 'whore' and 'Rep. Sanchez' in the public's mind. Where is there any benefit to that?

Even the ridiculous site Dan links to, most of the posters want to know if she REALLY IS A WHORE???? Which, ya know, is typical of the flat earther cons outlook on life but a good example of why making the story a national one is damaging to Sanchez in and of itself.

"How about when Mark Foley was touching boys for years and Denny (I like to watch sweaty teens wrestle) Hastert turned a blind eye?"

How about when Studds was DICKING boys for years and dems kept him around for another 12 years?

Yes-the Foley scandal was truly shameful. Attempts at seduction were proven, but the allegations of molestation are a little thin.

Actual, honest to God, acknowledged intercourse with an underage page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerry_Studds doesn't seem to carry much of a price. Neither, for that matter, does getting videotaped taking a bribe (and later being caught with $90K in the fridge) or having been an "exalted cyclops" in the Klan...

It's always cute when the wingers try to make a point about a story that doesn't really say what they say it says, and follow that up with a bunch of "yeah buts" relative to completely unrelated scenarios.

An example of this remarkable wingnut-o-logic in action.

Sentient adult human: The War in Iraq isn't going as advertised; in fact it's pretty bad by all accounts, even according to those within the administration.

Winger: "Yeah but," Robert Byrd was in the KKK, Ted Kennedy drinks, , John Edwards sold his house, "Barak Hussein Osama," and Bill Clinon got a blowjob, and Michelle Malkin says that Charles Johnson says that Confederate Yankee linked to Dan Riehl who promises that Flopping Aces proved that Jamile Hussein doesn't exist - but if he did exist he hates America because that mosque is only "mostly destroyed" and not DESTROYED destroyed.

Legalize, you forgot the ultimate argument-to-end-all-arguments:

Michael Moore is fat.

You forgot Vince Foster - the flat-earth cons love to talk about Vince Foster.

Never expect truth or consistency from the proglodytes.

Tough to take Sanchez at her word, though. She's not Maxine Waters kooky-hateful, but she can get there with just a little more effort.

Cordially...

There are just so many wingnut canards and red herrings; it's difficult to keep track of them all. ;)

*waits for totally unsupportable and hyperbolic rant about how "the left" wants the "Islamocommienazihippyfascistvegans" to win.

Ah, google.

"Results 1 - 10 of about 1,370,000 for "typical liberal.""

Seems specious logic and tired canards are popular.

28 percent of your country being tried and true flat earth, intelligent design, muslim hating frothing at the mouth lunatic fanatics is not really a recipe for the long term success of this country.

They have done incalculable damage, and like the energizer bunny, they never give up.

If they were to get their truest secret, subconscious wish, another terrorist attack happening the US, the rest of the non flat earth sheep that have been scared stiff by their fear mongering hate and lies would fall right back in line and give the country back to the nutter cons.

LMAO Damn the Left is morally bankrupt.

"LMAO Damn the Left is morally bankrupt."

Unsupportable hyperbolic rant - check.

Lemme see-the story was about how a Dem would not pay a price for bad behavior. Legalize and co. bring up Foley (who was forced by the Pubbies to resign). Legalize and co. are then reminded of other instances of Dems not paying a price for bad behavior. Legalize and co. then go on incoherent rant about "wingnuttia", totally ignoring the point that the various Dems listed never paid the price for their bad behavior.

Nice try 91B30 but your rant does not pass the smell test. Mr Studds was censured by the Democratically controlled Conress for his behavior, so your whine that Democrats do not pay a price is a lie. Also the page in Mr Studds situation was 17 which was the age of consent, and the relationship was consensual. Why am I sure that if a Congressman was involved in a relationship with a 17 year old female in 1973 it wouldn't even be an issue with the homophobic republican Party? Keep up with the Republican modus operandi of misdirection, diversion, and smearing you have made an art form.

LMAO Damn the Left is morally bankrupt.

Dan, do we have to start the list of morally bankrupt righties?

Rob Kaufman-it's a pretty long stretch from being censured, even if for boinking a "legal" 17 year old, to being told you have to go for chatting one up. Studds won re-election numerous times. Oh, and in that same sex scandal, a Republican congressman-Dan Crane was also censured for his involvement with a 17 year old girl-but had enough moral fibre to be contrite (and lost his bid for re-election). Studds famously turned his back on the House when his censure was read.

Keep up the time-honored Democratic ploy of obfuscation, denial and absolute ignorance that has been the hallmark of the Jackass party since the 1860s.

More misdirection, deception, and outright lying 91B30?? What a good Republican you are for hitting the trifecta. Your whine was that Democrats do nothing to punish their own, which is a bald-faced lie, he was censured; whether his district chose to reelect him can not be pinned on the leadership at that time. And your logic that Dan Crane had moral fibre because he lost his bid for reelection is pathetic even coming from a right wing hack like yourself. Seems to me that the Democratically controlled Congress at the time treated both Mr Crane and Mr Stubbs the same, or would you try to argue that point too?

Again, Dan Crane had moral fibre because he apologized as opposed to turning his back on the rest of Congress like Studds-who also never apologized. Is that too subtle for you to understand? Foley was told by the Republican leadership to hit the bricks, Studds was never even stripped of his committee chairmanship-some punishment. Keep avoiding the issue of William "Dollar Bill" Jefferson, who I also mentioned above.

I'm starting to see why the Democrats are never held to account.

BTW-Newt Gingrich wanted to toss both of their butts http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/clinton/congress.htm

Which seems to me to point to the crux of the matter: Democrats are willing to tolerate or even excuse sexual predators, Republicans are at least willing to give them the boot.

91B30, how do you manage to type with your head so far up your ass? Mr Crane apologized because he had a wife and kids that he was cheating on, that did not apply to Mr Studds, so just who did Mr Studds have to apologize to? Nice try though to claim that the Republicans booted Foley because some moral outrage, they did it to cover their asses because they were taking such bad press for it. Now please resume the position.

Really, this is hilarious. What price did Studds pay? That's the point. Ah, but what does Rob care? His whole shtick is to try out his lame insult comic routine. I guess there wasn't any bad press when the Studds/Crane business broke, but then maybe the Dems knew that there wouldn't be any pressure from the press to tie the bad behavior of one congressman to them.

Which again raises the point of good old-reelected-Dollar Bill Jefferson, whom Rob has so studiously avoided. And hey-Rob, if a Republican had run roughshod through classified documents in the national archive-like a former National Security Advisor I don't have to name-do you think he would have gotten off with a slap on the wrist, or faced a long expensive trial like Scooter Libby?

Just keep blustering binky, you're making my case for me.

I think that you are just throwing darts hoping something sticks, but keep on trying, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Sandy Berger worked a plea deal so take that up with his prosecutor and Mr Libby most likely would have gotten a similiar slap on the wrist if he had come clean early on and not continued the time honored Republican plan of misdirection, deceit, and diversion. It is nice to see that you have perfected the art of typing with your head up your ass, you should be so proud.

And Bill Jefferson...

Still avoiding trying to deal with that one I see.

OTOH-you are finally admitting that Dems get by with a slap on the wrist compared to Pubbies, so I suppose that's progress.

My, you really are a single digit IQ person aren't you?? Has Mr Jefferson been convicted of anything? I truly do pity you, if I had to live out my life with my head up my ass I don't think I could pull it off as well as you.

Hey-Tom Delay hasn't been convicted of anything either (but then nobody videotaped him taking a bribe or found $90K in his fridge either).

Just keep up the low rent Triumph the insult dog routine (and repeating the same joke 4 or 5 times), you haven't touched my premise.

Your premise is pathetic and not worth responding to. At least Mr Delay has been indicted, but don't let the facts get in the way of your rant, heck you might lose your Republican ID card if you did that.

Right. None of the examples listed of Republicans paying a price in similar circumstances to Democrats who have paid little or no price proves a thing. Whether it is Berger vs. Libby, Foley vs. Studds or Jefferson vs. Delay you studiously avoid seeing a pattern. You might try to find a situation where a Democrat paid a higher price to a Republican in a similar circumstance. Shouldn't be too much of a problem for a big brain like yourself.
