The LA Times ran an obviously photo-shopped image which lgf debunked.
Y-net has run with the story. Comparing the LA Times image to the one from Iran makes it clear this was bogus PR from Iran.
An Iranian state news agency used the Photoshop program to manipulate photos in order to try and back up claims that the US was behind a spate of bombings in southeast Iran , a popular American blog said.
Charles updates the story with multiple links. Click around and you'll see the truth. Why would they have to manufacture evidence if they had any, as they claim?

Was this a "dupe" or "bias"?

Does it matter? Journalistic lack of due diligence either way.
Posted by: Purple Avenger | Monday, February 19, 2007 at 05:16 PM
Oh wait, I thought this was the thread about Jamil Hussein, the John Kerry photo, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's plane, Obama and the "maddrassa," John Edwards' Georgetown house, the death of an Iranian cleric, the Boston terrorism "scare," or the unnamed military officials who declared that Iran was responsible for arming Sunis, who in turn killed Americans, or whatever rumor the right wing noise machine holds out as "true," before even bothering to undertake ANY "due dilligence."

Legalize (Kos Bot) Good God man, How old are you , 12?
Posted by: lb | Monday, February 19, 2007 at 05:56 PM
Man, you guys are predictable. You just can't offer any defense of your dishonesty and hypocrisy - in any situation. You're a good little goose-stepper, lb; you fall right into line with the usual and tired winger memes.

What do you call someone who constantly complains while offering no solutions or reasoning of their own?
Posted by: charles | Monday, February 19, 2007 at 06:39 PM
"What do you call someone who constantly complains while offering no solutions or reasoning of their own?"
An irrelvant question, that yet again, attempts to dodge the inanity of yet another Dan Riehl thread that attempts to dodge the lying of the right wing noise machine?

A Liberal

Sorry Dan but once again you are wrong, Riehlly, Riehlly wrong. The correct answer to the question, "What do you call someone who constantly complains while offering no solutions or reasoning of their own?" is Dan Riehl.

Wow Rob, you are a genius. I couldn't see that coming. Man you are a funny, funny guy. Oh man, that was genius, I'm still laughing.
Look at the Democrat Congress. They promised huge changes. What has changed? Voting rules. Some more college aid. Minimum wage is going up (while small businesses will (thankfully) be getting tax breaks (Because Democrats would love for anyone who has found economic prosperity to have to give it all up)).
Democrats made a big fuss, convinced a few Americans that there really was a problem, and won fair and square. (No I won't claim massive voter fraud as any good loser Democrat would). Democrats complained, said there were lots of problems claimed to have the solutions (I'm still all ears) and they won. Wow.

"They promised huge changes. What has changed?"
Cold Cash J. is on homeland security committee now? I wonder if they're going to allow him to continue on with an electronic restraint?

A true Demonrat would tell you that what Jefferson did is small potatoes compared to any Republican who has ever served in office (in a Democrat's eyes any Republican is corrupt, even if he is not). Now, if Jefferson was a Republican, he would have lost his job according to Republican rules. I be Delay wishes he were a Democrat, if he were he could be chair of any number of committees. Corruption is not treated equaly within the Democratic party as in the Republican party. In the Republican party making a slightly questionable joke like Trent Lott (one might say a botched joke) costs you everything. In the Democrat party, you can be a membe of the KKK like Robert Byrd and still be President Pro Tempor.

Wow Jeff, you sure you aren't Dan under an alias? I thought Dan was the only one who was always wrong about everything. Even as a Democrat there are many Republicans who I respect even though I may disagree with them. The race is on, who will be right first, Jeff or Dan?

That's it moonbats. Duck the issue and defend LA Slime. No surprise that you would as they're just like you-mentally ill.
They didn't check out the story because it supports the leftist way of thinking. In other words, America is evil, the present problem in the middle east is entirely our fault, Iran is the real victim, and there is hardly a terrorist threat to America.
Legalize, really, take your Zyprexa.

Lack of due diligence = America hatred?
What about Fox News, then?

"Legalize, really, take your Zyprexa."
Amazing that you intellectual cowards ALWAYS invoke some sort of drug whenever the subject of your glaring hypocricy and utter lack of principle is broached. One would think that since your hero, "the Junkie" Limbaugh has been outed as a depraved addict and low-life you might stop impugning that designation upon those with whom you disagree - but wait, there's that whole hypocricy thing getting in the way still.
The fact that you and your ilk continue to have no comment on the fact that the aforementioned noise machine routinely and gleefully runs with "stories" that have no basis in fact and are the product of mere rumor and inuendo, in an attempt to smear, speaks volumes as to your delusional state.
I apologize for typing more than the 8 words you folks are used to considering.

Apology accepted, Legalize. Don't do it again.
So, I gather you listen to Rush?

"Apology accepted, Legalize. Don't do it again."
Can't make any promises.
"So, I gather you listen to Rush?"
Whenever I walk past the rehab clinic on my way to the court house - yes. The junkies there look up to him. None of which has anything to do with your repeated failures to remotely justify the utter failure and lack of interest in factual reporting among right-wing "news" sources and blogs. I don't know if you think that this perpetual dodge goes unnoticed by the public, but by all means, continue to ignore the national statement made in 2006. I'm more than happy to watch you assist your ideological brothers become the party of 8 senators.

Further: This story about a major GOP donor has been kicking around for a few days. The AP is finally reporting that he has been hit with terrorism charges: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070220/ap_on_el_ge/republican_donor_1
The silence of the wingers is deafening. I wonder if we will hear barks of "treason" at the GOP where it turns out they've been spending time and funneling money back and forth with an indicted "terrorist" supporter. Probably not.
