Keith Doperman
I've done probably a total of two posts on MSNBC's Olberman during over two years of blogging. And those only because Mark Levin smacked him down. Allah has video of Glen Beck talking about Olberman. I know less about Beck, than I do Olberman.
Olberman is a non-entity judging by his ratings. He stunk it up as a sports caster and is basically a non-nothing making his living as a mouth piece in the far Left's echo chamber. Talking too much about him only gives him the credibility he currently doesn't have and doesn't deserve.
I think his attacks on media figures on the Right are simply about trying to gain temporary audience share he obviously can't attract on his own. It might be better to ignore him, as opposed to giving him a broader stage. Sensible people don't take him seriously and I doubt that will change any time soon.

When my father had his import/export business he was attacked by some people because he did better than them. I talked to my Dad about him and asked why it didn't upset him: "talk about me, good or bad, just talk about me."
Olbermann's show is a smear of people on the right. I have watched a complete show once, I tried to watch to hear what the left is thinking (I read the Daily Kos) and his is horribly boring.
MSNBC brags that he is up about 100% from last year... he is still the lowest for that time slot, at abour 600,000 viewers per night (conversely Beck gets about the same). Things aren't going great, but he is still PMSNBC's golden boy.. but not great. O'Reilly gets 2.6 millions viewers at the same time slot.
The only thing bigger than Olbermann's ego, is Algore's carbon footprint.
Did I nail the joke?

Why are you typing this when you could be watching Bill O'Reily, Dan?

"MSNBC brags that he is up about 100% from last year... he is still the lowest for that time slot, at abour 600,000 viewers per night"
Question: If Keith were on a station with higher viewership than MSNBC, do you think his ratings would go up or down or stay exactly the same?
Followup question: Does this reveal any weakness in the "Program quality is determined by absolute viewership" argument?

Bill O'Reily, Dan?
Never been a big fan, even if we are like-minded on some issues. We all fall into the trap, but the mixing of politics and entertainment we've seen over the years isn't always for the best imo.

Bill O'Reiley is a phony jackass most of the time.

I've seen O'Reilly make an ass of himself from time to time, but KO is a non-stop braying robo-donkey cross between a mule and a Shetland Pony. KO mentions BOR every nite and I've never heard Bill say the serial spew-backside KO's name. I watch BOR often, and he is often right. KO is almost never correct, nor civil, nor funny. So I don't watch him anymore. KO knocks himself out, and should be sent home as a TKO.

Bill has gotten too big for his britches. Hannity is wallowing in a God-complex. Allan doesn't count.
Brit and Krauthammer are terrific.
Olbermann is too embarrassing. I can't watch. Making fun of stuff isn't news.

Jeff,
No. You didn't nail the joke. :) -5 for using 'carbon footprint'. That is, unless you said it with mucho gravitas.

Is this the same Glenn Beck who hates 9/11 victims, Katrina victims, and who told a reporter for US Weekly that he wanted to take nude photos of her - on the air? That Glenn Beck?
I always here these generalities as to why Olbermann sucks, but never any actual specifics, like what he says that is incorrect. I don't suspect we'll ever find out. Oh and Orlly doesn't mention Olbermann's name by choice; he just threatens people with Faux Security if they mention his name on his radio program - courageous stuff like that.

Glenn Beck is absolutley the worst of all those talking heads, with O'Reilly a close second. Beck makes Olbermann look like Cronkite and Murrow combined.

Olbermann doesn't really purport to be Kronkite or Murrow. Although he does presume to use the "good night and good luck" spiel, which is kind of, well, presumptuous. He's just a writer and a commentator who does his homework and hammers people for their bullshit, in no uncertain terms - with a sense of humor. I can see why GOPers hate him so much.
