In a recently discovered letter from Jackie Kennedy to sister-in-law Joan, we get an inside look at what Jackie O thought of Senator Ted Kennedy - D MA. She seems to have felt he inherited some rather unpleasant traits from Kennedy family patriarch, Joe.
“This is the 20th century - not the 19th - where the little woman stayed home on a pedestal with the kids and her rosary,” Jackie wrote in an undated four-page note to the senator’s wife and miserable mother of three.
Evidently Kennedy, an alleged champion of women's rights, kept a private black phone in his home for his various girlfriends to use.
Men under pressure have to let off steam sometimes - that’s why even the Catholic Church has carnival & Mardi Gras,” she wrote. “But having your own little black phone . . . so that you can talk to Mootsie or Pootsie every night - right in the house with his wife & children - and bringing them there when you’re away. What kind of woman, but a sap or a slave, can stand that & still be a loving wife & care about him & work like a dog for him campaigning? It is so old-fashioned - probably got it from his father.”
Ouch. Jackie appears to offer up her home for Joan to leave Ted, as well as offering her advice on how to navigate the Kennedy family.
“Make the sisters scared to death of you so they don’t walk all over your house and appropriate your husband. He’s your husband (that’s more important than being their brother). Tell Eunice everything & be mad when you’re telling her. Say you’d like to talk to his mother about it.”
“Don’t explain where you will be, don’t speak of yourself as a delicate health problem - Don’t ask permission . . . Be a bit mysterious . . . then he can’t plan things around your absence,” she wrote with a wink.
In a second letter, which is trash-stained and missing its first page, Jackie invites Joan and her kids to move in with her if she needed a break from Ted.

Ouch! His own family hates him more than normal Americans. Says something about the real Ted Kennedy.
We are seeing into the real Ted Kennedy
We are seeing into the real Hillary Clinton
We are seeing into the real Barrack Obama
We are seeing into the real John Edwards
We have seen the real Jon Kerry
The Democrat party in not pretty. (Except Breck Girl, and his beautiful hair)
It seems almost disgusting when you see into the real Democrat party doesn't it?
Posted by: Jeff | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 08:46 PM
It is on;y disgusting for you Jeff, but what could you expect with your (cough) Mensa abilities. If it helps I do find you disgusting, but you probably already knew that.

For these liberals to be for the betterment of women yet treat the ones around them like garbage always amazes.
Posted by: Darth Malice | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 09:36 PM
What was this? 45 years ago? Good lord do we need to dreg up how republicans treat their wives?
Posted by: TheSpartan | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 09:51 PM
Which wife should we ask for Rudy?
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 09:52 PM
Spartan, liberals always claim to be FOR women.Conservatives make no such claim we corner the market.
Posted by: Darth Malice | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 10:01 PM
hey, maybe he'll get lucky and be pegged as a rapist - then the libs will run him for President like they did with Clinton.
Posted by: Dan Riehl | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 10:14 PM
I'm so cynical now I wouldn't trust a democrat or republican if they had no baggage. And to show how disgusted I am, I also say screw what anyone does in private - just get a leader in office who will tell people to fuck off when they need it. That's how low my metric has fallen for a leader for this country. Fuck off.. Everyone. Lead.

Hey Rob, I have one question: What did I ever do to you?
You are obviously a jerk, not very charming, and a compulsive liar. I didn't have a problem with you before this and I have politely asked you to stop being rude. I certainly don't wish ill on you, but if something bad were to happen, I doubt that anyone would care. (I am basing this solely on the way you act here) Perhaps we could have been friends if you hadn't acted so imbecilicly and childishly. I find it odd that you can find me disgusting, when you don't know me, and I have done anything that would deserve being called that way. It obviously proves a lot about you, that you would be willing to tell one off simply for their political beliefs. It shows you insecurity, not only politically, but socially as well.
That being said :)
Conservatives never claim to be champions of the poor, lazy, and dispossesed. Lieberals do. Ted Kennedy is not only not being progressive with his wife and girlfriends, rather his actions are regressive, taking us back to before the Reformation, when a woman could not say "boo" about her husband's infidelity. I would assume that Kennedy has his wife under he thumb through some sort of abuse. (Threats to sit on her if she tells perhaps?)
The point is that a champion of the liberal movement has been exposed for being the cretin that he is. And nothing can change that.
Someone said this was 45 years ago, so it is not applicable. Yet when we hear of Romney's distant family member's(!) having an obsene numbe of wives it is front page news. Keep in mind this was 150 years ago, it would be like calling almost any white person a slave driver because a distant relative of theirs was one.
So Kennedy having 12 girlfriends in addition to his wife "x" number of years ago (say 45) is not applicable, but Romney's great-great-grandfather having 12 wives (an accepted religious practice amongst Mormons in those times (remember slavery was also acceptable)) is applicable.
Something seems wrong here.

Need some cheese with your whine Jeff? Maybe you could get your mommy to burp you and that might help your sorry disposition. As for me being a jerk I have no problem with that, I see nothing wrong with being a jerk to jerks.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 10:58 PM
I know something that's right here. You, Jeff. Thumbs up.
Posted by: Phoenix | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:03 PM
"a jerk to jerks"
Liberal translation - Bob loves his circle jerks, big surprise.
Posted by: Dan Riehl | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:04 PM
Who Why are you insulting Bob Dan? He did nothing to you in this thread.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:07 PM
Correction:
Whoa why are you insulting Bob Dan? He did nothing to you in this thread.
PS Nice to see though that once again a pathetic right wing loon has to go to the playbook with a pathetic homophobic rant. Congrats Dan, I knew you had it in you.

"Whoa why are you"
Need some cheese with your whine
You're talking to yourself, Rob - that's a bad sign.

Homeland Security Officer at Dulles after Rob goes through the body scan:
"Have a nice flight, Miss Kaufman."
Posted by: Phoenix | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:14 PM
Gee Ms Phoenix, didn't you whine and say that we evil liberals had driven you from sniffing at Dan's butt? Nice to see you could follow his scent back here to make more pathetic posts. It is so touching to see such devotion.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:16 PM
Dan??? Was that last moronic post supposed to mean anything? I don't expect much from you but a nonsensical post is even below your already low standards.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:19 PM
As The Queen of Clits-Be-We, I am allowed to change my mind at whim.
And, yeah. I'd drop for Dan's sweet penis.
Posted by: Phoenix | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:28 PM
He has one?? Will wonders never cease? But when you need a magnifying glass to see it does it really count?
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:31 PM
Will wonders never cease?
lol Quite a "wonder" watching a woman beat you over the head with "my" penis. LOL

Posted by: Darth Malice | Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:56 PM
ROFLMAOBMGRMS, nice try Dan but how does the fact that Phoenix is your sycophant help to explain away your teeny weenie? Can you make her bark like a dog too? And how well does she beg?
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 12:08 AM
Beg? You jest. We're like heat-seeking missiles.
Dan is the missile. I'm the heat.
ooh ARF! :)
Posted by: Phoenix | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 12:12 AM
"Can you make her bark like a dog too?"
Not nearly as well as you. Good boy!
And I think we all realize this is a projection thing you have going there with the "teeny weeny" insult, Thumbelina.
Posted by: Dan Riehl | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 12:52 AM
Thank you Pee Wee Herman, a classic, "I know you are but what am I?" retort. Sure Dan, I am the one who needs to compensate by having a blog to try and make myself seem important. Oh wait, that would be you, so sorry for the mistake there Dan, but I guess we already know how women with brains scare the crap out of you.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 01:25 AM
Miss Kaufman,
You are too silly. When I put on my collar and Dan hooks the leash to it, I am full of the most delightful tricks. I roll over. I sit. I stay. And I come. Dan gives me a nice yummie for my good behavior and I swallow it down with relish. He pets me and then I go to sleep. He especially enjoys petting my pit-bull buns. He's not one bit scared. Never. He loves it because he always says, "Good girl!"
Does that sound as if he's scared? oh arf arf... lick.

Any word on why Laura Bush murdered that boy?
Posted by: BobInStamford | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 08:16 AM
Rob... keep fighting the good fight. You're grasping at straws, but it's fun to see you totally and utterly embarrassed. These things come full circle Rob, you acted like a jerk, and you get treated as such.
Here's a Haiku for the moment
Rob got lambasted
By Conservative rednecks
How does it feel Rob?
Posted by: Jeff | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 08:47 AM
Gee Jeff, is your post based on your unbiased opinion? Thank you though if you think I got lambasted by tweedledee and tweedledum, I must be doing something right. As long as you don't 'empose' your views on me I think I will be fine. Thank you for once again amusing me with your 'Mensa' abilities.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 11:46 AM
But Rob, I would be interested in your real opinion of Ted Kennedy. I am not talking about the letter because I guess we don't really know if it authentic yet.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 12:55 PM
"empose"
You mean impose?
Posted by: Jeff | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 01:18 PM
No Jeff, I was using the spelling you used for impose in a post awhile back. It is nice though to see you have learned how to spell the word and admitted you and your Mensa mind screwed it up earlier.
Fred, my opinion of him as a person or a Senator? I think he is a better than average Senator with some personal failings.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 01:40 PM
Rob,some failings???He should still be in prison, but since the Kennedys control politics in the Socialist Republic of Mass,he can get away with anything.
Posted by: Darth Malice | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 02:16 PM
Sure Darth, keep repeating that and you might believe it yourself. Just how common was it 40 years ago for someone involved in a drunk driving incident to be charged?
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 06:57 PM
Rob,he left a girl to die.Does that not phase you a wee bit?
Posted by: Darth Malice | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 07:15 PM
Were you there Darth? How drunk was he and was he even aware what was going on? Do you know that in his state that he could have done anything to save her? Did you consult your crystal ball to come to your conclusions? And do you hold Laura Bush equally in contempt for her part in the death of a former classmate when she ran a stop sign or does your indignation only apply to liberals?
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 07:28 PM
And do you hold Laura Bush equally in contempt for her part in the death of a former classmate when she ran a stop sign or does your indignation only apply to liberals?
Link?
Why didn't George Soros bring this out before either election that Bush won? Sounds like a crock to me. (Oh, and if you link to the Democrat Underground, or the Daily Kos I won't read it. As well as any site funded by Goerge Soros.) And there goes your source.

Accident!

Here you go Jeff, not that you will believe the truth
http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/laura.asp
And I understand that DU and DailyKos are both above your reading comprehension level.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 08:43 PM
Wow Rob, you just can't shut up.
Posted by: Jeff | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 09:19 PM
Laura was a teenager Rob...Ted was a Senator....God you liberals have no ability to reason sometimes.
Posted by: Darth Malice | Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 09:27 PM
So Darth? If she is old enough to drive she is old enough to be responsible while doing it. So by your logic should we let all people off if they committ their crimes as teenagers?
Seems poor Jeff needs to be burped and have his diaper changed again, hopefully one of you right wing nuts can handle that. Anyone as pathetic as you who uses the word Democrat as an adjective obviously has too many issues to count.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Monday, February 26, 2007 at 12:59 AM
Rob writes: "And I understand that DU and DailyKos are both above your reading comprehension level." I guess that explains why Rob prefers to do his reading here while his heart is clearly there.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Monday, February 26, 2007 at 10:22 AM
Nice try Fred, but I am quite capable of reading from more than one site, I read DU and DailyKos when I want to see reasoned well thought discussion and I like to read this one for the sheer entertainment value.
